This song used to make me cry in my angsty day. But today it makes me cry for a different reason. About a year ago I lost my best friend Cecilia due to a fatal car accident. She was your biggest fan. She showed me your music and used to sing them at the top of our lungs while getting stoned and being reckless teenagers. The adventures we used to have will be with me forever. I just want to thank you for making music and being such an inspiration in her life. Your music made her want to help people and inspired her to keep going. Christopher Drew you are a good man. I just wanted to share with you how much your meant to her and how you are in my memories now. Thank you for your gift.

32 here. I never realized how this song is so relatable to how I felt growing up. I’m glad things have gotten a lot better.
When I was in middle school I was singing this song to myself and my great grandmother overheard me. She was the one raising me and she knew I had a lot of problems, so after sitting there and listening to me sing for a while she asked me if I was singing something I wrote myself. Looking back on it over a decade later it's so sad. If I heard this song come out of my own kid I think I'd cry.

I cannot tell you how many times that I've listened to this song and just cried. This song is my favorite song, and has been since the second I heard it. Chris is one of the reasons that I am alive today. And I think that people need to realize that some of the things he taught us is forgiveness. And to not judge. So don't you dare judge him on the Bryan Stars interview. He was going through a tough time.

I've grown up in a small town where theres nothing to do. The only thing that keeps me sane is my guitar, and my music. I started smoking with I was 14, and smoking marijuana soon after that and I am not ashamed. Like I heard stories about him being awful to people, but I was talking to him and dancing with him throughout the whole night. He was super friendly though cuz he was so drunk 😏😂, but he was really nice to the people there

weird how this songs describes my life almost perfectly. i was 11 when i first started smoking cigarretes, when i was 14 i didn't give a shit about school and skipped classes all the time. by the time i was 16 i've already tried a lot of drugs, i loved weed and had alcohol problems, i almost died because of this. and when i hit 19 i left my home and started living on the streets and later in a van, watched all my friends leaving because of their university while i stood in that garbage town searching for food in the trash or finding a new place to stay every night

I think Chris is an amazing person because he never had love (or so it seems) and yet he writes songs about how he wishes he had and how he thinks he's falling for a girl etc. it takes skill and a big heart to do that
This song makes me want to cry. As a middle child, I was hurt by the decisions my older siblings were making which caused division between us when we were teens. Honestly, I wasn’t the nicest person either, so I don’t blame them for not wanting to stick around. Now 35 years later, we are making amends and really valuing each other. We consciously don’t dwell on the pain, but we consciously acknowledge the hurt and we consciously move on. I stress “consciously” because there are so many families that won’t budge and they remain broken. It is a conscious effort by everyone to grow in love. I’m so grateful for my family.

i saw him sing this live in joplin, his hometown, over the summer, seriously the most emotion ive ever seen put into a performance. It was so good , and basically made me want to cry, and especially knowing his dad and everyone were there, it was crazy good and sad at the same time.

He sang this song at a concert and started crying mid-song, he invited everyone up to stage who knew what he was talking about and hugged them and listened to them, I was there. I didn't go up, because i hadn't been through that. I wish I could go back to that concert now, and go up on stage with him. And cry with him.
