The people dissing the interviewer really need to do some self-reflection. Yes, the woman says 'like' too much. Yes, maybe she needs a few more at bats (baseball term meaning opportunities to hit the ball) to get her interviewing rhythm down, but the passion and knowledge is there. She created a great dialogue here and will be a great interviewer one day if she wants to be. Let someone grow and ask yourself, why do I feel the need to make a negative comment about this? What am I contributing to the conversation? I don't think Sofia would appreciate her 'fans' making such useless, unkind comments.
I agree, this was a great dialogue and she managed to elicit some great answers and we gained a great insight into ..what is the female equivalent of Maestro? Sofia's writing, producing and directing
As far as the interviewer saying like all the time im a mileneil im just so used to hearing that so much i just zone out on that word sometimes. Apart from her saying like all the time i actually think she asked some really good questions. I think she was fan girling a bit but can you blame her i would be fanning over so much if i got to meet her and interview her i love her work
31:59-32:18, I mean at this point, I feel like you, y'know, I mean, you got to work with Nicole kind of like on this film, but you like have such great collaborators, and you're at this point, in your career, like, is there somebody that's like, out there, that like you, kind of like dreamed of working with, that you like, hope maybe, y'know what I mean, is there, are there still people out there, that like you want to bring into the fold at some point?
No doubt the interviewer is well informed but she was not the right person for this. The questions lacked depth and were stream of consciousness like. She also seemed really nervous and anxious which is understandable (I would be too if I were interviewing Sofia Coppola) but it affected her speech and detracted from the conversation.
I couldn't get through to the end. Did the interviewer ask Sophia about how she works with the DP in terms of lighting choices? She tents to be quite naturalistic.
Love Sophia, unlike this interviewer, who fancies herself such an insider - no need to use last names of the people being referenced. Perhaps she never thought anyone outside of AFI might watch.
I donno about you but like, who chose this, like, journalist to be on film and, like, interview Sofia, because she, like, doesn’t seem to have the necessary skills to, like, do this professionally. I, like, don’t, like, like it.
you would expect that the host would be more articulate and not.... "like" "like" so much....hard to listen to a host with such a poor vocabulary. Perhaps the AFI could not find someone else to host?
Apart from her fantastic directing (and screenwriting) skills, Sofia has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard...
It is distracting that the interviewer says like so much but still the conversation is great and loaded with interesting content
This is one of the better interviews with Sofia. She's very articulate.
I love Sofia Coppola's films. She's a brilliant creative director. Sofia is so thoughtful in her answers too.
She's a super intuitive / sensitive person. It really shows in her interviews and films
Shes one of my favourite directors i love her films
Really more of an in-depth talk about The Beguiled, but it was nice to hear Sofia asked about a few general points as well.
Listening to her voice chills me out
Shes so laid back and cool

Why is no one addressing how Sofia sounds like a crackhead most of the time who says a bunch of nothing? LOL

The interviewer didn't really bother me. I actually didn't notice her repetitive speech until I read the comments 😂

LMFAOOO
The framing used in this video is really good.
please help me count how many time she said "Like"
The interviewer didn't even say hello...

great!!!
An interviewer should never say «like» every other word. Unless it's a teenager, perhaps. And that's not the case.
I couldn't get through to the end. Did the interviewer ask Sophia about how she works with the DP in terms of lighting choices? She tents to be quite naturalistic.
wish the host would use the mic
Any new movies I subscribe to nearly all the ott channels like amazon netflix etc❤❤
Every time the interviewer says LIKE she should get an electric shock.
Haha this made me LOL

Like like... And like.. Like... Jeez.. Nervous interviewer? Sofia great as always
Great interview but too much 'like', takes my attention away from the replies to the questions.
She did have a lot of good questions though, especially in regards of the creation process.
