I really like this one ! the approach of the "Violent Ambassador" is great. Reminds me of one of my players : he clearly had the ambassador rôle, but was a half orc bard playing drums. He solved each conflict inside and outside the group with intimidation, and trial by combat. Most of the time, others PC would just accept since they did not want to fight their friend for so little. Really fun character. Keep up the vids !
I play as an ambassador in an OotA campaign. Our Soul and Derrendil could not manage to get along with each other, so in order to prevent a fight from breaking out during a mission critical moment I had them agree to settle their differences by means of a gentlemanly duel right before the party was about to take a long rest. After the fight they shook hands and now they get along prefectly!
Perfect! Absolutely the correct way to play an ambassador. Especially if you secretly asked the priest not to heal the looser and them them bleed out :p No in all seriousness, this is a great example of how an Ambassador can really help save the party.
My Warlock fills this role in my current party. More often than not his flamboyancy can run NPC's the wrong way but you'd be amazed what a silver tongue can get you in or out of.
I love the way you explained the juggling of duties there at the end. When I have tried the ambassador in the past I usually ended up biting off more.tgan I could chew
Apparently, I play the ambassador, I could recognize a few "traits" from the previous videos but this is the one. Even in real life I usually take up the role I think is missing, so I'm always trying to balance things out. I'm as murderhoboish as the next one, I'm not a "good" character but sometimes people can be useful.
I played a few ambassadors. Yes violence is very much an option even between party members. That being said my present one is a special case. She is a short tempered barbarian chatic neutral halfing raised by a wild band of halflings and orcs. She really isn't the outer party ambassador except when matters of belief or naturalistic balance are the topic. Instead she is brash but raised by this tribe of previously warring orcs and halflings that was only united by her parents. She is wise despite her youth and violent nature because she was raised by 2 people with great understanding of others and thier ideas.
Or as the protecter character I recently made would do go up to them and kindly ask them to reconsider as my character would much rather not have to retrieve their body so they can properly bury it or whatever ritual or they do in our setting. Dm is working on a phd and doesn't have any free time at the moment so quite a bit isn't set in stone yet. Back to my main point I didn't give my 5"9 slightly built human female expertise in intimidation because there beyond using fear tactics and from what I've gleaned so far where in a somewhat unforgiving environment that's literally in the process of being corrupted by an undead god. My characters chaotic neutral by the way, we don't just have to be psychopathic murder hobo's people.
j. KNUFFIX I think it’s absolutely possible. My Dex/Cha Fighter is designed to be an Ambassador with a Noble background. He seeks compromise and the very best deal for all involved because he wishes to be seen as a dependable person that others below his class status look up to. He does so with clear composure and sound mind. That being said, in combat and during lighter events such as festivals, he turns into a Soul. He loves to dance and will take any chance to puff out his feathers by cutting a rug and hitting the sauce without much concern for his wellbeing. Also, due to his time in the arena and his former penchant for casual love, he sees extended periods of combat and interrogation as ecstasy. It’s good for storytelling because not only do the party members see him in these diametrically opposite people, but if other people see him in these situations, his status as the Ambassador could be jeopardized/improved dependent on those he talks to. It’s a Jekyll/Hyde style of characterization.
Ambassador kills dogs, got it. Thanks!
lol

Thank you for sharing! So many half orcs these days!

Glad it could help :) Will you be trying the Ambassador again?
Yeah absolutely. I'll just have to watch this again while I'm brainstorming ideas
I love the way you respond to the dogs barking in your videos lol
We definitely need one of these in our group. Half are straight up evil, 2 are good, and 2 are neutral.

I guess I'm the ambassador of my party.
...man, I suck at my job.
Thanks for the tips, though!
Thats my Halfling druid in a nutshell
is it possible to combine multiple types of character? like perhaps Ambassador and conscience?

Sometimes I think you sound like "the spirit of Amadeus Arkham" from Batman: Arkham Asylum xD
Whooooo... I'd love to do voices for games. It must be so much fun! Thank you.
I will have to give it a listen and going to take it as a compliment :P
Hahhah xD indeed it was.
:)
Almost down-thumbed for joke about killing dogs. :(
