I always found it strange that when musicians are interviewed, the topic is never the music. I’ve brought this up with people and someone once told me “it’s because fans want to know about the person.”
I get it, I could feel the cringe but on one hand if she was as star struck like I would have been, I would have gone full blown idiot and completely forget any of the questions I practiced before the brief interview and then feel totally depressed afterwards that I blew what could have been an amazing moment in my life. I met Lol once, my heart was racing, I made some weird phrase like "meet you so much!" shook his hand and later did a Chris Farley style "YOU IDIOT!" on the drive back home.
I got to meet Lol and his wife when their band Levinhurst headlined a show in Rochester, New York in 2004. I spent an hour talking with him on stage after the show. Super nice and humble guy. He even told me a Part 2 to the Billy Idol story, and then invited me on to the tour bus! I can't say that I was expecting that.

Any devout Cure fan will tell you it was very rare to get an interview with Porl even at the height of the Cure's fame. I feel like he was thrown to the wolves abit here and it's a little uncomfortable, clearly wasn't expecting it.
I think she did a decent job making up for the fact that she had to fill time with someone who hates being interviewed and would rather be somewhere else. It could have been far more uncomfortable than it was.
Porl is a fine guitar player but I wonder how many The Cure fans realize that Robert is the one playing many of the leads in their songs. From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea, for example, is Robert.
