    Currently in that seat of “omg how did I get myself in this situation” like literally start orientation in a few hours and I’m freaking out but trying not to freak out too much but I have the reoccurring thought of , holy crap why did I think I could do this, how did I get myself into this new position and I’m not going to be able to do it . Last night I started to relax about it but today I’m so freaked out because of this imposter sort of feeling . It’s crazy how from one second to the next I can start doubting myself and my capabilities , one minute to the next is difficult in stopping the snow ball effect

      I just started a new job today leaving a completely different job of 14 years. Information overload. Who what where, what file? But how do you know etc etc and you just think about how much of a super star you were at your last job. And now you are of no help to anybody for the foreseeable future Rough rough stuff.

    I panicked during a test when I had the answer right in front of me. I overthink too much and doubt myself to the point where i freeze up and I just wanted to run out of the class and hide in shame. But I didn’t I stood there finished my test and got a 95% I missed only 3 questions. I took a little longer then my other peers but I finished! I am trying to work on myself, and not give up.

    Great topic!! I started a new job as a manager 6 months ago and was having a bout of imposter syndrome. I asked my boss if I was doing all I should be doing and if there was anything she wanted me to do or was there anything I could do better. I received a positive response. So asking my boss for direct feedback helped me!

    Starting a new job as a manager after completed 4 days I felt something twin shadow comes out from me and start questioning my capabilities- doubting myself asking if I deserve this new role in-spite of positive feedback from my team. I’m so vulnerable to this feeling .

      Aha! Sorry i used jargon. It's when you feel like you don't really have all the skills and capabilities that you have and you don't belong where you are and someone will soon find out that you're an impostor and you feel panicky. It's not true but in the moment it feels true. Thanks for joining us and welcome welcome.

    This resonated so much for me! I was in academia and always felt anxious because of that imposter syndrome. I eventually left academia but never dealt with that feeling. I'd have loved to have advice like this back then. Thanks for sharing. New sub here.

    Why only for women? Imposter Syndrome doesn't apply to everyone?

    • @fullpotentialrealized654
      @fullpotentialrealized654  Рік тому

      Thanks for asking this question. My work focuses on fostering gender balanced leadership at all levels which we don't presently have in most businesses. So while the issues I opine on are raised to me by women and in some cases are very specific to women's experience, I think in this case yes men experience imposter syndrome sometimes too. If the video content is relevant, please by all means feel free to use it.
