Ann Wilson. The greatest female voice to ever grace a microphone. She never got the recognition she deserved because the music industry deemed her to big(weight wise). But that woman, both of the Wilson sisters are rock and roll royalty. However much recognition they got it wasn't enough.
American rock band Heart covered it on , and this version reached number one in the US and Canada. In 2007 Celine Dion recorded it for her album Taking Chances.
I saw them live in 1978. Who else thinks that Nancy is so badass when she is on her knees, then bends backwards and lays flat, still kneeing and is still playing the guitar full force, solo??? That my friends is amazing!!!
Alone is my fav song by Heart. But this entire album was amazing: "Never" was a powerhouse vocal banger, "If Looks Could Kill" had a great rock vibe, and one of the only songs Nancy ever sang lead on: These Dreams - which was a HUGE hit in the mid 80s.
Love this song..it also gives you an idea of just how good they really are. Nancy Wilson is ranked in the top ten greatest female guitarist of all time, plus her vocals are crazy good. Then Ann Wilson with her killer vocals and she also plays several instruments, formed one of the best female rock bands ever.
Heart ❤️ they are phenomenal the ultimate ladies of rock… too many good songs to recommend beyond talented!! I’m so happy to see y’all get into these amazing gals… Happy Valentine’s Day to you two & baby girl ❤️❤️❤️
The thing is, 70's artists like Heart were having trouble selling records in the 80's.... Not just them - Aerosmith, Kiss, Thin Lizzy, Queen, U.F.O. , Blue Oyster Cult... were all selling poorly by 1983. So, in 1985, Heart was given an offer by Capitol Records - an 80's 'glam' image makeover... and a team of songwriters to give to the band to perform. Somehow, it worked... the 'Heart' album in '85 was a huge hit on MTV and sold 5 million copies. This album 'Bad animals' in 1987 sold 3 million copies.
the fact it had gals that were easy on the eyes in MTV lineup was a major part of that reemergence. Good looking and glam appearance was key in that era.
Ahhh Heart and the 1980's... all that big hair, lace gloves, frilly blouses, kinky boots, half a metric ton of Max Factor... and that was just the drummer dude.
You've seen the stages of Ann. Young Ann in Barracuda. Now this Ann. And then the Presidential Honors Ann that sang the tribute to Led Zep. It's like a journey through her 'look' as it was realized in various eras of fashion. (I see the other guitarist (other than Nancy) is using a left neck on a righthanded guitar.)
The Wilson Sisters Are Stunning In This Video. Loved it since it came out on MTV. Ann's Voice Cuts you like a Knife and Nancy Riding towards the Camera on that Horse😲. Your Girl Looks very Pretty Also. Keep up the Great Job you Two. 😁❤🤘
Oh sweet!!! Some 80s HEART!!!! Check out the song These Dreams on this same album and is sung by Nancy Wilson (the sister on guitar) with Ann singing back up!!! It's also a great song as well!!! 🤗❤✌
Throughly enjoyed your reactions. 🤘❤🤘 Ann is a powerhouse singer and Nancy still holds the title as best female guitarist... according to a Rolling Stone & Guitar World vote. A lot of people believe Ann & Nancy formed Heart in the 1970s. They actually didn't. Heart was formed in 1963 by lead guitarist Roger Fisher and bassist Steve Fossen. They hired Ann in 1970 and Nancy in 1974. Ann & Nancy took control of the band, in October of 1979, when Roger Fisher was voted out. Steve Fossen left Heart in 1982. The Wilson Sisters are still going strong, with two solo albums coming out this year.
When I was 19 I was out in California on the sunset strip. I was and still am a guitar player. I played in many different bands back then. I met the Wilson sisters at the Whiskey bar where we were playing with Dokken that night. They were the only famous band I ever met out there except for OZZY but he was passed out drunk on the floor so I never actually met him. It was cool to see him though. Dokken was just a bar band then. It was a big deal to meet HEART even tough they were pretty wasted. Everybody was drunk or high back then. They said something to me but I can`t remember because I was smashed and high on weed. I remember that they were good looking and I probably said something stupid but can`t remember. It is all a blurr. The 80`s is all a blurr to be honest.
Second concert I ever went to was Heart in ‘87. (First was Loverboy. Lol) I was only 12, but I still remember how freaking awesome they were... and still are!!! ♥️🔥
Floor Jansen (Nightwish) has done a cover of this, definitely worth checking out, as you are currently just getting started on your Nightwish adventure.
saw heart live twice, they were incredible, my favorite concerts with female lead singers heart, pat benetar, joan jett and the blackhearts, alone was used in many movies and shows, killer song, the best cover i've heard is by the 6'1 dutch valkyrie queen floor jansen of nightwish she sings it with no musical accompaniment
I don't know if you guys will see this but I figured to suggest another female fronted group that I'd say is on par alongside Heart for this day and age, the group is called LoveBites. Asami the singer of the group comes from a long history of 7years in R&B. The bassist Miho and drummer Haruna founded the group for a vision of bringing metal out of it's dark history it's had for the longest time. The twin guitarists, Midori comes from another group I recall is Battle Beast(?) however my fan favorite of the group is Miyako, at first started out as a classic pianist and recently picked up guitar. There's no better solo or I call a "battle of the twins" when these two play in any of their songs as each piece is about empowering and enlightening ranging from "Glory to the world" "Set the world on fire" "Edge of the world" "When destinies align" "Thunder Vengeance" and more but what caught me into them was "Swan song with Chopin etude" which was their message to the metal fans they promise to pull metal out of the long darkness it has been smothered. I'd love to see your guys reaction on them as I feel they could use some more notice when they were kinda screwed over from the pandemic during quarantine when they sold out for 40 or 60 venues in a lot of countries they were supposed to tour at the time. Be safe and be well, apologies for the drawn out comment as I could ramble about music for too long as I'm a music junkie always looking to find good groups to put my childhood favorites at rest or to create cross playlists of the old with new😅
Ann Wilson is one of the three best female vocalists of all time, singing a killer song, and all you say is: "I wonder who sampled this?" Forget today's DJ copycats and computer tuned fakers and listen to the original music for its own sake and greatness. Comparing this song to anything from today's sample-heads is sacrilegious.
Bro, my teens, where were you? Hormones 110 percent and I married the most awesome woman in the world! She succumbed to cancer in'15 the love of my life bless her! Anybody who knows her Will agree! Not trying to get sympathy, but just saying the Mrs was all about the hair bands. I miss this woman every day of my life! These stupid 80's songs bring a tear to my eyes because she loves our youth so much! Damnit you have My eyes teared up and I hate every one of you
The Wilson sisters!!!!!! They were AMAZING, can y’all also listen to their version of Unchained Melody and All I want to do is make love to you?!!!!!! ❤️ Carrie Underwood did this when she was on American Idol, did y’all see it there maybe???
This is an awesome song, but the video is difficult to watch. This song was released during the height of MTV. The MTV executives thought that Heart needed a makeover to appeal to the MTV generation. Ann had put on some weight. If you notice we don't ever see a full body shot, and she's in all black. They even styled her hair in a manner that would camouflage the fullness of her face. I have no idea what they were thinking when making over Nancy!
They are amazing. Having said that. This video cracks me up. I love that for no reason Nancy rides a horse through. Typically cheesy MTV. Btw at the time it was super cool. I thought so anyway.
Ann Wilson best rock voice in history
Ann Wilson is 74 and singing her heart out. She is stunning live, has lost not nothing!
Nancy also has a powerful voice. These Dreams and Will You Be There In The Morning showcase Nancy's singing!
These Dreams was on all the time when I was a kid - and it's never gotten old. Still sounds fresh as hell.
Stranded
Ann Wilson. The greatest female voice to ever grace a microphone. She never got the recognition she deserved because the music industry deemed her to big(weight wise). But that woman, both of the Wilson sisters are rock and roll royalty. However much recognition they got it wasn't enough.
Nancy and Ann are my favourite siblings in music.
I love all genres of music, but the 80’s is by far the best decade of music and talent !
70s
@@Jessedog11 YES the 70's !!!!
both decades had awesome music, 80's my fav!! Love the 70's, too!
Truth!!! I’m an 80s girl. My two sons always say the 80s had the best music and they wish they had grown up in the 80s too.
Bc no auto tune straight instruments and TALENT😊
The blonde sister, Nancy, sings lead on These Dreams. It was their first Number One hit.
My favorite song!! 🙂
no she doesnt, back up
One of the best female vocalists of all time! Great choice!
I'd say THE best.
Gotta get these kid to do Linda Ronstadt.
No one can match Ann's voice. No one
American rock band Heart covered it on , and this version reached number one in the US and Canada. In 2007 Celine Dion recorded it for her album Taking Chances.

I saw then in 78 also in Dallas what a show
Man-o-man that voice... that voice
"never" is from their 1985 album. So is "If looks could kill"

@@OfficialLifeWithRecklezz take on me a ha the video 🔥🤪
BTW Nancy Wilson has a cameo in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. She was the lady in the corvette
70s and 80s and 90s had the best rock ever
My first concert. Mr Mister was their opening act.
Carrie Underwood performed this song on American Idol and has performed it live with Heart as well...
Nancy is one of greatest female guitarists...👊👍😎
#HEART🔥🐐🔥
64 yo guy here and man the sister's are AWESOME..........love them.
Listen to Alone by Heart at the philharmonic. She's 65 y/o and still hitting those notes. Amazing!!
Anns voice. .. my goodness.

Saw them 2 times unbelievable group so talented
She has got a powerful voice !!!
Also in their 80s run are songs What About Love, Never, These Dreams, If Looks Could Kill, Nothin At All.
Original Barracuda release was 1977 and Magic Man was 1976
Rolling stone said this is the greatest rock ballad ever
The 80's was the best decade for music.
Ahhh Heart and the 1980's... all that big hair, lace gloves, frilly blouses, kinky boots, half a metric ton of Max Factor... and that was just the drummer dude.
Saw them on 29/02/1988 at Newcastle City Hall UK. They were superb, Ann's voice & Nancy's underrated guitar work. Happy days.
These ladies have been rocking since 1967! Rock on guys! Thanks!

Mike Reno [ LOVERBOY Ann Wilson [ HEART ] ALMOST PARADISE From the original Footloose soundtrack
That feeling when you're one of the greatest female rock guitarists ever but your sister is Ann Wilson.
One of the best concerts I've been to.
My favorite Heart song.
Nas feat. Kelis sampled Heart's Alone and also G-EAZY.
Love HEART, they don't have a "bad" song!!
And Floor covered it multiple times of course, one about an year ago or so.
You should check out Heart songs from the 70's like "Barracuda", "Crazy on You" and "Magic Man".
Also - What about love. Their other big hit

Fantastic intro, piano or guitar intros are so catching and powerful

Heart, at this time .. they were untouchable! The power of her voices was something 👌
Iconic Rock Goddess’s!!!!
Thanks for reacting to this great song.
Someone did a mash up of songs from 1987 a couple of years ago and the piano bit was the last one on the track.

You've recently been introduced to Nightwish. You may want to check out their singer Floor Jansen's cover of this song on her UA-cam channel.
Yeah Alyssa Reid sampled it in 2011...called Alone Again.
All I want to do is make love to you - is a deep song. The story is crazy
Insane story! 😳
I love that song!!!
Nice twist!
80s love songs ❤️❤️❤️

I got 2 tickets for their Live Performance---July 9 th in Glasgow
Crazy on You, What About Love and Dog and Butterfly all great songs.
This is a Heart song.
The piano on this sounds similar to the guitar riff on "Dream On" by Aerosmith. That could be what you're thinking of.
Yes!
The beat at the beginning, you were thinking of “listen to your heart-D.H.T”
G-EAZY (Alone) sampled it with the lyrics. Nas feat. Kelis (Not Going Back) sampled the piano.
Check out “barracuda”or “dog and butterfly” or “coming straight on for you” by heart
Check out this song live with Carrie Underwood. It's crazy good.
I'm 50, almost 51 and I had the craziest crush on them in highschool
Have you guys thought about doing movie reaction? I thought you guys looked like a pretty chill couple with good vibe
