I highly recommend to react to "TORMENTO" in live Viña del Mar festival. Mon Laferte is very passioned and dramatic on her performances. It's really nice to see her at live. The last part of video has a very emotional ending.
She is from Chile but has been living in Mexico City for a long time. Mon Laferte wrote this song after his ex-boyfriend cheated on her before their wedding. She was struggling with depression and this song helped her at that time of her life. There are many concert videos of her when she sings this song and begins to cry, it is absolutely amazing how even crying she can sing it without any problem. You should listen to other songs of her!
This song is about when somebody cheated on her and she is asking him why did he do that. Ven, cuantame la verdad... Como fue que me dejaste de amar? - Come, tell me the truth... How it happen that you stopped loving me? And that is why she sings it with a feeling. That's a true artist, not just vocalizing, but also giving the song an interpretation.
Hello, how nice to hear the opinion of an expert. I am Chilean 🇨🇱, like MON, unfortunately here she was never valued, she participated in a youth talent search program in 2003, called Red vs. Fame, there she did not win, I think it was third place. Then, without being anyone in the music scene, he emigrated to Mexico, where he took off his career, became known in many countries, began to sound paradoxically in Chile, prizes later came, and even obtained a Latin grammy. A hug from Santiago de Chile 🇨🇱❤️
No, de hecho salió segunda detrás de Carolina Soto (que por cierto, no se le ha visto mucho). Ah, y no es necesario traducir el nombre del programa. Pero en cuanto a lo demás, totalmente cierto 👍

Wow!, you really know your craft. The song is about having a meltdown, its called "Your lack of loving", and she's on the edge singing, "why?!, why did you stop loving me?!". Laferte has stated that her songs may sound simplistic but they are not easy to sing.
She is very passionate, the song is beautiful if you look at the lyrics... This is the kind of music that you play when you have a broken heart 💔... Super good!

MON LAFERTE IS MEXICAN She was mentioned in some interview what Mon Laferte and Monserrat Bustamante are different people or person cause she makes like Mon Laferte thing that she would never do as Monserrat. So the artistic concept of Mon Larferte borns in Mexico after the cancer that she suffered. Its like Alberto Aguilera is from Paracho, and Juan Gabriel is El Divo De Juarez.

Mon Laferte is a Chilean singer, who became known when participating in a talent-seeking TV show ... After several years of an outstanding musical career in Chile, she emigrated to Mexico where she made her great leap to international fame.
I appreciated your comment on the difference between singing in Spanish and English (or other languages, for that matter). I've seen other reaction videos about this performance and no one else mentioned it. I don't sing but I studied languages and even just speaking X language makes you change your register, and sound in a very specific way (that you also instinctively change when speaking another language). I can only imagine how this affects your singing, so I'm glad that you acknowledge the difference language and accent can make.

Very good critique, that pushed quality is, IMO, the factor that differentiates this song the most. This song was so popular here in Mexico for a pretty long time!
I think Mon Laferte sounds much better live than on her albums. She's so authentic and love how she mix our latin roots in her songs. When you listen her singing live you can feel her energy, her passion, love and pain. Going to one of her shows it's an amazing experience. And PLEASE, as I read a lot of comments above, you should listen and watch Tormento, specially her performance at Viña del Mar. You'd literally cry your eyes out with that performance.
More Mon suggestions: "Tormento" - the live version from the 2017 Vina del Mar festival in her hometown in Chile. Anything from her most recent album, "Norma." The entire album was recorded live in the studio in the span of an hour. I recommend "No Te Me Quites De Aca" and "Quedate Esta Noche."
Dear Beth,i speak spanish ..I from Perú and i love Mont Laferte, she’s a great singer chilean, she’s a best. The chords of guitar🎸🎶 to this great song “TU FALTA DE QUERER”(“You lack of love, affection”) are: A, Fminor#, D, Dminor, E, E7. Grettings from LIMA(Perú). I hope your answer.
In pleasantly surprised to see Mon Laferte as the subject on this channel and further more surprised of the amount of people who have requested her music.
Beth you should get the lyrics of this song Mon Laferte says so much in this song, that with the words you will get goose bumps and also as here she is singing live, she does cry due to the passion of this song.
I don’t understand why people is always trying to “own” a celebrity, if she weren’t famous nobody would care where is she from. Mon has a special talent, it doesn’t matter her nationality or ethnicity. She doesn’t belong to us Mexicans or Chileans. She was born in one country and made her life and career in a different one, sho what? Just let her be and enjoy her gift to us.
I really like this song "Tu Falta De Querer" by Mon Laferte, it sings with emotion and conveys everything it feels to those who listen. It is a sad song because it was born from the end of a relationship, where she felt very bad and even had depression. This song made Mon career grow, and today she is one of the most heard singers in Latin America. I like the authenticity of the lyrics and the way she expresses it through her video clips and shows, for me Mon Laferte is an extraordinary singer, because she can charm and thrill me when she sings.
This song is very difficult to interpret, because of the emotional load, and because of the intense variations that it has, that is why many have failed miserably in live auditions with this song, it is a beautiful song with an impressive power, but what could ridicule a singer, if he lacks the power and vocal right technical to interpret it
I see the comments, but no one commented the fact that she wrote and sang this song because she was in a deep depression and was spiraling in alcoholism because of her breakup with a long term partner. She was balling through out that performance and she fucking nailed it.
I wasn't expecting to see one of my favorite singers here... now I've seen two of my favorites here: Matthew Bellamy (Muse) and Mon Laferte (from my country, Chile)... I love her so much because of her interpretation, she knows how to make people feel the lyrics even if you don't understand the lyrics, you feel it! That's how music is so magic and powerful!
Omg I was going to suggest her as an artist to review and you beat me to it....this song always makes me cry so much so that I cant do it on karaoke in public
Hello, I was very pleased to see your video reaction of Mon Laferte, is a singer with a very powerful voice, as Alejandro Sanz said "Your gift is a beautiful and unique gift, you sing with the rage of a thousand hurricanes and with the sweetness of the cry of a newborn child, "Sanz wrote in a photograph of Mon, I hope he continues to delight his voice and interpretation, I live in Boise Idaho USA. and I learned about Mon Laferte last year watching the vineyard festival ... And speaking of this festival I invite you to see one more singer, Luis jara song: "Things change", and another song, "Tomorrow" live. Spanish: Las cosas cambian" & "Mañana" (Festival de Viña). Thanks for reading my comment. From a humble admirer.

You're awesome Beth, I really love how you appreciate music from wherever country it comes, there are a lot of latin artists who deliver precious and emotional performances, would be excellent if you could listen to singers as Juanes, Kany García, Carlos Rivera and Natalia Lafurcade, just to mention a few.
I spontaneously started counter-singing "All of me" over this. I had a look at the lyrics and it would also match, two people sort of talking past one another about their love in different languages.
@@iangillham9647 Yeah..didn't it...and then I used my a combo of my very bad Spanish and google combo and realized that the lyrics meshed perfectly with modern society with man and women speaking different languages when it comes to love!

That's a true artist, not just vocalizing, but also giving the song an interpretation.
react to Tormento de Monlaferte at the VIÑA DEL MAR FESTIVAL, you will be shocked, overwhelmed, 100% recommended 💖

Mon Laferte, Natali Laforcade, Lila Downs, La Santa Cecilia, These ladies are killing it! Absolutely stunning!
Pero en cuanto a lo demás, totalmente cierto 👍
all the passion comes naturally from the lyric, the lyric is everything !!!

Mon laferte is crying in the end of her song...see the video one more time. Im from Chile, saludos!
Super good!
Me encantan sus reacciones y cómo es que entiende la esencia de la canción a la perfección sin necesidad de conocer el idioma.
She sing about how her love left her (that really happend to her, i believe her boyfriend cheated on her). And she is Chilean, but lives in México.
Im Brazilian and found her some timr ago, she's amazing!
you have to react to Natalia Lafourcade "hasta la raiz"
and more Muse too 🤘🏽🇬🇧😏

No girl, Norma Monserrat Bustamante Laferte is from Chile.
MON LAFERTE IS MEXICAN
She was mentioned in some interview what Mon Laferte and Monserrat Bustamante are different people or person cause she makes like Mon Laferte thing that she would never do as Monserrat.
So the artistic concept of Mon Larferte borns in Mexico after the cancer that she suffered.
Its like Alberto Aguilera is from Paracho, and Juan Gabriel is El Divo De Juarez.

The way she sings this particular song, has so much anger and feelings, cause she was suffering so much at the point of taking her life when she wrote it, but Is this same song that opened a lot of doors for her and we got yo know her...at least in México. She was not well known until this song, and she is now really loved here ☺️
Please react to more of her songs ....you will be amazed as I was when I started to know more of her music...all written by her......I was dumbfounded by her voice...Cheers.
What a talented voice she has! I had goosebumps throughout the video😍😍😍
Mon Laferte is a Chilean singer, who became known when participating in a talent-seeking TV show ... After several years of an outstanding musical career in Chile, she emigrated to Mexico where she made her great leap to international fame.
YEEEES finally someone reacts to Mon Laferte, I love her voice!! I'm so excited that I'll get to hear her live next week :)
gracias a usted por hacer que la gente conosca mas a su majestad Mon laferte
Mon is so sweet and powerful at the same time.
Beth, she literally cried. She sang from her soul, this song in particular has a very powerful meaning with which everyone can identify themselves
She is a great singer, she is so passionate when she sings specially this song because of the meaning behind it. Please do another one 🙏😬
Hi Beth. Although Mon is living in Mexico at the moment, she is Chilean.Good description. Bye!
Even though this particular one is not my thing, I love that you're introducing me to so many new styles.

More Mon suggestions:
"Tormento" - the live version from the 2017 Vina del Mar festival in her hometown in Chile.
Anything from her most recent album, "Norma." The entire album was recorded live in the studio in the span of an hour. I recommend "No Te Me Quites De Aca" and "Quedate Esta Noche."

You should react to the Mexican legend Juan Gabriel. He was so passionate when singing ❤️ specially Yo No Nací Para Amar
Amor eterno from Rocío Durcal (escrita por Juan Gabriel) would be a great choice to make a video too.
A la madre mujer super cancion que lástima que grandes cantantes y compositores como jg ya murieron

In pleasantly surprised to see Mon Laferte as the subject on this channel and further more surprised of the amount of people who have requested her music.
I didn't expect this at all; that's awesome!
Beth you should get the lyrics of this song Mon Laferte says so much in this song, that with the words you will get goose bumps and also as here she is singing live, she does cry due to the passion of this song.
You are amazing, you are open to different cultures, and can’t believe you are reacting to Mon Laferte!!!
Me encanta que les parece asombrosa la pasión con la que canta el latino
La cantante mas talentosa y exitosa del planeta. Gracias por la reacción.
Wow thank you for reacting to so many Latin artists. As a Mexican it brings me a lot of joy! Greetings from Texas!
This song is very difficult to interpret, because of the emotional load, and because of the intense variations that it has, that is why many have failed miserably in live auditions with this song, it is a beautiful song with an impressive power, but what could ridicule a singer, if he lacks the power and vocal right technical to interpret it
Wow!!! Thank you for doing a reaction to a chilean singer, she's amazing, her real name is Monserrat Bustamante.
Her real name is Norma Monserrat Bustamante Laferte, Mon Laferte in honor her mother and grand mother....
OH HELL YEAH BETH!!! Was not expecting this! Mon is phenomenal. Check out "Amor Completo", which is her iconic song or the emotional "Tormento".
Thank you girl for this she has the best voice
I see the comments, but no one commented the fact that she wrote and sang this song because she was in a deep depression and was spiraling in alcoholism because of her breakup with a long term partner. She was balling through out that performance and she fucking nailed it.
Deberías escucharlas subtituladas para que entiendas el sentimiento y pasión de las canciones que analizas
I wasn't expecting to see one of my favorite singers here... now I've seen two of my favorites here: Matthew Bellamy (Muse) and Mon Laferte (from my country, Chile)...

Sounded exactly like All Of Me, to me!
@@iangillham9647 Yeah..didn't it...and then I used my a combo of my very bad Spanish and google combo and realized that the lyrics meshed perfectly with modern society with man and women speaking different languages when it comes to love!
