Great video. Did my 2017 police interceptor Utility. I wanna make it last! Ford also declined me this service and stated it was “a sealed unit” and not serviceable.
Thanks for sharing, was dreading the process but it seems pretty straightforward. Fun fact though - heat your new fluid up before pumping to make it pump WAY easier!
Thank you for sharing. I own a 16 in the same color/ trim as this one. I’m sitting at 92000 miles and have never changed the ptu fluid. At this mileage would you recommend me changing it, driving for a few thousand miles and then drain/fill again? Or should one drain/fill do the trick.
If you are not sure if it has ever been changed. I would change it as soon as I can. For Ford to say every 30,000 miles. That said alot about this Unit.
I have a 2016 police interceptor utility with 3.7 L . I can't find anything that looks like this, frustrated beyond words😢. Something similar in the general area, and it looks like a side drain plug at very bottom side, but no filler plug anywhere higher up. I can only guess that this is different than a regular 3.5L explorer.
@dairleautoclassicrestorati6892 I can confirm now that it is different. I also have a 2015 explorer 3.5L. I just completed the service, and it was just like your video. I'll just have to take the Interceptor into the dealership . Thanks for the response and all your videos!
Good video

@BCeptor It's a shame that Ford is making it so that you can barely service the Transmissions.
