Great ride Jim, those were some impressive stacks and I love your music selection, I went to the theater to see, (to live and die in LA), that was a very dramatic movie back then, I still remember at the end credits, the cruising down the highway as the vocal portion of the song says the movie title Nice!!
Great I-110! The stretch between the 1-105 and I-10 is my favorite! Loved too the vintage photo of the US110 at the begining with the four-level interchange at far. Beau travail!
Just watched "To Live and Die In LA" last night, for the first time ever! It was a great movie! Probably never would have really heard about it if it weren't for watching this video and hearing the song. :-D
Awesome! I had no idea where that song came from, lol. Guess I'll have to watch the movie now. I must say...the downtown stretch of I-110 was pretty well constructed and designed, considering its age. Too bad it's often overwhelmed with traffic, but Caltrans does a good job of maintaining the overpasses. I'll be driving this on Friday for the first time in 5 months; thanks for reminding me why the 110 is a fun ride.
This video is a success and I love that composition you used. I love to see those controlled access highways in Los Angeles, except heavy traffic. The worst part of Los Angeles is *what I hate again.* : 4:22 One day, in a sunny day, after crossing under Judge Harry Pregerson Interchange, continuing straight in the Harbor Freeway, there was a *traffic jam* towards downtown Los Angeles heading northbound of the Harbor Freeway (hate to see traffic in LA). The next day, the flow of the Harbor Freeway became smooth and the weather was cloudy and looked almost foggy, but I'm sure there wasn't any fog in there. Also, weren't those HOT lanes for FasTrak closed in that time (not the next day)?
Wang Chung "City of the Angels", Sir that is epic retro 80's track. I had not heard a "Wang Chung" track since the 80's. Amazing that LA looks so 80's! Good job.
One Day You Are In SoCal, May You Please Do A Video Of The Interstate 10 Freeway Between The Kellogg Interchange And Interstate 15 Freeway, Which Is The Section Of The I-10 Between San Dimas And Ontario
You're great guy! Saw videos of 110 North/South direction, now I wanted to follow this route in reverse, and you made exactly this video!... I'm looking to know the main freeways of Los Angeles, and is too much!... Thank you!...
There was a mistake found in this video. The 2013 map says drive along the I-110/CA-110 northbound and there's no ramp linking to I-5 southbound via CA-110 northbound. It would have said take the Four Level Interchange and turn to US 101 southbound to the San Bernardino Split to I-10 like in the footages themselves.
Loved the video and I think the 110-101 fwy interchange is also used as a truck route to make the 110 fwy to the 5 fwy ruck route via the 101 and 170 fwys
The bridge you go over at the start of the video, sure looks like the one in the scene at the end of the movie Gone In 60 Seconds. Am I right in thinking that? Great video, and the choice of song was awesome. I'll have to watch To Live and Die in LA, someday.
You got free flowing traffic into downtown on the 110 in the morning? I thought, "He must have got that footage on a Sunday". I saw the captions at the end, and, what do you know, I was right! Great video, by the way.
+Freewayjim OK!...What a pity...Because I'm doing these tours by the main cities of the world, and it would be nice to have a well skilled labor to do this!...
Living in Phoenix, I can tell you that every time I go to LA, I feel like a backwoods hick it is so much bigger and more cosmopolitan than Phoenix, despite Phoenix being the 5th or 6th biggest city and 12th biggest metro in the country
you got off at the wrong part! The 110 north of downtown is terrifying......I had a friend who lived in highland park and I would take that freeway to get there. The exits are horrific and are still from the 1950's when tops speeds were 45 to 50mph. They aren't the nice exit ramps we have now, the they are basically forced 90 degree turns!
All the shame now in kos Angeles California captual Sacramento we need ur help with organize crimes it's under alote of crime suspects on prooertts values if ok'd buildings beeing knock down with no one's authorization or safe guide lines too back it up.commiaion police

Thank you, I enjoyed that movie too and this was definitely inspired by it.

Excellent video as always, Jim! Thanks for the ride.
Thank you very much!
Love that interchange! The best and most amazing in all off Southern California, that I know of! Slammin! :)

Glad you enjoyed the movie, thanks for sharing that.
:)
love all the interchanges, flyovers etc, great ride

I mean CA 110. Bahhhh.
Glad you enjoyed it and I think you'll enjoy the movie as well, some awesome chase scenes.

If time and traffic cooperate.
@@Freewayjim Okay, Thank You!

+SANDRO Thanks!
Well done Jim! I guess you can put that notch in your belt now.
Thank you sir!
I pretty much grew up on the Harbor/Pasadena Freeway. My parents and I would drive it every other weekend to Altadena to visit my family out there.
5:46 is that a car stopped in the middle of the road?
Yes it is.
Wow, that's dangerous
@@louiszhang3050how that's so cool once i saw a black hatchback stop i'm the middle of the freeway at night with emergency signal

Yes, I made a mistake on the map, whoop-de-doo!
This is geat

Thanks, and I think that is correct.
Woh😮 the car was stopee in the middle of the road?
Awesome video , as always !! ... Thanks for the ride
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
When I'm leaving LA and I get on the 10 fwy going east back to Arizona, I think of Jar Jar Binks' line "WE-SA GOING HOME!!!" :)

+BoratWanksta Thanks, I never saw "Gone in 60 Seconds" so I don't know but it would not surprise me if it was.
Thanks anyway, Jim. I'll one day rewatch Gone in 60 Seconds!

Thanks Steven, yep I had an excellent Sunday morning on the freeways before leaving for Las Vegas, I got a lot of good footage coming up.
Great! That first major interchange is simply extraordinary!... You make videos of other major cities of the world?
+SANDRO No, I have not been outside the US.
+Freewayjim OK!...What a pity...Because I'm doing these tours by the main cities of the world, and it would be nice to have a well skilled labor to do this!...
+SANDRO This is an expensive hobby and I have a real life so I do what I can on my vacations.
+Freewayjim OK... Very good job... Congratulations!
I love this song, btw. ;)
Thanks, it's a great instrumental.
Is Vincent Tomas bridge the boarder of Long Beach and San Pedro
For the most part, yes.
A Wang Chung "instrumental" yeowtch. Definitely one to add to the chase.

FirebirdCamaro1220 Los Angeles is the 2nd biggest city in USA and New York City is the 1st biggest city in the USA
would love to cruise thru there in a 69 GTO Judge--nice drive

I filmed that section in both directions in other videos, see #13-31 for southbound . Actually that road was built in 1940.
Freewayjim cheers! I'll check it out......the first time I drove it I couldn't believe my eyes.......then I almost died trying to exit!
***** That's why it's listed as a "Parkway" :)
I filmed it northbound at night all the way in to Pasadena in video #13-33 and up to I-5 in the daylight in video #13-48.
The Harry Fox Agency blocked the video on the mobile UA-cam App.
Yes, it's not available on mobile devices, nothing I can do about it.
Thanks for clearing that up.
I Love Highways And Freeways
I have been on the 110 from the 105 to 10.
Now, I need to know the 10, 710, 05, 105 and 405!... Maybe others!...
