I love this time of the year!
The weather has been weird this year. We got some snow on my work days. I was excited it was still there today. I went out this morning before dawn and could hear my feet crunching Ice with every step. Yeah, some of the snow melted and froze over night. Didn't see anything. Had no activity on cams and very little tracks. Yet the other night during a freezing rain storm I had four deer eating at my plot.
Love your content, been a rough hunting season for us so trying to pick up every tip and strategy i can! Thanks for everything yall do
Would love to see a video or get your thoughts on how predators (bears, coyotes, wolves) may impact stress on deer, and bucks specifically.

Jeff, have you ever recommended putting up a fence along a section of neighboring property to make it difficult for deer to cross to the neighbors? neighbor baits, tags out with 2 bucks then lets his friend go and shoot some bucks as well. all 2.5yr old 8PTS... and baiting is illegal in MI and DNR dont care

I got a opportunity to bow hunt in January in a cold weather state like Michigan, Wisconsin, Northern Ohio and I'm curious about the third estrous cycle or the "third rut" any help trying to determine some kind of timing would be awesome I have to the end of January for this hunt.
Hey JS - unrelated question and maybe others from my area (WI) observed this as well - I have seen, live and in pic’s, more busted antlers than I can ever recall. One of our bucks eventually had both sides busted off about an inch, or two above the skull. Think maybe nutritionally this can happen, or were the boys just more aggressive than normal?

Thanks bro I hunt on Shabbona Rd across to Riley and the stateland got clear cut and the deer disappeared not just was this hot couple years ago now it's so cold takes three days to see one baby deer I'm very disappointed in the state for the destruction of our deer it's the insurance companies that got with DNR and ruin it for us. From Vassar to Cass City to gagetown I've only seen three deer dead on road from October to now this is sad where what and why my friend from caro Michigan
Worst hunting season of my life here in PA.... didnt see 1 single deer in rifle season. Took a whole week off work to hunt and hunted every day after work.
Dang that's not good! I don't think it helps that the PGC has been hitting the does hard on public land! No need in nearly all public land...
@@whitetailhabitatsolutions9751 I'm in 4d and they upped the doe tags to 75000 this year....I dont understand how they can even justify that..I passed up 2 doe in archery season and I wounded a decent buck in bow season which really upset me. But that's all the deer I have seen since the start of archery. Hopefully I can get on one in the late flintlock season.
