That was a great test. The DJI Mini 3 Pro definitely is quieter and steals the show. This is a big highlight in this drone because the lesser the noise the lesser the bird ladies/soccer moms Lol! Thanks for doing this test for us to see and hear👂

@@TECHDRONEMEDIA I’m wondering if the new DJI RC is wortth the 150$ over the DJI RC-N1. I would potentially use my iPhone XR or my iPad Mini 6 with the RC-N1 so should I go all in get the new RC or stick with the base combo that comes the RC-N1 ?

Great video, as always! It does look like the Autel was further from the mic than the DJi’s, which could cause a measurement difference. Also would be cool to see mini 2 result with the Master Airscrew Stealth props.

Good test my friend and yeah watching UA-cam videos on the mini 3 Pro you can hear its not as aggressive so I can't wait for mine although dji are saying they will be shipping on the 25th of May so I'll have just have to be patient well atleast I will have it for the summer holidays 😁👍👌🇬🇧

Interesting video. I have the 1st mini and it’s pretty quiet. If the the mini 3 pro is quieter than that, it would be impressive.
If you could do this test I'd really appreciate it. At what height does the Mini 3 become inaudible? (cannot be heard at all) I know that different conditions and environments would give a different result for such a test but it'll give me a good estimate.

Wow great comparison. dB (A) is not so important better is the sound frequency level, lower frequency like Mavic Mini 3 Pro feels much more comfortable 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you for this video, dji pro 3 now on order, the mini 2 does have an unusual noise to it, I even tried so called blades which were " supposed " to make it quieter, guess what, they didn't work
One interesting point with the original TASCAM recordings would be a detail comparison of the noisespectrum. Usually high energies in the upper frequencies like the MINI2 and Nano+ seem to be producing are more annoying here. Just from listening this seems to be the case but taking a look using tools like OcenAudio or something else which can produce suchs measurements would be interesting.
With 60 being considered the bottom threshold for things like normal office conversation, that is doing great!
I still look forward to when it can be 40 dB ...virtually a Sunday morning rural neighborhood level.
I had to max the volume on speakers and yes, impressive how quiet is the Mini 3!

Very nice review - Henrik !!! But it is important to remember, that human ears have a speciel frequency response with more sensitivity in about 2000-8000Hz area --- if you listen to this video - Autel have a higher frequency noise than the Dji drones !
That's pretty impressive. 7db is about 70% louder so the newer design definitely helped. One thing I'm curious about is if the drone is louder with the fly more combo due to the extra weight.

For those asking about putting mini 3 props on a mini 2. There is an efficiency curve for prop dimensions for a given motor. If you have ever put together your own drone or electric aircraft you will notice that a brushless motor has what is called a KV rating. This KV number is based on a few factors (gauge of wire in the coils, number of turns, strength of magnets etc) The KV is not something that can be changed by the end user as it is a physical limitation. Higher KV ratings are designed for higher RPM and smaller props. Lower KV ratings are for lower RPM and larger props. The motor controllers are also specifically tuned for the KV rating and prop size, prop pitch, and prop geometry for that particular setup. If there are too big of a mismatch in the parameters between prop size/geometry, ESC, and KV rating of the motor you will burn out the motors. I for one would still be interested in seeing someone empirically finding out the result though. Even if you don't ever actually fly it would you be willing to show if the mini 3 props will physically fit on the mini 2?
Regardless - the Mini 3 props are a fair bit longer. Fitting them to a mini 2 would result in the props hitting the drone body for the rear motors

I see you have mini 4 pro. Can You do test noise? Do you know if less noise than mini 3 pro?
Although not fully scientific, your test was a very credible direct comparison with a reasonably constant background level, so thank you. At 10M a level of 52db for the mini 3 compared to a level of 58db for the mini 2 makes it around 50-60% quieter and is a significant advantage if flying the mini 3 in urban areas.
Would love to know what the noise level of the Air 2S is.
Great test well done!! When will you do a range test on the mini 3? And also test the range with the new RC ? You could be the 1st with this test since no influencer / youtuber has started this test...hope this test is not prohibited by DJI for those who received the mini 3 for testing and shooting youtube videos
Soon starting to believe in conspiracies because there is no range tests. At one web page I found that RC started struggling at 1500m at beach. Some say that 600m at urban environment is the max.
@@haliputti latest from another channel is, that the current youtubers/influencers who received an early Mini 3 had to sign some sort of agreement...in which range tests are not allowed....

Does the mini 3 work in the mini 2 charging dome?
That lower pitch in sound from the Mini 3 makes all the difference.
Maybe birds won't attack it as much if it's quiet and doesn't sound like a swarm of angry hornets.

I figure the difference in the noise levels is probably 'all in the prop ellers' so... obviously, would be nice if they did to enable earlier mins to be 'quieted down'. The Mini 3 is checking off all of the boxes for what I would like from my first Camera Drone.
Yesterday I've launched my mini 3 for the first flight and I was baffled buy the noise, its so low !
Do this again in a more open environment away from the reflective glass and the results would be even more quiet.
Good test man, but thisis something that never bothered me, once they are in the air and moving, it's all good. I haven't had any person say to me your drone is too loud, and 99 percent don't know it's there unless I look up. or start flying real low None of them are really silent. they all make some noise.
Is it significant because its a logarithmic scale so its not much quieter. But i’ll take it!

Hi. In your experience so far, how loud does the DJI Mini 3 Pro sound from the ground when it's sitting at 400 feet above ground level? I know in summer when the air temperature is warm sound waves tend to bend upward and in cooler temps it travels horizontally or even bends downward. I'm just thinking of filming sunrises in suburbia (currently winter here in Australia) and I don't want to disturb the neighbourhood :)
I routinely fly 400ft in a suburban area and haven't heard any complaints. At 400ft, directly overhead, it sounds like a fly near you. If it's not directly overhead, its nearly inaudible. Even if you know it's up there, it's difficult to spot or hear at 400ft.

As dB is a logarithmic number if you want to produce an increase of +3 dB you need to double power,
which means that if you put 2 dji mini 3 will sound the same and maybe less as 1 Autel Nano+ !!!
You obviously got a good amount of sound reflection from the building/glass etc. What's important is these were all tested under same conditions, so for comparison it's actually preferable, since the natural reflection brings out the sound profile of all of these. 🤔
I put Master Airscrew Stealth Propellers on every drone I have that they are available for. Very minor dB sound pressure difference, but substantially lower pitch and additional smoothness makes it so I can't go back to stock now!
I've upgraded to a Mini 3 Pro from a Mini 1, and I can say the 3 is much much quieter than the 1, less aggressive and waspy.

flying with the plus bat makes much more noise because the motors are spinning faster to lift that extra 40 grams
