Day 12 - Wednesday 11 September - Belorado to St Juan de Ortega
Another day with perfect walking conditions for Kiwis. I started the day without a jacket but most other people were cold! The temperature felt just like home to me :-)
It’s a long slog up to the highest point at 1120m and I don’t seem to getting any better at climbing!
The walk through the plantations of oak and pine is very pleasant and easy but it is still a long day and I was delighted to meet the ‘food car’ volunteer and enjoy some cold watermelon. He wanted to talk about the All Blacks.
St Juan de Ortega with its population of just 50 is all about the pilgrims and I enjoyed sharing a meal with other peregrinos. Buenos noches.
