    Nice vid! Also about to start kitting up for some fatbike adventures this year. Nice looking bike as well! I’m also an advocate for frame protection, do it on all my bikes. Subscribed!!

    What a set-up! I have a bunch of "ride out your door" bikepacking trips this summer. That intro was great by the way lol

    Very nice video, I will be purchasing the Arkel frame bag. No bikepacking trips firmly planned for this year yet. I did 3 trips last year as I was laid off May- August due to Covid.....perfect time for a get away. I live in Pickering and did the COLT loop which I highly recommend if you have about 5 days. I enjoy your channel and your content, loved your “first” bikepacking trip you did with those guys and Paulo.

      The COLT is on the list but i'm not sure i have big enough tires too make it through the full route haha. Thanks for watching, hopefully see youo out on the trails!

      Yea I would recommend 47mm tires minimum if you dont want to do a lot of hiking as opposed to biking. Hope to see you on the trails as well

    Very artistic video but killed me just wanting to see how the bags looked (and loaded with gear) and what you thought (not sure you had an opinion).....

    Josh, great video on your new bags and your upcoming Cannonball 300 ride - looking forward to seeing the resulting video. I do more bike touring than packing and use MEC front and back panniers and an old Blackburn frame bag. The frame bag has a serious zipper issue so it's days are numbered - I will definitely look into the Arkel1/2 frame bag you got. On my previous cross Canada bike tours in 2018 and 2019 (Victoria to Ottawa so far) I ran into quite a few riders that used Arkel bags and they all loved them - and yes it's nice to support Canadian mftrs. The other short rail trail ride I want to do again this year is the G2G (Guelph to Goderich, approx. 130km one way) - I rode this last year just as they were finishing up applying the stone dust on the Goderich end but this year that trail surface will be perfect. Again, looking forward to your upcoming projects.

      The G2G is on the list too! That's what's been so fun about learning more about bikepacking/touring is that it just opens up so much more of our province to some fun routes and you see towns you never would have!

    Arkel doesn't list a thickness measurement. Can you let us know unloaded and fairly loaded? Thanks.

      i'm not sure I understand what you mean by thickness? Do you mean volume?

      @@joshwhitee hey. Basically how wide it is between your legs if you're looking down at your top tube while riding. So if the bag is flat on the ground, how thick/high is it.

    I love Arkel but their framebag blocks the bottle and it's a deal breaker for me.

    • @joshwhitee
      @joshwhitee  3 роки тому

      That was the only issue I saw as well, but a simple fix is to just get a side cage which are actually better in my opinion. Just sucks that I have to buy new cages when I had these colour coordinated with the accent colours on my frame haha

    Nice video! I'm interested in these bags have a few questions: What size frame is your bike, and how wide is the inside of your handlebars? I run a 52 cm frame and fitting bikepacking bags can sometimes be an issue. I do have a rack and a pair of panniers I can fit on my gravel bike, but that's about as aero as a garage door. A frame bag is probably not an option for me if I want to keep access to both my seat tube and down tube water bottles...wondering if I could get by with the rollpacker 15 up front and the 25 at the back (and skip the frame bag). Cheers from Montréal!

    • @joshwhitee
      @joshwhitee  2 роки тому

      I have a 56cm frame. the carbon tubing in the frame is a little bigger as well which makes the inside triangle a little smaller. Arkel has a really good sizing tool you can find on their site when you go to their frame bags section and scroll down to determine which frame bag you should go with!
