ABOUT…
I am Rebecca and I am one heck of a passionate vocal coach/singer/songwriter/impressionist/health/fitness/self- improvement/anything that makes me smile!! I love anything vocal/singing related and geek out on it every day. I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2017 and my ovaries and fallopian tubes. The tumour was the size of a 20 week baby!! However, despite not being able to walk for a couple of weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…?

My language spanish and speak english and I don't understand all what she says maybe the 70%, it's not easy for a non english native speaker to understand all what she says about the song because she sometimes uses an specialized language.
She’s crying because she wrote this song to an ex that broke her heart, she said she went through a trans of emotions and deep depression. So when she sang that song it was very emotional.
and eventually started thinking suicide :( i love the song, her interpretation, and the fact she wasnt able to finish the song

It’s a very emotional song. The title literally translates to “Your lack of loving” and the whole song talks about the relationship being over and what she feels now. The chorus is all “come and tell me the truth, have mercy on me, and tell me why. Why did you stop loving me? I could still handle your lack of loving”

Hi Rebecca, we latinos always appreciate when you react to one of our artists, there is an acoustic version of this song in which Mon shows a great control of her chest/mix voice and it is absolutely clear how this kind of "push" that she does in the high notes is a stylistic choice, take a look at it if you want.

Singing in Spanish is much harder than doing it in English ... because of the vocalization of the words .... it's that simple.
Literally!! It's MUCH easier for me to sing in english than in spanish
Honestly. I was always out of breath during mariachi lessons but could breeze through other songs
I could never sing in English because of my Spanish accent because I grew up singing mariachi. I always felt bad

I think It depends on your native lenguage, because for me Is easier in spanish because thats my native laguage, but harder in english because Im not use to way you pronounce words

Me encanta como ella sintió el sentimiento de la canción a pesar de la larga flecha del idioma entre el español y el ingles. Mon tiene una forma de expresar las emociones tan bien, al igual que con su voz trasmite emociones. Simplemente me fascina.

I think this song is very similar in style to Cecilia, of the “la nueva ola Chilena”
and the lyrics themselves are incredibly heartbreaking. this performance never fails to make me cry (and i've never even been through a heartbreak lol). she is such a powerful woman.
This was a reaction video I wasn’t expecting. Mon Laferte doesn’t get enough recognition in the US. You should definitely check out more of her music to listen to on your own playlist! She’s so unique and such a great vocalist and has created so many beautiful tracks! And more reactions to her music would definitely be much appreciated!!!
As a Chilean myself I am very proud of having someone as Mon Laferte representing us. I hope all/most Latinos feel the same as me.
A few years ago I was bartending at ACL, and this woman and her band blew us all away. It was the only thing I remember about the performances that year, and that includes both weekends. They need more recognition. Everyone behind the bar and in line was enjoying every minute. Thanks for the video.

I cried the first time I heard this song as well, it described everything I was going through at the time… in fact I have cried multiple times. I love it, helps me ventilate my emotions.

You should do a reaction video to the new viral Christmas song by Sam and Roseanne Clegg called Christmas has changed, I think we would all like your opinion on it. I’m surprised no one has done a reaction video on it yet, but it is only a few days old so maybe that’s why.
She sometimes cry singing that song cuz is a really emotional and hard song about her ex, if you translate the lyrics you can se how deep it is.
One exceptional lady, the reason for her crying, her boyfriend at the time had cheated on her and she was devastated to the point of suicide ( luckily didn't happen). That was the song she wrote, which translates into; your lots of lack of loving...

That’s the kind of passion we can transmit in spanish, don’t get me wrong, music and true art in general is beautiful, but there’s just something “extra” with romance languages when it comes to singing at least.
