A couple other things I wanted to point out from my own experience with the game: 1. Completing Nightcrawler lights Extra Ball the first time around. I don't know what its substitute value is. 2. During Sentinels, after enough shots, more time is added. A lot more. Maxes at 100 secs though 3. Deadpool helps you if he's available after hitting some number of switches. Definitely worth getting before starting Brotherhood or Hellfire. I do wonder why Deadpool was still helping you when you had no villains running. 4. At the end of Danger Room, it throws all four balls back out and you start taking out Dark Phoenix (which is supposed to be the Wizard mode after completing all villains). I've only reached Danger Room twice (and completed it both times amazingly), so it's about as vague to me as the video showed. P.S. to Bowen, this is Brandon from CAX '15 and '16 (if you still remember me at all)
@@ericsvilpis1635 yea this wasn't really that helpful for someone who has no clue what each mode is and what shots are required to complete it. A real tutorial would be awesome but probably twice as long. I'd be willing to watch as this didn't help me much. I just bought an X-Men yesterday and trying to learn how to play it.
Did you know like if you push the right flipper button lightly, it only flips the lower right flipper, push it harder to also flip the upper right flipper. Like in a multiball if you wanted to hold your balls still on the right flipper only, just push the button lightly and while holding the balls on the right flipper and make a left loop shot, just press it harder when it gets close to the upper right flipper and it'll flip it without you accidentally flipping the balls to the other side
Is there something that describes what is required to finish each hero? Not entirely sure what makes Rogue an easy mode to complete, or what other unique characteristics each hero has to finish. Thanks.
There SHOULD be something that describes what is required to finish each hero, and you wouldn’t be incorrect in assuming it might be called a tutorial!
The DMD had arrows pointing right or left indicating a right or left ramp/loop. Your choice. If there are no arrows shown you need to hit Wolverine. This is indicated by an enemy on the DMD.
Wow. Lots left out. Explanation of what Deadpool does and how long he sticks around. No explanation on each villain mode and how to complete. Some things explained wrong such as how Hellfire mode works and some villain modes not even shown. I usuallly enjoy these, but found this one to be rather lacking in details.
Well this is a perfect time to explain. Will you upload your game play with explanation? Or if you already have please post the link. I would like to see the rest.
I'm disappointed in this tutorial. There's very little explanation of the modes and how to complete them. Right off the bat there's more yelling at the machine than instruction and it's easy to get lost really quickly, which isn't helpful at all. Nice quality, but it isn't as much a tutorial as it is a demonstration with a few dank memes thrown in for laughs. In a proper tutorial, the instructor would never say "I don't know exactly what's going on here."
@@ericsvilpis1635 yup I was hoping to learn all about my "new" xmen pro but this didn't help. I did learn that I need to figure out the dead bounce. Bowen uses this technique so often! I NEVER use it.
Everybody likes this guy I don't know in interveiws he big notes himself abit I know a person who won a pinball contest when he was 14 in 1980. He's older brothers were top pool players great guy. I am not jealous of bowen but at times he gets these 8 billion or 12 billion points scores I am a player as the same as he did as a kid too on and off at times Im wondering if he is telling the truth.

This tutorials are awesome! And coming from one of pinball's greatest wizards makes this super valuable!
Great video. Wonder if Bowen could do a more detailed version going through the modes and why.
You mean like a real tutorial might? That would be rad!

He hits the beast loop so easily. I played this game and that loop hits like one out of every 100 tries

24 minutes later and I'm gonna go play my "new" xmen and still not know WTF to shoot for modes, villains and jackpots. Thanks for this "tutorial".
Great Videos as usual. Your editing has really stepped up a notch!
lol bowen is salty, pinball is fun man!!! happy to see the patreon thing is working out for ya, love seeing the tutorials. keep up the good work :)

Great ball control BUT... @ 18:35 you nudged the ball INTO THE OUTLANE!!! LOL
Another great tutorial! Laughed a bit at the very end.
lol nice shoutout to Towelie
Honestly, it almost feels like Bowen is cheating with his bloody live catches!
I played this game once but it was in terrible shape and you could hardly every make that right ramp and it was impossible to make the side ramp
I had no clue at all with the direction to shoot the balls in for Wolverine.

Nice face there juggernaut
It would be rad if this tutorial was more like a 101 course, instead of a 300-400 level course that assumes all sorts of prior knowledge...
Great tutorial! LMAO at the end of the video.... bleep!!!!!
If you don't like the machine, why make a video? This was my introduction to this machine and you just badmouthed the crap out of it...
This is not a good tutorial unless you know what is going on. I guess that means it’s not a good tutorial.

Yeah, this isn’t instructional at all. It is just a stream of a dude playing pinball. Please do better, PAPApinball.
