Today (19 feb 2021), students of the above shown ( padam zanskar) valley were airlifted to Leh by the Indian Airforce as their academic session is about to start...Hope this happens every year so that they dont have to suffer for their education🙌
The road distance from Zanskar sumdo village to Jamyang school, morte Leh is around 460 km. However the fathers take the shortest route by bare foot which goes through Hemmis national park along the Zanskar river which is just around 100 km. But this route is dangerous and tests the human endurance. Hats off to both fathers and the camera crew for showing their masterpiece to us. These students will one day become ideal for their next generations.
I experienced the hardship too. I used to walk 4km with a 7kg backpack when I was in elementary. And sometimes i don't have food to eat because of poverty. It was really hard especially when i go home because it sometimes rain and i always get wet. .though i take a bath when I arrived home so i wouldn't catch a fever. I finished my study and now I'm teaching abroad. I do believe that hardship and experience will lead you to success. Just pray and be a good person.😊
The parent’s love and sacrifice for thier children is immeasurable. I hope the kids grow successfully and love thier parents even more. At the end of the story, i cried. 😭
My parents were watching this documentary with me and they were like "I would never sent you school if this is only way to school". Much respect and love to all those brave heart parents around the world.
@@gloriatasksbirungi242 Or, maybe not. there is always, home Schooling if you have the guts to do that? A fair few children around the world are home Schooled and still come through it with flying colours. Home Schooling would be for me if I had no other choice but to do that terrible 4-day crossing of semi frozen, very fast flowing and very dangerous rivers and rocks to get to a town 90 km away. I'm vision impaired myself, so its illegal for me to drive a vehicle of any kind, but, never say never. In the meantime, I would probably homeschool my children, if and when I have children, or I'd relocate to within walking distance of the School which I wanted my children to attend and our friends and family from elsewhere could visit during half terms, holidays.
This documentary portrays the incredible determination and love of a father, Latak, who guides his son, Motup, through treacherous terrain to get an education. Their journey over the ice is a testament to their resilience. Thanks for sharing this inspiring story of dedication and sacrifice.

Who elses is in tears watching the struggles these innocent kids have to go through only in their QUEST for a proper & better education. Their struggle is real. I admired the work these great fathers have to do and risking it all just to give their children a better education for a better future. The advise these fathers gave the boys to take care of each other is the only hope they can hold on to the entire school year. They crossed one of the most dangerous ways to school on this earth togethet, they conquered it together, and all they have now now is each others back on a place where they have no close family apart from themselves. Courageous journalism job too. Shout out to you yoh.... Blessings from VANUATU
Agreed, he had a lovely wee voice, sometimes the type of singing from the Indian subcontinent can sound a bit off key to Western ears, but that lads singing was beautiful.
just tears in eyes....these kids are lucky to have such fathers...felt guilty how people in other states complain about traffic, while riding bikes and cars
Few places on earth? I agree this is an extreme example but fathers everywhere are equally important. Have you seen the statistics on those that grow up in fatherless homes? A hundred times more likely to commit suicide or end up in prison in fatherless homes.

My Heart cried after watching this Life Documentary!! Why Life is so unfair and threatening for such a sweet people!! Lot of questions rising in my mind!! Not able to express my emotions precisely here. Students in Cities hardly understand this pain including my own child and many more around living in a much comfortable space. It seems like everything is coming so easily for them. Many Parents also pamper too much to spoil their kids. Education and Good Infrastructure is undoubtedly important but right values are above all. It's not the fault of these people from Chadar who belongs to such a remote and isolated place. Education is their right too. I wish this documentary will reach to the concerned authorities at Chadar and Govt. Of India must do something or take better initiatives for the future of these dedicated students for the sake of their safety. Education at the cost of life is not a justice!! Appreciate all the courageous people to film this extremely powerful life story. My Salute to the Extremely courageous Parents of these Kids. My life looks really meaningless working for profit making corporates. I often think what am I doing!! making useless presentations for corporate jerks, atleast I haven't worked with a single sensitive person who think about other's life or talk about such issues in Society!! These idiots talk about their own interest and they are concerned about their own progression and job security only. Nothing beyond this. I am into Nature and wildlife photography for last 15 years. If I will be given chance I will definitely work and love to be part of such a documentary projects in India and to cover such sensitive issues in my home state Uttarakhand.

Some parents don't do anything for their children sadly...I just pray that when I have my own children, I will do everything for them and not put them through bad things🙏
But there are some parents who live for themselves, thats good, but tells everyone that they worked hard for their children and they got job because of them. And everyone turns to the children and ask how cruel are you.
Those in the video have good, loving parent's. Otherwise they would not be going to school, the children would be put to work completely aside from help and chores.
A big salute to both the fathers. What they doing now is incredible for their child's future. Big ovation to the camera crew and team who had helped to document this awesome journey with them. I felt so much emotional, when the fathers returns home.
Amazing. The determinations to attend school. And the fathers. Wow. What they go through to get their children to school. One half hour and they have to return that dangerous trek. Talk about Fathers if the year!
After watching the documentary I remain speechless my heart is overwhelmed,Wish all the kids that strive hard along with their parents the very best and bright future ahead
Que padres mas admirables llevan a sus hijos en tremendas condiciones por una mejor educación en cambio hay padres que los abandonan, que buenos padres ❤❤❤❤❤
After saying good bye to the children at school, i can notice Dad is hiding his tears behind his eyes and later says he does not want cry as it can make the children cry even more. No one can describe Dad's affection, who sacrifices everything for his children. That is why in India, we are taught "Pitru Devo Bhava” means “To consider your Father as God". 🌺🙏🌺

india is a country with the diversity of a continent. Each state has its own unique geography, culture, language, ethnic groups (note - the people in this video have an oriental phenotype. the people of eastern and northern india often fall under that category, differing from your standard mainland indian who is of a mixed caucasian-related & dravidian phenotype.) and, to an extent, religious makeup. You are far better off comparing it to other continents like Europe or Africa than treating it like its just a country like any other.
Being part of same region called ladakh. To be honest, we don't need any sympathy and pity from anyone ,but what we need is our basic rights which is enshrined not only in indian constitution but one of the SDG's objectives i.e access to quality education and health care facilities for all. We love to be who we are , where we are born. Ladakh is unique world in itself which is base on buddist philosophy especially compassion and love to all including ecology and environment.we may not have luxurious foods to eat ,alishan house to to live but we are very much happy to eat our local dishes and live simply in our little house which is made up of muddes ,bricks and stones stick and woods. This documentary remind me of my child hood when we used to play with snow ball with friends. Those children who got golden opportunity to educate themselves are few but what about others left out without education facilities? Govt. And civil society must bring facilities at doorstep instead of few hand picking child.
Brother BJP is trying to give you everything. They made you UT and then also installed Electric Grid in Leh city which is generating 45 Mega Watts power even supplying electricity to remote parts of Ladakh. And the new Bilaspur - Leh railway line will usher a new era for Ladakh as you will be connected to the rest of India by rail. Plus another good news for you the BJP Government has also been busy in making land laws for your people to protect your land rights. So sit tight brother we are all Indians and will support our brothers and sisters in Ladakh. Jai Hind Jai Ladakh 😍🇮🇳.
@Parth Arjun excuse me sir..! How is it human nature to deprive education and health to it's citizens? Instead of making funny excuses and mockery, we should try to bring transparency in governance.we need active participated in governance and walk on progressive path of development. In fact it's not about any particular region in indian but same problem is facing every nook and corner of country. The paradox is few elite class are enjoying the benefits in post independent India, even though those few elite rode on back of mass indian on the pretext of giving them quality life but nothing has happened till now. Our farmers brothers are suiciding every day and women becoming insecure in every big cities.etc etc. Of course the problem of quality life in UP bihar is not due to human nature but human created problem, see the population data one in every 4 child is born in this region every day. So I think some of fundamental issues are not sth related to human nature bhai.
Focus your eyes on the one who’s bones cannot be found on this earth. The one who gives wisdom , knowledge and talents. Focus on the one that cannot be contained in any rock or piece of wood. Focus on the one who has his eyes set on your people. Focus on the one who prepared a firm path to eternal life. On the one who hears your yearns and is just waiting to reveal himself to you if you call out his name “ Jesus “ he will hear your concerns . He will bless you and save you for eternal life. Man and government are not responsible for you God almighty Jehovah the 1 true God will respond for you if you call out his name “Jesus” . Believe in him and acknowledge him as the True living God and I know he will respond to you ! Much blessings in Jesus name. He died on the cross and rose from the grave for our sins and now sits on his throne . Repent of your life without Jesus and start over walking with Him by faith his path is the only way to heaven . His love and mercy is enough to be forgiven . He came to rescue us all from the wickedness of our enemy it is precisely our sins that he died on the cross for. Jesus is the light of the world .

India is beyond your imagination dude...
India has all kind of geography. Most media wont show this.
India is the second most geographically diverse country after the United States.
india is a country with the diversity of a continent.
These legendary Fathers 💖! I felt like crying when they wave goodbye. You little children keep going, we’re proud of you!!! See you in the future.
