Glad that things like this are taking place. What I wish for. Someone would relocate the exhaust ports to the other side. Even a log type manifold would be preferable to having the intake and exhaust sharing the same side. A monumental task no doubt. Yet anything is possible. Great presentation. Thanks.
Very cool to see the slant 6 getting some loving, these engines are practically bullet proof, it reminds me of a Timex watch-"It Takes a Licking and Keeps on Ticking!!!
Great stuff, you have my Slant 6 direction and I will surely use your parts and expertise. BUT as far as video, could you shut the machinery off in background? Loud.
This instructional video is performed on our mock up engine. If this was an installation on an engine that was going into service a manifold gasket would be required. We recommend and use Remflex gaskets for final installations. You can read more below: www.gillwelding.com/product-page/remflex-slant-six-intake-gasket-6008
It would be amazing I don't know if anybody makes us really counterbalance crank to put in that engine. Matching the pounder with the lightened flywheel with a good Stout pressure plate.
Can you do a video talking about your fuel injection setup(s), you have have two old posts on your website, would be nice to get some more details about the details for those of thinking about making the switch from carburetion to mpfi.
Thank you for your comment, we have a few videos and posts coming up to address this. A few of these videos will be in a "how to" series on simple Multi-point EFI.
It depends on the model and manufacture, typically yes. We do this as an EFI conversion service, but we also sell EFI manifolds and Direct Modified EFI manifolds. www.gillwelding.com
Thank you for your comment, the intake/exhaust gasket was not required for this demonstration. For an engine that is going to be used in service we recommend Remflex intake/exhaust gaskets. The engine in this video is for mock up and demonstration purposes only.
Thank you for the comment, this setup was for demonstration only, but then engine this setup is going to be installed on is estimated for 600+ HP. Mild to wild we like all Slant Sixes.
They came from the factory 145 horsepower. Just adding headers and 4 bbl intake/carburetor, or fuel injection should get at least another 30 horsepower, with a new cam easy over 200 horsepower

I like the attention that the Slant 6 is getting! This is a wonderful system that you created.
I absolutely LOVE this fab work.
Outstanding solution to a slant 6 headache!
I admire the hard & smart work you're putting into this solid design Mopar.
Thank you for your comment, we are trying to breath new life and support into the Slant Six engines.
Man, that is a really nice set-up. The collector tie-in to the Dutras is outstanding.
Beautiful manifolds on the gorgeous Slant Six.
Very happy you started making videos hope to see some turbo slant videos trying to learn more about your setups thank you.

Thank you for your comment, you never know what the future might hold.
I put a Supra L6 in a Vega that had exhaust on one side and intake the other. Loved the performance!

Thank you for the comment, we hope to have much more Slant Six content in the future.
Great setup for the underdog of Mopar engines!
Thank you for your comment, we hope to bring a lot more Slant Six products out in the future.
Nice sysem.
Well thought out.
Thanks for posting this.
Very Cool... Someday..
I am currently Daily driving my Slant6.. this setup just looks Awesome
Oh jeez... what a fantastic tool! (The aligment bar, not you LOL) ... you make beautiful stuff! I shoulda gone with Dutras!
Thank you! There's always next time!
Just plain awesome, you guys are great.
Thank you, we do our best! Be sure to subscribe for more!
That’s pretty slick. 👍
Dang it man! That's awesome !
Great stuff, you have my Slant 6 direction and I will surely use your parts and expertise.
BUT as far as video, could you shut the machinery off in background? Loud.
I'd love to see a 8-71 blower on a slant 6 !!!!!!
Oh man this is slick 👍👍
it looks like the slant that I have. Same color and all!
Awsome set up.
Isn't there supposed to be a manifold gasket between the iron head and the intake/exhaust manifolds?

I would be tempted to run individual exhaust pipes off the cast headers and join them under the car.
thats kind of the point,a y-pipe to a single exhaust or run duals(preferable) with an x -pipe
Wish that intake manifold would fit my 4 litre H.O. XJ Jeep motor !!
That's a cool set up.... it's almost a shame I'm swapping out my slanty for an early hemi in my 64 Barracuda.... almost.
Sorry, who designed and produces that cool Aluminum intake manifold?
Was it this fellow here?
The intake used in this demonstration is an Aussiespeed Hurricane.
You can order one from here:

Do you know how much compression gain I get with,090 off head
Aussiespeed manifolds !!Onya mate , good gear.

I'm wondering why you didn't just put like alignment pins and holes, which line manifolds together ?
It would be amazing I don't know if anybody makes us really counterbalance crank to put in that engine. Matching the pounder with the lightened flywheel with a good Stout pressure plate.
Uncle Tony could use your stuff for his Swiss Cheese Project. He runs junk with polished valves but seems to enjoy it.

putting the intake runners to go in-between the exhaust heads was a..... it was an interesting design choice...
It's just a basic L-head design with the intake and exhaust ports on the same side.
Top notch!
Are those angular bosses, drillable for fuel injectors ?!

@@GillWelding Thank you.
What about installing it on a 170 cu.in. slant six.
Our Alignment Bar should work for all Slant Sixes 170/198/225.
What about the intake? My exhaust manifold gaskets.?
You will want to clearance the intake so that it sits square against the alignment bar. For Exhaust/intake gaskets we recommend Remflex.
Where do you find the headers at
You can find it at www.gillwelding.com
How much horsepower can you really get out of a 225 Slant six
It depends on the project and application, with forced induction and MPFI typically 450-550 is achievable.
@@GillWelding That is impressive!!
How do I get one???
Thank you for your question. We can set you up with one at www.gillwelding.com just fill out the contact form.
All that work for 135 HP? Nice work!

Extractors would be way better .
God I wish I hadn't let my ex wife talk me into selling my '74 Space Duster 225....
