Great bit Keith- thank you. I have a Chigee which is like the Carpuride with CarPlay but smaller, for me just the right size, and supports TPS which is a plus. Recently Chigee just released a Bluetooth ODBII and offer a KTM cable that I’m excited to test. Cheers & Happy Holidays!
I have the Carpuride w603 on my DRZ400S and am moving it to my Tuareg 660. It's a great size - identical to an iPhone Pro Max for reference. It even matches the tempered glass screen protector from the iPhone which is handy.
Evotech make a Quadlock adapter that replaces that plastic piece on the back. I bought two of them but found out later they don't fit the 6 inch version haha. That adapter might allow you to center the display on your handlebars so you can see the dash.
It's not too bad. My phone is an iPhone 11 and the battery isn't great anyway, so I would typically charge it at lunchtime when I was charging my Sena. The phone dropped from 100% to around 60% after 4-5 hours.
Gaia is great on the desktop. I had not used either on CarPlay, and had not paid for either, so had to choose one since the free versions are limited. I chose OsmAnd.
I wouldnt use it for off road, better get a rugged phone or a tablet, everything out of that garmin will look good, but there's a lot of limitations in android auto, if you use some layers in osmand maps it will be very slow and slughish , for that road bike with google maps or waze it's a must have for the price. There's 3d printing models for the rear to remove that ball and use it in crossbar or just like amps mount
I purchased the Carpuride w702, it glitched like crazy with switching off randomly, volume issues and the imitation ram mount thread was locked up. Other issues were measurements provided were wrong and it didn’t fit the mount I had. I requested a refund and after 15+ emails with videos and photos demonstrating all the issues total frustration I only received a part refund. It was one of the worst online purchase experiences I have ever had. Buyer beware.

Merry Christmas from a cold Sweden!
Same to you! My partner is there at the moment, she's been in Abisko for the last few days and it's been -20C.
@@keithjob Abisko is nice. I grew up in Lappland, not too far from there!
Good review Keith 👍 would like to see a review of the smaller unit you spoke of too. Also be keen to see how you had it mounted to the bike exactly.
I have a RAM ball mount on one side, and connected the unit to it via a standard RAM arm.

The 603 is the one I want to test.

Great review Keith, Thanks.
How was it for draining phone battery due to Bluetooth connection all ride?
Cheers. Jim. Uk.

It looks good. Just use a digital dashboard. How can you see those tiny exc dashs any how 🤔
I noticed you also had Gaia app on your unit. Do you prefer OSMAND over Gaia ? Been playing around with both as a backup to my Zumo XT
