Jet Ski Won’t Accelerate Jet Intake Clog

- Turn off the engine and remove the clip from the engine shut-off switch before removing any debris or weeds, witch may have collected around the jet intake.
Check the jet on the back of the jet ski and also check the intake on the bottom of the jet ski for any clog.

I hope the diver was ok because that’s a divers flag to warn those on the water that he’s in the water. I’m guessing and hoping it was just a flag the diver may have left behind or the flag fell off his boat. Seaweed, grass, palm leaves and yes flags, clothing, towels you name it will most likely overheat your engine once it gets caught in the intake. Be safe out there and thanks for sharing 👍

This happened to me with a rope and with a rock once from both experiences it says exhaust basically what happens is the engine cools itself by running and sends gas to the engine but when something gets stuck it can’t cool down and overheats and sense it’s still sending the same amount of gas it bogs and smokes a lot because it’s burning high amounts of gas and also the skis computer shuts it down or limits it because it thinks something is wrong

nice video! i have the same problem it won't go ove 10mPH, jetboat shakes if i give throttle end up i found from the intake grate was a Pepsi soda cap stuck in there. removed no silver bullet on water again.

Did you see smoke coming out of your Jetski when you tried to start it?
Last night I was out with a pal who started the Jetski over a rock. I heard an odd noise and told him to move forward. From that point it wouldn’t go over 5km without smoke (guess it could have been steam , white in colour) coming out the back and sides. I drove it back to the port (3km) slowly but it stopped .5km short of the port. The engine sounds but doesn’t sound like the impeller is turning. What was strange was it started to take in a lot of water ie half the engine bay filled up with water.
I’ve tried to wash out the engine bay and attached the hose to clean out the engine. Just hoping now that the sea water that was in the engine bay doesn’t do any damage. I have to take the grill off underneath to see if there is anything stuck in the impeller but the Jetski flooding (would have sank if I didn’t get towed) is a concern

@@adventureswithrenso yeah think I found it. It’s a Yamaha waverunner fx ho,.
Looks like stones etc would have got sucked up into the impeller up the driveshaft. Driveshaft has a rubber sleeve/jacket which on inspection was burst open and likely how the water was getting in. Impeller may need replacing but driveshaft turns fine. Will know in about a week when I send to get serviced, looks like engine works ok and doesn’t appear to have water in oil which is good
Same thing happened to my seadoo the rocks usually block the impeller from moving and we only saw one Rock at first but there was more deeper in, a someone online said that it still burns lots of gas trying to move which cause smoke, lucky we had another ski tow us and nothing got damaged I would try to open it up or have someone open and remove the rocks and from there see if there’s a lot of damage to the side wall and possibly might need to be replaced

bro you got to be careful with that because it could mess up your jet ski and try not to start it so close to the shore or sea weed
Eduardo Zarraga thanks for the advise !!! I really appreciated. First I was very worry because I did not know what was happening, the jet ski lose power and every time I accelerated the whole jet ski start shaking. Finally found the issue and fixed.

@@howboutthis2110 the intake absorbed a piece of the flag that was floating on the beach and that was stuck in the intake.
