I was posted in Lumding division from 2000 to 2001. I visited Karimganj a few times on inspection. I was the incharge of all mechanical Engineering activities of the division. Karimganj is located on border of Bangladesh. By now this MG line has been converted to BG I am sure.
@@ManiVijay No sir. It went Karimganj only. Then reversed to go Agartala. We departed from LMG on 31st Dec 2013 and the next day new year entire day we were in the train! Reached Agartala around 6 pm.
I hails from karimganj and itis my birth place too but now i am living new delhi due to posting but i have many memories and i will be visiting in my born place in this year's winter vacation 🥰🥰😊

@@ManiVijay After Gauge Conversion, the only problem arose after bypassing this Station. All long distance trains from Agartala bypass Karimganj Junction with a short halt at New Karimganj, which is far away from the main town😡
Been following your channel for a long time and i really enjoy watching your videos especially those related to metre gauge, i grew up in northern India where metre gauge was in abundance (now extinct, thanks to gauge conversion :(. )Used to watch these trains in their glorious days as a kid with my grandfather at my town's railway junction, Watching your videos is really nostalgic!
My first train journey experience was on m g when I was 9 years old I urge my parents to go by train from kumarghat (Tripura) till karimganj on my way back to Shillong since then I was curious to know how reversal of loco use to take place and finally after 19 years I witnessed it through your video thank you sir

@@ManiVijay Bengali and Assamese use a very similar script for writing. Also spoken languages are mutually intelligible to a certain level - like Tamil/Malayalam or Marathi/Konkani language pairs. By the way the Barak Valley region of Assam is mostly Bengali speaking.

Yes. It is around 40 km from the border. Maisashan is the station next to the border.
