I also wanted to help with first Corinthians. The greek translation you spoke of in 1 Corinthians 16:2 reads kata mia sabbaton which means every one of Sabbaths. No where does it mean first day Sabbath.

Creation is thus ordered to the Sabbath, the day to be kept holy to the praise and worship of God.. Just as the seventh day or Sabbath completes the first creation, so the"eight day" Sunday, the day of the week on which Jesus rose from the dead, is celebrated as the "Holy day" by Christians, the day on which the "new creation" began. Therefore the Christian observance of Sunday fulfils the commandment to remember and keep holy the Sabbath day The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.

Doug may I humbly remind you that there are three major sabbaths in that passage of mathew you quoted. Passover 14th of abib, the feast of unleavened bread 15-21 of abib, and the feast of first fruits, the 16 of abib. It just so happens that the first two sabbaths were ending and the feast of firsts landed on the first day of the week. And because it is a sabbath holiday and on our "Sunday" it is what we referred to as a first day Sabbath. Hope that helps you in your studies.

I am trying to remind him that no one kept time or dates like that in the 1st century. Jews back then counted months by new moon to new moon and days of the week were not Monday through Friday. They were 1 through 7. If a Sabbath holiday was on Wednesday, and you were wanting to say it the way they spoke. You wouldn't say there is a holiday on Wednesday. You would say there is a 4th day Sabbath. The next Sunday, if there is no holiday it would just be first day. There way of keeping months, weeks, days, and hours, were vastly different from ours and can be confusing to us today. Hope that helps clear things up. 😊

He was explaining that Passover itself is a Sabbath. It was 3 days long. Each of those days are considered a sabbath. There are many Sabbath observances that refer to days other than Saturday. They had Sabbath days, months and years. The year of jubilee was a Sabbath. That is a Sabbath Israel ignored and why God sent them into exile, 7 years for each Sabbath they missed, coming to 490 years. He said when he did the calculations for Passover that year, the first day of Passover was on a Thursday. I believe the Passover celebration is on the 15th day of the first Jewish month, Nisan.

According to available information which I read, both 1st and 2nd Corinthians were written Circa 57 AD. The same information provides the approximate date that the book of Acts was written as circa 64 AD. Recorded in Acts chapter 13, speaking of the Apostle Paul, he and his party attended the synagogue in Antioch on the Sabbath day. (Verse 14). As he was speaking to the Jewish people it was the Jewish Sabbath, Saturday. After speaking for some time verse 42 says " So when the Jews went out of the synagogue,the gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them, THE NEXT SABBATH". Verse 44 " On the next Sabbath almost the whole city came together to hear the word of God". This group of nearly the whole city included both Jews and Gentiles but obviously took place on the Jewish Sabbath. It seems strange that Paul was speaking to both Jews and Gentiles on the Saturday Sabbath if the day had been changed. This would amount to approximately 7 years after Corinthians was written, which is the book Pastor Wilson alludes to.
The logic behind where to store what’s laid by completely disregards the text. The text distinctly states that every man is to lay by him/himself in store. This is very clear to anyone without an ulterior motivation. Only those with an ulterior motivation will ignore the text to do gymnastics with the “so that there be no gathering when I come”. Plain and simple, Paul is instructing the Corinthian men to fund a personal savings account so that they weren’t trying to collect money from their debtors at the last minute. Ya know, cause that’s how it worked back then. This narrative that the church and its lords are the storehouse and stewards is an Old Covenant manipulation and has no business in a Melchizedek priesthood. None. As much as I respect Mr Wilson’s logic on a lot of other topics, his position on this one puts him squarely in the wolf category.

Thoes who love me keep my commandments. Obeying the sabbath is the 4th command. And yet almost zero churches in america (New babylon) have worship on the sabbath day which is saturday. SUN-day its sun worship. Study the old pagan traditions and youll find thats true. Book of amos says that God stopped accepting our sabbaths and holy days and stopped hearing worship and says our sabbaths are an abomination unto him. Bible also says in the end of days there will be a synagouge of satan on every street corner. Theres a church on every corner. Most worshipping on sunday. You can go to church all you want on Saturday and still go to hell… Paul says some people consider one day holy over another, other people consider every day the same. My family and I still keep the Sabbath (though I ran away from the Adventist church) we worship and read on the Sabbath at home, but going to a building on the first day of the week to worship and serve my LORD & His body does not mean that I’m going to hell… I love you in Christ, however I encourage you to do more research than that which you have heard. And if you examine all that you have heard, you will see that what you believe to be right, for the reasons that you give are the parroted statements that have caused confusion and division In the church since day one.

So in your opinion, this is why the Gospel authors referred to Resurrection Day as a "Sabbath". It was the Sabbath of the festival of First Fruits.

The first day of the week starts at sundown on sabbath. The first believers probsbly met after the usual sabbath celebration.
The sabbath is on fixed days of the biblical month. The 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th of the month.

That is not correct. The early church hafe been worshipped on the 1st day of the week since the 1st century.

It also says 6 days you shall work. Do you work 6 days a week every week, no exceptions?
