Decorah Goose Cam~Mom Goose Gets Blown Over-One Egg Hatched-Blustery Day_4/22/24

N2B nest is on hatch watch. One egg has hatched. It's a blustery day. The wind sounds fierce. Mom Gets blown over but recovers quickly and gets back onto the eggs. We see a broken egg but a very minuscule peep at the chick. We're expecting two more eggs to hatch. We can hear the chick chirping. There is a brief pause in the audio where I inserted a freeze frame of the broken egg. Thanks for watching!
There are four eggs. There was a scuffle on the nest a week or so ago when an intruder goose came into the nest and laid an egg. The resident goose pair attempted to defend their nest rights which went on for several minutes. The goose laid an egg and eventually flew off the nest. In the scuffle one of the original goose eggs got pushed to the side of the nest and rolled off. There are three original eggs and one intruder egg in this clutch. This has me concerned. This kind of wind topples nest trees. N2 was toppled by a gust and it was only feet from this one.
