This band is constantly looking toward the future, whilst respecting their past. I've been so impressed with their high level of intelligent output over the years. Exciting to see what rabbit they pull out of their hat this time.
Word! How many bands haven't after a reunion tried (or maybe not even tried) made albums that are just pale images of old stuff, but OMD have definitely developed.
Where’s ~Andy?
@@andyaustin9332Andy singing
Beautiful sonically goosebumps me has😊!!!!
The OMD,s esence is alive today and will stay for all times as the thecno pop band in England
One of the bands you must see live 😊
The energy that Andy puts into live performances is just unreal. I finally got to seem them do, The New Stone Age live a couple of years ago, at the 12th time of hoping. UNREAL!!! Will be seeing them again next year in Leeds and maybe Newcastle
It's so complicated trying to see bands these days back before social media and 2020 being what it was, but I'd like to think I may still seem them, and possibly Sparks.
MAGARI!!!! ❤❤❤
@@dddayesq5061 well they got 40 years older 🤔
@@dddayesq5061 What?
46 years on and as brilliant as ever! Purchased the album at the end of 2023, and it is SENSATIONAL!!!
As a die hard OMD for over 40 years this track is AWESOME! Thank you OMD for your constant musical innovation - can’t wait for new album ❤️❤️❤️ Love you guys 😘😘😘
Same from me
100% this! Discovered them with Red Frame White Light when I was 12... they have added so much to the quality of my life.
Why?
❣️
@@eightiesmusic1984because they said so. 😮
So NOT as todays everyday music you hear on the radio. I love it. Great to see them go more electronic ❤
Well no, no one plays proper 80s legends on the radio with new stuff. That hasn't been done since before Andy retired as a solo performer, before their 2010 comeback. Radio is for the crap of today.
@@kyachdistent1301'radio is for the crap of today"....i'ld be a liar if i say i disagree.

Another future classic from the fantastic OMD!
This song is another incredible one. How does this band keep releasing consistently amazing, unique and innovative material for a full 40 years? This is up there with the best of them.
It is dire.
I'm glad they do, gives us something to enjoy now the quality of music is at an all time low thanks to social media
@@eightiesmusic1984 Check your connection.
@@eightiesmusic1984walk on
@@eightiesmusic1984 Yes, madogga, Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys have been dire for ages (and slagdonna always was).
Musically, two great things happened in 2023. A new album by Everything But The Girl (Fuse) and a new album by OMD (Bauhaus Staircase). My ears are happy.
After a few rewatches I have noticed that the gallery part has all the album arts, nice touch and a great way to honour the bands long history!
Me too, clever!
I realised it first time lmao
Must admit it took me about 10 views to see the album covers. 😅
100% full on entertainment .Sounds fresh with an essential 80's flavour at the same time.
I got chills listening to this! These two 80's icons are STILL pushing the envelope and redefining modern music. That retro-classic, sequence-driven, super melodic and danceable, quasi-industrial, futuristic sound that Orchestral Manouevres in the Dark basically invented lives on! Can't wait for the album release!
progressive progressive progressive 118 bpm
Fully agreed, but there are 4 of them. Never forget Martin Cooper and Stuart Kershaw ❤
@@jeff91266 Malcolm Holmes is 4th, technically Kid Kershaw is the 5th, and I don't doubt they are an important part of the band, but it was always the creative nucleus, wording and music of Paul and Andy that formed the band. That's why it's always seen as this, that's correct.
Just brilliant
My favourite band of all time. I’ve seen around 100 bands live, and nothing will ever be as mind-blowing as Andy on that stage. The guy has so much talent it should be illegal. 🤣 role on your time-I’m allready debating what to wear 🤣
Thanks for sharing your experience. Also, try catching Depeche Mode live.
@@sashazxtt I would if I could, but Depeche mode don’t come to the city I live in, plus, their tickets are far too expensive. Travelling isn’t an option as my husband is disabled and terminally ill. That didn’t stop him dancing the night away in his wheelchair with glow sticks at the Cambridge OMD gig. I tell you what though……. I danced and sang so much that night, that I couldn’t walk or talk for three days after! 🤣 I’m so doing that again this time. Nobody comes even remotely close to Andy is my eyes. That man can do no wrong on that stage. He’s just amazing .
@@themoores9817 My best to you and your husband. Glad to hear he enjoyed the gig. Wish he could do more of that.
I saw a documentary about OMD. The boys came through like really good, decent people.
Rock on!
Andy and his "windmill dancing" are what keep me returning to see them live! Their interaction with the crowd is unique to OMD and the energy is contagious!
@@ejhammon 100% agree. I’ve never left an arena/venue and said right away that I gotta go again, but for OMD, I said it b4 I even left the venue. I feel rather emotional . There is nothing remotely even close to being as good as the lads live. I don’t know how Andy does it. I danced and sang so much I couldn’t walk or talk for 3 days! And he can do that nearly every night of a tour. The dude has nothing but respect from my arthritic 38 year old spine. I can’t keep up with him 🤣🤣 he is a legend ! All four are talented as hell, but I just connect with Andy’s voice. It’s just sensational .
Freaking amazing. After 40 years so damn impressive.
One of their best albums. Synth pop perfection. Winner!
Midas touch always gold for my ears
Definitely the kind of music we need today. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You must be looking in all the wrong places there some real good bands out there .
Cracking song from one of the best bands of all time. Cant wait to hear the whole album.
OMD their music is forever young
Loving the New Vibe
Great new single pressing the boundaries of the future but respecting their past. Amazing can’t wait for the album
Explain.
This is Awesome.. Greetings from the Netherlands
I’ve always loved this band since I was around 10 years old x never once have they disappointed x fab music boys ❤
Wow es como volver a los orígenes de la banda !! Enola Gay, Electricity, Telegram Messages Love it !!! saludos desde el Sur de Chile ✌🏻😊🇨🇱
The fact they are still moving forward in their musicianship after all these years is a testament to not only their songwriting talents, but also to their courage. Live and love on boys!! What an inspiration!!
Stunning!!!
Great new Album ❤
Love this. (Bit of Sparks in there.)
And rhythm similar to Kraftwerks Trans Europe Express.
Heard this on Radio Caroline recently - Excellent track 👍
Is that an American radio station?
Gorgeous pop art wrapped in a mix of Kraftwerk and English ignorance. A must have!
My Favourite band of all time, the guys who got me into music in General. This song and album will surely be ones to cherish along with all the others! We love you OMD!
❤
Even though you made "The Pacific Age" and "Universal" albums.
Just have to say Wow 100% ❤
Been a fan since the 80s. Bring on the music!
Surely a tour is going to follow🙏🙏
UK booked up and ready to be announced for Feb/Mar 2024, apparently.
Brilliant! So fresh, and so true to OMD's quiddity -- Well done, guys! Can't wait to hear the rest of the album!!
Wow they are back and these tracks are incredible ❤
Original but familiar.
Catchy but not boring.
Still making great music.

OMD❤ OMG!!! The best band forever. Have been followed them sins early 80'th. Thanks for the music 👍
continue plz
I love how it's still the same sound but fit with the times. So good. Video and song. All of it. Long live OMD!
Avec Bauhaus, on sent bien cet esprit Kraftwerk des années70 - 80. Quelle époque magique d'innovation !
In form. Big time. Being OMD
Welcome back love it more with every listen can't wait for the full album paulie
Amazing 😍 can't wait for the new album and tour next year 😍😍😍😍
This is one of OMD's best in my opinion.
Great song, great clip! Love the embedded homage to album cover art for past OMD albums!
Unbelievably fantastic ! This amazing group have continued to maintain an impressive level of brilliant innovative music for over 40 years . They continue to set a standard few others can match. So proud of OMD. Love their music, always have and always will.
I am really loving this song. Fresh and modern yet still a tribute to their roots. Can't wait for the new album!
I'm really enjoying this album right now. Dazzle Ships is my favorite lp of theirs
The greatest band of all time hits hard once again with this new song! Can't wait to be able to get this new album which is already shaping up to be a real success! You are too strong and I love you guys
Wie geil! Sie leben! Die vielleicht unterschätzteste Band des Planeten! Love it!
The godfathers of German influenced British synthpop are back in anti-fascist glory!
Wicked tune guys, can’t wait for the album!
24 yrs old, fan of OMD, Depeche, Tears For Fears, Talk Talk, Ultravox, and all the rest of it!
Fella, you've gravitated towards a great genre to have lifelong enjoyment of music from !
Still listening to and thoroughly enjoying OMD, DM et al 40 years after they were new, they stand the test of time. 😀

Appreciate that mate
I’m young and mad about synth-pop. Gonna talk about this because I love sharing this with people.
I’ve always had a likening to electronic sounds since a young age really, in the likes of the alternative rock band Keane, used to listen to them loads as a kid, they have smatterings of electronic music throughout their piano rock.
And then it was the likes of Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds, and then the most popular of 80s music (stuff everyone’s heard of, not specifically synthpop) by this point I’m about 18-19. Had a relationship, it fell apart, I needed music more than ever to get me through a dark time, I turned to and discovered synthwave by artists like The Midnight or Timecop1983, also the EDM of deadmau5 and Porter Robinson, lyrics and melodies and synth lines that got me through a real rough time.
The running thread of it all was it was music with synthesizers. I just hadn’t made that connection yet.
At this point retro obsessions were starting to take off, Stranger Things and what have you.
And one day I overheard on the radio at work, it’s a station called Absolute 80s, two songs, Thompson Twins’ Hold Me Now and Nik Kershaw’s Wouldn’t it be Good.
It was like Pandora’s box opened once I made the connection between the music that took my fancy, and the instrument responsible.
So then I watched a documentary called Synth Britannia, and that sealed it for me. It was interesting, and the music just sounded like nothing else.
From there, it was a journey of discovery. Over the past year or two, I’ve listened to artists mentioned, but also The Cure, Human League, Flock of Seagulls, Heaven 17, Kraftwerk, Jean-Michel Jarre, Howard Jones, Pulp, The Lightning Seeds, China Crisis, Deacon Blue, The Christians, Art of Noise, Soft Cell, Midge Ure, New Order, Yazoo, Fleetwood Mac, The Smiths, Duran Duran, Pet Shop Boys, Simple Minds, Prefab Sprout, all have taken a place in my music playlist.
I haven’t looked back.
I’ve been catching them and others live too whenever I can, now most of these artists are getting older, OMD actually stated that Bauhaus Staircase might be their last album, and I’ve ONLY JUST GOTTEN INTO THEM! 😂
In doing so, I also stumble across modern synthpop, electronic and alternative music in turn, the likes of Nation of Language, Dry Cleaning, Working Mens Club, Squid, SPELLLING, Chvrches, Everything Everything, Slow Readers Club, BJ Camplight, Blossoms, Tame Impala, and other indie artists who absolutely deserve to be big someday!
Stupid comment.
Love the shots of their album covers at the end.........Organisation, Architecture and Morality (YES!), Dazzle Ships (OH YES!!) Junk Culture, Crush etc. They are remembering their past and embracing the future. There's no ecuse, my feelings still remain.
45 years into their career and they releases this! Nothing short of amazing :D Liverpools best band ever? ;)
Have you heard of The Beatles?
From the first album to Bauhaus Staircase this band are so consistent in their innovation to electronic music loved them since 1980
This song is synthtastic! OMD is fresh as ever! Here’s to more albums! Can’t wait for this one! 🥂🌈🕺🏻
It's awful, but they've said this will be their last one. But anyone like them could-AND SHOULD-change their minds!
Long after it was all freely available I still bought a few old OMD albums new on CD to add encouragement.
OMD!!!❤❤❤❤
The band name and song title together is awesome imagery
I love the way they always create a brilliant vibe and catchy songs without even really using the traditional Verse, Bridge, Hook model. Superb.
Great track, can't wait for the album! 👍👍
A constant musically in my life , where another of my favourites DM have been hit of miss over the last 10 years OMD never falter when releasing new music , they have never rested on their laurels but pushed each new release to be better and different , lap it all up while you can , this is potentially their last sonic offering . Long live the Kings
This is 5000% OMD...since 1981 I hear you, helps me going through hard times and also bring sun and light to me...two concerts in Munich and the first one when probs was coming up, because all get up and went to stage to dance....this what I needed and now I listen....while having my shishah....Greetings once from Munich now Egypt Alexandria....😁🥰🥂
What a fantastic band, can’t wait for the new album and tour ❤
❤ so thankful they are still giving great music to the world
Your new song is so extremely fantastic!!!!
I'm always happy that OMD has released new albums and songs over the decades. I love your son so much. I've been there since the early 80's.
Keep up the good work with your unmistakable sound !!!!
Best band I have ever

I soooooooooooo love the subtly growing aggressive undertone. All the extra vocals that jump in and out. Brilliant opener to the new album. Curious about the rest.....and the upcoming remixes.
Still got it awesome band OMD
Por fin una canción nueva de este super grupo de los 80s.fantastica canción!❤
This song keeps growing on me, more and more each day. Can't wait for the new album!!!
such intelligent art and music ... brilliant work gentlemen !!
❤❤❤ woww. 80's style and fresh Sounds. Vocals are Superb. Deeply amazed. Hope Rest of Album in these Style.
OMD at it's best, can't wait for the new album
HOLY CRAP!!! I am BLOWN AWAY. GORGEOUS! The strings, the words, the synths... they've done it again! SO stoked for this album. Thank you, Andy and Paul.
I was a HUGE fan of OMD in the 80's.... had no idea they were still making great music
I was a huge fan until 2008 when, in the rain, we waited to see the band, and they "cherry picked" which fans they would see. I was disgusted and have never seen them live since. All fans pay their wages so all fans should be treated the same...🤷
@@MissMJH where did that happen
@@USMCSDI Nottingham
@@MissMJH is that for a meet and greet? would have been random then and possibly by the staff working for them ?
It couldn't have been for entry to somewhere if you'd already paid?
I’ve got the chance to see these terrific guys in Sweden a few years ago. Excellent experience!
I love this track. Very fresh and still very OMD
Thank you for all your great songs - don´t ever stop producing such great music
The brilliance of OMD continues. Their legacy was cemented over 30 years ago. But my goodness is this yet another GREAT track!
LOL "over 30 years ago"... OK. Joan of Arc was out in 1981. That's over 40 years ago, fella!
Just bloody AMAZING!!!!! I want to buy this!!😎❤️
You've trodden yet stayed on that line that is all too often fallen off - brand new material that's not repeating what you've done before, yet doesn't alienate your long term fans. Quite a trick to pull off, and you've done it with aplomb lads.
Love it ! 🥰🥰🥰
COMPLETELY AGREE! Managing to keep things fresh isn't an easy task!
I've just realised@@ejhammon that it's 44 years since they graced us with Electricity.
Well impressed that they can make it sound so fresh yet undeniably them. On my fifth listen and it gets catchier with every one. Sounds great on headphones !😀
