Your doing an excellent job there, a tip for you is when your baleing a small row if you hold the tractor to the left of the row for say 10 yards and then hold the tractor to the right of the row for ten yards and keep going until the bale is ready for netting you will have a lovely square faced bale that is a pleasure to build a load of them on a trailer. Round faced bales are difficult to build safely on the trailer or in the house. Great video by the way.
Ya I’m 39 years old and still haven’t been “allowed” to run the baler lol. I’ve cut, fluffed, and raked but dad, uncle and my late grandpa have always ran the baler. We don’t bale a lot of round bales or hay off our property in general. Cattle graze most of the land. My least favorite job of all is loading small square bales out of the fields. We used to own a Livestock auction aka Stockyard or Salebarn. We both bought and cut some our own fields for square bales for most of my life until selling the Stockyard. It takes thousands of square bales a year at the stockyard keeping pre sale cattle on hay (we would only do this at the request of the seller or if they delivered the cattle days prior to the auction. It’s better to sale them when not looking full up on hay or feed) and feeding the sold animals fed until picked up sometimes 2-3 days after the auction. We averaged around 1000-1200 head sold a week. More or less maybe as low as 750 head average depending on how the market and weather changes. That leaves at least a few hundred head of feeder cattle and 50-75 slaughter cows/bulls waiting for 18 wheelers to come pick them up so you go thru a ton of hay. Anyway we rebuilt most of holding pens so you could just unroll one round bale and fill two pins hay racks like that instead of having to use a bunch of square bales about a year prior to selling the place but that’s my luck I guess 🤬. Sorry this got long and I’m not sure why I even decided to post about it lol.
Them bales look fine, & with time you will know the baler inside out & how to adjust for different situations etc.Buy it of Will & you will have a good baler for years to come. You can bale yr own straw, silage, hay or even do a bit of contract work to help pay for it.👍♥️ ps. Congratulations to yrself ,& Haley on yr recent marriage.May you both have a long, happy & healthy life together with yr lovely family.♥️♥️🙏🙏
Hi Nick I used to have a Welger baler and MXM so very similar out fit . If you put the net to auto then you can set the wrap to start 3-6-or 9 seconds after the beeper goes off giving you a chance to stop before the wrap kicks in . On mine you had to reset it every time the power was switched off to the control box . Looking good 👍
that baler is running nice ........would be a good baler to buy .........looks not to have too much work done ........would last you a long long time and probably be worth good money to export .if you did want to sell it ....
Hi nick, buy the baler, wil last an age. Especially when u know where it came from. With the soft edges drive to one side if the row and keep swapping over and back every 50m or so, that way the edges will get packed up and your net will stay out the full with of the baler. Only 2 things with the welger to watch, every 100 bales or so, clean out packed grass on the frame where the door latches are otherwise you’ll get a warning that the door isn’t shut and clean any build up of grass where the knife handle is for the net every couple of hundred bales or it effects the knife cutting properly and u will find the knife going off and the net not cutting. Couple of simple tricks but great baler otherwise.
Great job mate, everyone makes a rookie error! Ran out of diesel in my David brown 996 the other day on the way to load up hay RIP! keep up the good work bud.
Good job there sir and the tm is looking rather smart in that set up. 👍. Hay also looks good hope you manage to find and get them all stacked under cover dry. Stay safe 🏴
when rowing up with the haybob leave the gates out wider so as to have a row of hay that is at least 3 ft wide ........makes a better bale that way ...........
Hi nick you are doing well with the baler if you can afford the baler buy it you can bale when you want to and you might pick up a bit of contracting 🤔😉👍👌
Good video Nick. I have been hoping to see some bales being made. They look good to me, although I’m no expert. What will you do with the one that you forgot to wrap?
Better buying a machine you no the history off there still one of the balers out there. I keeped looking at baler thinking what that balers miss then struck me has no hand rails

Don’t worry nick, my first time on the hedge cutter today cutting grass verges, I’m only 16
Great video. Looks like you mastered it. How many sheep do you have?
Only 50, but will be expanding the flock, any surplus hay gets sold to a local cattle man 👍
Get it brought.
Good video Nick. I have been hoping to see some bales being made. They look good to me, although I’m no expert.
What will you do with the one that you forgot to wrap?
