This is so cool ! I sure hope the birds come to Cog Hill . MC will love having them to watch along with you and Jason ! Thank you for always making homes for so many animals and birds . Blessings to you all.
My father was a Purple Martin lover as well. I remember you have to clean out any Sparrows nesting in there until the Martins arrive. Once Established, they will keep the Sparrows away.
Oh Brooke, seeing you put Purple Martin houses up, just warms my heart and, it brings tears to my eyes. I grew up in a tiny town here in IL and my dad ALWAYS had Purple Martin houses. When they moved to Crossville Tn to finish out thier lives, dad had the Exact set up you do. And, he was quite successful in having several pairs come every year, sometimes upwards of 20 pairs. So, you might end up with two poles eventually. They are absolutely Beautiful birds and they have the sweetest sound, you'll, so enjoy sitting and listening to thier conversations. As tears are starting to flow now, thinking about my folks and how much I miss them both, I'm overjoyed, that my FAVORITE channels, the Cog bunch , are going to get to enjoy, the Purple Martin's, just as my mom and dad did. Many many Blessings to you all, Laurel 🥲🥰🥰
We had a Martin house when I was a kid. They send out scouts first. We always waited for the scouts and would clean out our houses then. Sparrows will nest in the houses so cleaning when you see the scouts helps with the timing. They are so pretty to watch and have a delightful song to listen to. I am envious.
I’m amazed at the ingenuity of the new birdhouse! My father used to make things like that. He’s been gone for many, many years, but that reminded me of him. This birdhouse condo will be a real treat over the summer to birdwatch!❤❤❤
I love Purple Martins. Wow what great bird houses. I have never seen such interesting houses for the birds. That will be great for the garden. Have a great day. God Bless.
I love that y'all are helping Purple Martins. While living in the country, I had them nest on the side of my house up in the corner where the roof peaked and met the house. It's very cool watching them swooping and diving to catch insects.
My mawmaw lived in iuka, MS and she always had homegrown gourds that she used for Purple Martin houses. She passed at 101 yrs old about 15 yrs ago. She would be amazed at today's Martin houses!!
The Purple Martin tree is really pretty. This is probably the neatest one I have seen. The houses are so different from what I have ever seen. I hope and pray you have some this year.
Interesting setup. My concern is the hummmm of the power lines. If they come but don't stay, that may be the reason. With all these frequencies changing over the years, it might be a bit of an overwhelming thing to these precious darlings. They don't eat bees - do they?
Jello guys,I must know those gourds are quite modern! Back in the day, people used gourds they grew for Martin housing! I think you will enjoy watching them and appreciate the benefit of having them!
This is fascinating to me. Me being a native Coloradoan, I’ve never seen a purple Martin or anyone set up “house” for them. I can’t wait to see what happens. Thanks for sharing this with us! Y’all have a wonderfully blessed day!
Any purple martin would be lucky to have you as their landlord! If i were a bird, I would love it! You're place is beautiful, even though I know it's a lot of hard work for you. I hope Brook's health issues are figured out as soon as possible so the two of you can work & enjoy what you've made together. Thanks for allowing us to enjoy it also! Have a nice Sunday! 🤗
Love this idea! I saw a UA-cam gardener who had charming individual bird houses on poles around his garden area for natural pest control. It looked like a miniature village. ❤
Those birds are soooo beautiful!! I sure hope we get to see some there❤️❤️❤️!! Thank you guys for expanding my knowledge… I learn so much from each of you!!!
I thought that, but I assumed that the designer who I assume was helping Jason, has put up enough to know what he's doing, so I am hoping that the apparent distance is an optical illusion and that there's more room than it appears. ❤❤
My dad put one up one year next to the pond. They like to be near water. The first couple of years they did well but the wasps decided they wanted it for their house before the martins came back so that was the end of that.
You're going to have a large community of Purple Martins for MaryCarl to film. It's awesome! The setup is very clever and looks inviting. Great job as usual!💕
My father had a Martin house he put up every spring. The sparrows would try to nest in it, he had to remove them and re hang the Martin house. The Martin's eat lots of mosquitoes.
How cool! I can't wait til the birds get there! Prayin for you knee Jason and prayin for your overall health Brooke. That is a really cool bird condo! God bless.😊❤
Tht is such a good idea Brooke! I no Mary Carl and Jason will love the idea also. Jason had a good point about keeping the bugs away from garden too. U all r so smart!
😁 If I was a purple martin, I would love to live in one of those sky high luxury apartments overlooking a veritable smorgasbord of edible treats! 🥰🐦 Have a beautiful blessed day Smith family 🙏🏼💖🕊️
I love watching your videos, Brooke and Jason ❤. The animals are so important to everybody even though I watch them and not eat them. Thank you so much.
It's about time! I was wondering why you didn't have a Martin house. My grandparents had them in Kentucky for years. Yup, the gourds were hung all around for the birds.
We have purple martins every year. They are located between our garden and fruit trees and I love their chatter as I work in the garden. They only eat flying insects and their favorite is dragon flies. He located yours perfectly as Martin's love to sit on electrical wires close by. Good luck on drawing them in.
What I used to like to do with those purple martins is to watch them swoop down when the cat goes by I know they only do this to protect their babies. But it's still fun to watch them do that I love my martin. But up here in northern Michigan we will not see them for a while. I know you're going to love yours too. I sure hope you're feeling better God bless and take care.
My Grams had built 2 condos for the Purple Martins. There were 12 houses on each one. 6 in front and 6 in the back. Martins do a good job on the bug population. She also had a couple bat houses. Something else you want to consider putting up is a couple of bat houses as well.
Wow! You two are wonderful stewards for fowl, manuals, land and birds. This new bird house is going to be exciting to watch. Brooke, I’m hoping and praying for good health to return very soon. Keep the faith! 🙏
How exciting that will be. Hope they come along..If they do and have good experience their family will be back next year to set up residency . I love birds.
I'm aware of purple martin bird houses. The Boy Scouts would build them every year and sell them. This was a great, informative video Brooke. I so enjoyed it.
“Build it and they will come!!!” ❤️❤️❤️
It looks very futuristic and made me think of the Jetsons 😂😂😂
That nesting is an amazing place for the birds. Thanks for sharing these beautiful jouneys. ❤😊
You taught this old lady something new this morning.
Love Jason's Outlook on natural pest control with the Purple Martins.
I've always admired those with PM houses
Just watching you set this up made my heart happy this morning.
This is so cool ! I sure hope the birds come to Cog Hill . MC will love having them to watch along with you and Jason ! Thank you for always making homes for so many animals and birds . Blessings to you all.
Such a cool contraption for the awesome Purple Martins... hope they fill them all!
It’s amazing that Purple Martins know the houses are for them!!! 🥰🎶❤️🎶❤️🎶❤️🏡 🐦 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Good morning Miss Brooke. I can't wait to see how many Purple Martin's come to reside at the condo. Very well placed! They're going to love it!
Worry it’s so close to the big power lines
When the birds arrive, MaryCarl will probably absolutely love watching them. ❤️
My father was a Purple Martin lover as well. I remember you have to clean out any Sparrows nesting in there until the Martins arrive. Once Established, they will keep the Sparrows away.

That's a wonderful memory, I'm in Indiana & have seen many PM 'nesting poles'...
Fascinating. I love to see people helping the birdlife.

When I mow the field at the lakes they swoop back and forth in front of me. It is such a joy to see them at work !!!
Omg can’t wait to see the birds move in ❤️🚜🦆🐈⬛🫏🐝🌻
This is wonderful. You two take care of all animals ❤ the best way you can! You love all the the critters ❤
Mary Carl is so lucky that her parents bring all the amazing birds to her.
Love the design and look forward to seeing families at the Purple Martin Hotel.❤😊
What an amazing project! Even here in the heart of the city 26 species of birds visit my garden. They are a joy to watch!
Love the purple Martin condos, Cogg Hill Condos . Thank you for their new homes.
Absolutely beautiful.
Art with a purpose.

Love how the nest boxes look like a sculpture in your yard.
My mawmaw lived in iuka, MS and she always had homegrown gourds that she used for Purple Martin houses. She passed at 101 yrs old about 15 yrs ago. She would be amazed at today's Martin houses!!
So very interesting ❤❤❤ thanks for sharing! Continued prayers and God bless!

Best of luck attracting Purple Martins! I love these birds, they are so amazing to watch in flight as they swoop to catch insects. ❤
That's an amazing structure it looks like an art installation piece. Hope ya'll have a lot of birds. It helps them and helps the farm.
I see y'all have a big bird helper. That looks like a bird watchers dream. Love it.
This is fascinating to me. Me being a native Coloradoan, I’ve never seen a purple Martin or anyone set up “house” for them. I can’t wait to see what happens. Thanks for sharing this with us! Y’all have a wonderfully blessed day!
Years ago my father in law had purple martin houses and the birds in Feversham, Ontario, Canada every year. So amazing.
So cool! Thank you for sharing this part of your adventure! Come on in, Blue Martins. Welcome to Cog Hill Farm ❤
Any purple martin would be lucky to have you as their landlord! If i were a bird, I would love it! You're place is beautiful, even though I know it's a lot of hard work for you. Wow! Incredible tower for the birds. Anxious to see them fill up. Amazing family! Thank you for sharing.
Brooke, what a wonderful thing to do for the Purple Martin birds . They are going to love❤ their little houses😊! 🦋🍎
My grandfather loved Purple Martins. He had many very high houses for them. No trees close by. He called them Country Club Birds v
Good morning y'all! I love that you keep having new ideas and implementing them and sharing. I believe you all are fine examples for us. Thank you 😊.
Those birds are soooo beautiful!! I sure hope we get to see some there❤️❤️❤️!! Thank you guys for expanding my knowledge… I learn so much from each of you!!!
That nesting pole looked so close to electrical pole and wires!!!❤❤❤❤
I thought that, but I assumed that the designer who I assume was helping Jason, has put up enough to know what he's doing, so I am hoping that the apparent distance is an optical illusion and that there's more room than it appears. ❤❤

It's about time! I was wondering why you didn't have a Martin house. My grandparents had them in Kentucky for years. Yup, the gourds were hung all around for the birds.
A lot of our Amish families here in Ohio have these bird houses in their yards. I’ve always wondered what kind of birds they were for. Thank you 😊
We have purple martins every year. They are located between our garden and fruit trees and I love their chatter as I work in the garden. They only eat flying insects and their favorite is dragon flies. He located yours perfectly as Martin's love to sit on electrical wires close by. Good luck on drawing them in.

Cool. They eat tons of mosquitos. The birds are also beautiful. I would love to have a purple Martin house but I live in the city.
I know up here in Michigan a lot of the Amish have Martin houses in their yards. I would love one to help with mosquitoes.
Once they get used to you, they can be friendly 💞
The garden area is definitely the best place for Purple Martin house!!!🥰🥰🥰🥰

Thanks for all the love you give to your farm, family and critters.
❤ Brooke here's another idea for you: do a Butterfly garden. That will attract Butterflies. Looks good. Hugs ❤ 🤗
You guys are so AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME. Those birds are sooooo beautiful. God bless you all
Thank you and you have a good day
Love that the Sheriff was quality testing the leaves. MaryCarl is going to be out there for hours if you get any birds this year.
This is such an awesome learning experience!! Thank you for sharing it!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Wow! You two are wonderful stewards for fowl, manuals, land and birds. This new bird house is going to be exciting to watch. Brooke, I’m hoping and praying for good health to return very soon. Keep the faith! 🙏
Affordable , safe housing for birds ! I wish more of the same would be done for people !
How exciting that will be. Hope they come along..If they do and have good experience their family will be back next year to set up residency . I love birds.
I'm aware of purple martin bird houses. The Boy Scouts would build them every year and sell them. This was a great, informative video Brooke. I so enjoyed it.
Wonder if gourds are better because of depth? I’d think they would keep the babies from falling out?
Awesome new addition. Beautiful new birds to watch!!!!!
