  • I am really enjoying the TRX4M, but when it comes to crawling there are few things that's lacking namely gearing, weight distribution and tires/wheels for better traction and Center of Gravity. In today's video, I am going to show you how to install the gear set step-by-step.
    There are 3 flavors available, the high speed gears, stock mid-speed gears, and the low speed crawling gears. I am going to slow it down by installing the low speed crawling gears, but the process will be the same for the high speed gears as well. So enjoy!

    Upgrade radio, and you'll get lots of wheel speed, but smoothe crawl too, the radio is the problem, stock setup is fine

      @BigSungHobbies  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for the info. Upgrading the radio is a great idea, and one that I plan to do at some point, but $5 gear set will be a good interim solution ;)

      The ESC is the problem ! ^^ Dont tell me you swapped Transmitter and Reciever but still use stock ESC....

    • @BigSungHobbies
      @BigSungHobbies  Рік тому

      It’s possible that he upgraded the transmitter to Traxxas TQi only. TQi offers end point adjustments and possible better control with bluetooth programmability.

      The reciever is apart of the esc on the TRX4M, so the esc would have to be replaced & then get a seperate reciever.

    Does it not need any grease for the gears? Thank you for the video. I have the gears on the way.

      @BigSungHobbies  5 місяців тому +1

      From what I have read, it doesn't need it, but you can put very light coating if you feel more comfortable.

      It's not needed, but a very light coating works as well.

    My slow gears (official from Traxxas) are much louder than the stock ones, is it ok?

    • @BigSungHobbies
      @BigSungHobbies  3 місяці тому

      Mine is a little louder as well. It should be fine, but you can always dab a very thin layer of grease to see if that helps.

    So no lithium grease? I would think you would plastic gears dry.

    • @BigSungHobbies
      @BigSungHobbies  7 місяців тому +3

      From what I have seen and heard from others, it shouldn't matter. That being said, if you feel more comfortable, you can always put a very light coating.

    • @BigSungHobbies
      @BigSungHobbies  9 місяців тому +1

      They are plastic gears as far as I can remember...it's been a while since I had installed them.

    • @BigSungHobbies
      @BigSungHobbies  10 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for pointing it out. Normally on a 1/10 scale, a light coating of grease is required, but on TRX4M it is not mandatory. That being said if you do put grease, make sure that it's a very light coating.

    • @BigSungHobbies
      @BigSungHobbies  Рік тому

      Not really needed in this case, but you can put really light coating if you desire.
