when I came back to the game, I figured out that the damage resistance move on spin makes you take more damage the more you upgrade it. this is a well tested game with no flaws in design!
Not only can it take less damage, negate projectiles and do a 135 dmg half health combo. Gently weeps also slows down enemies and puts a giant blue effect on their screen because reacting to WA's moves wasn't hard enough already.

Not so fun fact about current state of yba. With the release of vampirism rework, golden skin(spin's move that gives you damage resist) got changed, now instead of making you take Less damage, it makes you take More damage, and it has been like that for more that 3 months. Almost a key part of the spec is fundamentally broken and even better, it can be fixed by changing "-" to "+" in it's code.
I don't think the current power creep is due to monetization given the fact that Uzu isn't releasing skins with his new releases. I think that Uzu feels a need to slowly overhaul everything to bring it to the precedent that Stone Free set. If Uzu never decided to take that year long exploitation break(he was in school so I get why) then I doubt we'd see such absurdly powerful things. Uzu took too long and forgot how beautifully simple the game used to be. In one of your older videos, you mentioned that you felt as though the combat was just a happy accident and I think with every update this thought is vindicated.

One problem I think is that a lot of the new reworks have at least one true stun move for combos. Like, Crazy Diamond has Rock Trap (hated that move since it got reworked), White Album has its Ice Trap move, Soft & Wet has the Bubble Trap thing, Vamp has its counter, and ig the Scary Monsters rework also has one of those. Stuff like the old boxing Eye Gouge at least was counterable because you could barrage against it, but ever since the Crazy Diamond rework, they stopped doing stuff like that, meaning they're just true combos with nothing to be able to counter them with.
The combo that eclipse showed us dealt 135, however flash freeze has a big and goofy ahh hitbox so it can be extended using jaw breaker -> flash freeze -> haymaker, effectively dealing an extra 50 damage or so
I'm actually glad they're making more stand than just the "main ones" (Star Platinum, The World, Tusk) relevant because in JoJo there were stronger and weaker stands, but there wasn't something like "a weak stand", each had it ups and downs but... Yeah... The balance in the game itself sucks.
That's true, problem being that most stands are situational and hard to make in game because it would be either too strong, too weak or just wouldn't work at all (ex: kraftwerk, soft machine, talking heads, green green grass of home, clash etc...)
Except the main ones are still way stronger. For instance, having the same or higher ping than a sp is game over, even if they suck at the game. Playing a kcr vamp you can't even m1 and have to bait 2 counters super quickly in order to use a move on them. Tusk spin is near 1 shot combo on boxing. Timestop still does half your health and people figured out how to do almost 2/3 of your health (on boxing) in one ts. And c moon still exists. The main stands seem pretty strong rn

@thunderspark1536 I think counters should be like spin counter where they just knock you away. That could fix many balancing issues. As well I think they should do what heavens arena does and have a cooldown evasive move on every stand to avoid one shot combos. Maybe they could lower ts duration but lower cooldown to balance it more

Honestly after looking at the scary monsters rework, I was able to see a combo you can most likely do unless they nerf the stand that can do over half someone's hp. Pretty sure the dino fossilization move is just the same as vamp freeze but its an offensive move instead of a counter. Yeah I am never coming back to yba lmao.
how i see it is the power creep is probably just because uzukee finds it more entertaining, more visually cool shit, it being strong enough to snap steel beams, it all seems to stem from being from a place of burnout with the older stands and specs on uzu's part and i might be wrong but im almost certain that YBA is going to change from what it was because uzu just doesnt want to be stuck to how yba used to be, so i can get that, but its just unfortunate to see the one game with loose combat other than bulwark go to the toilet

It's not that great getting a 185 dmg true combo' by a wa hamon when I'm not even a vamp user, and honestly it's sad how this game's balancing is becoming so garbage by the past few updates, even though it's never had good balancing to begin with. (I really suggest not to even bother go near a soft & wet user, they have a 90% dmg combo because prison bubble or whatever is called can go straight to beatdown and go beyond, a 40 dmg projectile, hits in ragdoll.)

Especially when you consider some of the crazy things S&w is capable of. (If it is used correctly,) It can do bubble wall, prison bubble straight into bd and its true because you're forced to block the bubble wall unless you want to get a 2 secondish stun, and having that mixed with the unavoidable go beyond hit is just outrageous and I don't understand how some of these stuff get by without even consideration on how to balance these things.

I feel like the problem with YBA isn't that everything is slowly becoming really *really* powerful (I like stupid broken stuff in games, and since everything is stupid broken I have a lot of fun with it). Instead, I think the problem lies in the simple fact that the reworks and updates are coming out very slowly. I get that reworks as massive as White Album take loads of time, but when it comes to the power creep mentality the devs seem to have, that means that half of the game's stands and abilities are now ludicrously powerful while the other half is borderline useless.
White album vamp is even worse, you just need to do this goofy combo: Land counter, Ice swipe, zombie, oblivion of death, Laser eyes (when the victim is in the ground) and do a flash freeze and say goodbye to the 90% of the hp of the enemy.
God someone FINALLY SAID IT, with the exception of pluck all reworks have been broken since release and have been making fight ended up being who can hit there 80% hp combo.
The only reason balancing is horrible is because eclipse wasn’t here to point everything out to the non existent testers. That and paragon has no idea how to balance things. Now that he’s back tho the game will get better trust
The thing with this game that eclipse doesnt understand is that it ALWAYS had broken sets like this. Very early on in the game pluck was the best spec in the game because of pierce strike which makes enemies get stun locked taking a shit ton of damage and you could deadass kill someone with that broken glitch. Next thing that was broken thats very well know is sptw which had a one shot combo with time stop and beatdown. It didnt matter what the combo was in time stop because the BD was sure enough going to one shot you after. Six pistols had a literal bug where auto direct (a spammable move) could literally target the CLOSEST people on the map going through SOLID OBJECTS to hit someone that could be on the other side of the sbr map! YOU CAN WIN IN SBR BY JUST PRESSING ONE FUCKING KEY! TWOH could literally upon release with insta kill on sight with true damage and time stop. Vampire freeze was an aoe move thats unblockable which had the most ENORMOUS range (it could group freeze people as well) it bypasses block and stuns for a long time as well with it haha being spammable. Heirophant green could kill you with lag When you use a rib cage and reset it creates the most ABUNDANT and INTENTIONAL lag spike which could literally force people to not even PLAY. Like what the actual fuck Think about how dangerous white album was with that aoe vamp freeze you could literally run circles around your enemy and spamming that freeze with flash freeze and just wittling your enemy down whilst they cant do ANYTHING whilst white album is UNKILLABLE. Tusk had a one shot combo i feel like everyone knows because of that bug. Magicians red was also one of the most op stands in its time with it having a unblockable red bind which you could land three crossfires with hamon and boom your hp is gone! Silver chariot requiem anyone remember that shit? One conquerors will and your getting your cheeks clapped 🤓 All of this shit was in the game at one point and another, and people still play it. If anything its an actual reason for why some people play the game, if you didnt have broken combos like that it would make some players straight up dip.

Don't forget it has a really good vertical, if you are skilled enough with ice skates, and you run at a wall, then jump into it, then use ice skates, you go up really fast, allowing you to climb it with ease, and if you have good timing and if you do it on the right surface(preferably smooth surfaces with no bump at the top), you can scale WHOLE BUILDINGS, THE BRIDGE TO THE FINAL BOSS, HILLS, etc...
Every game i that remember having fun playing has either died or become completely different AUT is now following that and i just cant understand why we can't just have updates that refresh the game and not potentially ruin it for everyone.
ice skate counts as a dash (and is really fast when you 1st use it then slows down) so you can stack a 4th dash on top of that to teleport halfway across the map

Yba is by no means a dead game, but the community, especially on UA-cam, is. Yba isn’t what it used to be. None of the players have a high enough iq to test anything, which is why you never see anyone finding these combos except eclipse.
"knuckle sandwich - ice sweeps - liver blow - ice swipe - ice punch - knuckle sandwich - jawbreaker" that was a near 250 damage combo on release of the rework
Uzukee needs to step up and make a big balance update because if this isn't stopped, YBA is just going to a big mess of spaghetti on a bowl bigger than you could even eat I'm sure. And that spaghetti being the stupidly overpowered stands that you fight in game modes every now and then.
I agree this is shitty balance but I do disagree with your point of power creep being done due to monetization and how old things are buffed to match that power creep. The thing about it is that in most games, power creep is unavoidable. However, that being said, I think YBA is one of those games where it actually isn't. When you have a game like this most people care about the stands just being cool, fun to use, and accurate to how they are in Jojo. So because of this, a new stand doesn't need power creep, it just needs to be interesting and different which I know can be somewhat hard to do with some stands but it shouldn't be too hard.
I stopped playing this game when you needed to be a professional pianist to win fights, so seeing that even the balancing wasn't fixed yet just makes me sad
hey, you should play some world of stands again, though the new the hand stand is a little broken it was just added and will probably be fixed eventually, but they have added multiple new stands, some new story (even if it's not a lot) and added easier ways to get stand arrows and roka's. They also added daily quests and probably one of the better things, made it so that (at least for the newer stands) you just need to attack npc enemies to upgrade abilities.

Hey, I'd like you to make a vid on wa vamp as well, the combo starts with vamp counter , ice sweep, zombie summon, oblivion, eye rays and then the big ice move that I forgot the name of. I don't remember the damage , but all of it is true up untill the last attack, where if the enemy has a counter they can save themselves but if not it's true combo and it's ridiculous.
I left the game when they reworked hamon because my builds wouldn't work. (and also my friends stopped playing the game) Just by looking at it I don't know if game balance got better OR WORSE. I don't want to come back and find out.

Go beyond isn't hit in ragdoll, just have a long lightering hitbox which make you no chance to dodge it.

Y'know, back then i was against the idea of a complete overhaul of the game, or even a sequel. But man does it sound like the better option nowadays with this kind of balancing
Don't forget it has a really good vertical, if you are skilled enough with ice skates, and you run at a wall, then jump into it, then use ice skates, you go up really fast, allowing you to climb it with ease, and if you have good timing and if you do it on the right surface(preferably smooth surfaces with no bump at the top), you can scale WHOLE BUILDINGS, THE BRIDGE TO THE FINAL BOSS, HILLS, etc...
Every game i that remember having fun playing has either died or become completely different AUT is now following that and i just cant understand why we can't just have updates that refresh the game and not potentially ruin it for everyone.

not to mention the new SM leak looks like another vamp with d4c combined with a 2 set of moves which have a bd and some what a new "awaken" as the dino form allows u to have more defense and attack (cant imagine seeing people with vamp SM on the map going rampage
Yba is by no means a dead game, but the community, especially on UA-cam, is. Yba isn’t what it used to be. None of the players have a high enough iq to test anything, which is why you never see anyone finding these combos except eclipse.
I believe most of them do, but most roblox games generally seem to barely get any criticism about balancing, leaving this stuff to last for a while

The iceberg is broken, I stopped playing this game for 1.5 years, came back last month, quitted again after coming back the same day.
I agree this is shitty balance but I do disagree with your point of power creep being done due to monetization and how old things are buffed to match that power creep. The thing about it is that in most games, power creep is unavoidable. However, that being said, I think YBA is one of those games where it actually isn't. When you have a game like this most people care about the stands just being cool, fun to use, and accurate to how they are in Jojo. So because of this, a new stand doesn't need power creep, it just needs to be interesting and different which I know can be somewhat hard to do with some stands but it shouldn't be too hard.
Alternate take: power creep exists as it is now purely because they don’t care enough to avoid it.

hey, you should play some world of stands again, though the new the hand stand is a little broken it was just added and will probably be fixed eventually, but they have added multiple new stands, some new story (even if it's not a lot) and added easier ways to get stand arrows and roka's. They also added daily quests and probably one of the better things, made it so that (at least for the newer stands) you just need to attack npc enemies to upgrade abilities.

Hey, I'd like you to make a vid on wa vamp as well, the combo starts with vamp counter , ice sweep, zombie summon, oblivion, eye rays and then the big ice move that I forgot the name of. I don't remember the damage , but all of it is true up untill the last attack, where if the enemy has a counter they can save themselves but if not it's true combo and it's ridiculous.
I left the game when they reworked hamon because my builds wouldn't work. (and also my friends stopped playing the game)
Just by looking at it I don't know if game balance got better OR WORSE. I don't want to come back and find out.
