Love your lock in locks ,I have a house full of them ,love canning ,I had no idea you can can tea ,coffee and water , I’m gonna do all 3 ,just went through another hurricane ,gotta be prepared ! Thx for sharing ❤❤❤
My life just got easier!!! I am doing this TODAY! I have been making my husband a gallon of tea every day for a few months now to take to work. He doesn't like the quick brew we grew up with so I do it like sun tea in a gallon glass jug and it brews overnight. Every. Single. Night I have to prepare it. This technique will save me so much time in the mornings when I am making his breakfast and packing his lunch. I don't really enjoy it or ANYTHING at 4 a.m. Mega thanks for creating and posting your video.
I have been doing this every six months for a couple years now, today I’m making my supply for the summer, I love how easy this is and how much it is a time saver
I am going to make the concentrate without sugar, going to sweeten with stevia when I use it. I have been keto now for 3 months and my pain is so reduced. When I took the sugar out of my diet 90% of my pain went away. It is not for everyone, but it is working for me.
I've always made up extra tea concentrates before holidays and when I know I'm going to have a busy few days, but I've never canned it. We are going on a nine day glamping (camper) trip next month, so I'm going to can up some tea concentrate to take along. You are a genius, girl! I hope you're doing well!
I’ve made tea concentrate for years by the quart and just put it in the fridge then when I want a glass I just add some to my glass with water and ice. Canning it sounds great. Thanks
Brilliant idea!! When everything hits the fan a cup of either cold or hot tea will make everything seem fixable at the very least. I might even try canning coffee concentrate the same way. Have you tried doing coffee? I buy coffee concentrate so it should can well.
I have coffee concentrate on my shelf all the time!! I do a cold brew overnight (sometimes up to 36 hours) then water bath for 20 minutes. I can do a video next time I can a batch.
Okay. Hear me out. What if we make the tea (fully) and can it in quarts? Seems like it would be the same canning process, just make the tea (not a concentrate) and can it. I'm going to can up four quarts. We often have family and friends drop by and they always ask if I have sweet tea. If I have a quart canned up, I'd just open and pour over ice!
I make sweet tea out of plantation mint tea bags. I'll have to try this with them. My ex used to only drink the Lipton sweet tea until he tried the plantation mint and that's the only kind he buys now.
What type of marker are you using on your jars to write down what's inside on the side of the jars and how easy does that wipe off or wash off I'm very interested to know what you're using I gave up on putting labels on my jars and I don't like writing on my lids
I use a liquid chalk marker from the craft department. once it dries, it stays on until it gets wet, and it helps me to cycle through on sight - I use a different color every year. It rinses right off.
I made this according to your notes and it had been a life changer for my home. Getting ready to do another batch but in searching for your video I came across one that says yea is not acidic enough to can in water bath. Do you add Lennon to raise acidity or is the video I seen just putting fear in my head ?!!? Lol
I have always water bath canned it with no problems, but I am a rebel canner. I do not add lemon to it. This is one of those things that there are 2 schools - either OK with water bath processing or not, and it depends on how rebel you are. Do what you are most comfortable with in your kitchen.
Hi! I love this idea, and we go through so much tea! Is there was a point after processing that the tea gets that tannin taste? How long have you been able to keep it without it going bad? I am excited, but I tend to go overboard and I don't want to waste it! Thanks!
Question: Never heard this about tea so I'm a virgin...lol I know one pint with one gallon so you add the concentrate with cold or hot gallon water? TY

I have been cutting back on my sugar intake as well. I have actually canned some up with no sugar as well.
@@FyreflyesFollies Can you can tea concentrate with no sweetener or lemon? I have been told that it is rebel canning. Can't see why, but who knows?
I was just wondering about this same thing..your thoughts are exactly how I like it. TY
I am so glad I found your channel! We drink a gallon of sweet tea every day, & this never occurred to me.😂❤️Thank you.

Glad it was helpful!
Thank you..how many tea bags did you use?
Oh my goodness...I am a year round ice tea drinker and every where I go. Off to make canned tea concentrate. She smiles greatly!
I just did some after watching your video! Thanks!
Glad I could help!
Hello again..lol..just thought about pureeing peach and add to the concentrate tea just like you did for your lemonade concentrate🤔
it is delicious! I just added some honeydew puree to lemonade concentrate when I mixed it up and it was so good, too!!
Love this ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you!!
I love sweet tea, I'm glad ya did it. I'll have to try this
I think it is great to have it on hand!
Game changer
I think so too!

That's what I've always done, but I'm going to can some to take on a camping trip next month. We'll be in our camper and it'll be so handy to have!
Sounds great!
Great idea, I'm gonna try this, my husband loves sweet tea.
Hope you enjoy
Wow! What a great idea!

Really good idea. Never heard of this. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
This is so awesome! Thank you!
Great idea
Thank you! 😊
How many tea bags did you use
I will definately try this i hate to have to stop and brew tea for company or just myself. Thanks again as usual great idea!
Thank you!!
Is this an approved canning method or rebel canning?? Thanks for sharing your video.
So how many tea bags did you use for 6c water?

@@FyreflyesFollies 2/12/2023 I would love for you to make a video about canning coffee. Believe it or not there is only one i found in UA-cam. Thanks
I make sun tea. In my opinion it tastes better than when I boil it. Do you think that I could modify this process and still steep it outside?

I love this idea! Will definitely be trying this!
You should! It is so handy to have on hand!! even unsweetened is nice, you can sweeten it to your liking when you mix it up.
Awesome! How much water you use to make the concentrate? Thanks
3 pints of water for 6 half pints.

I have only kept it about a year, but it was fine for that long.
How about Kenning Arnold Palmer concentrate
I would think it would work the same way, just add half tea and half lemon?
Question: Never heard this about tea so I'm a virgin...lol I know one pint with one gallon so you add the concentrate with cold or hot gallon water? TY
I use cold water
Do u have a recipe book out?
Do you think i could do this with decaff tea and it would still be good?
absolutely
Is that odd jar a pint?
no, they are all half-pints, just different brands.
Could you can tea completely made?
I am not sure... I would think that it would be strong from the brewing process. try a small test batch and see if you like it, maybe?
Can I just make my normal volume of tea and then can instead of concentrate?
How many tea bags
What is the ratio with tea to water to make for drinking
Each pint of concentrate makes a gallon of tea.
Since this is hot would it keep if you just sealed it?
to be honest, I am not sure. I do not have much luck with my open kettle canning sealing for me, so I usually water bath.
I’m confused, at the beginning you said 6 cups water recipe said 3 cups water?
it is 6 cups. I have corrected the recipe in the description.
@@FyreflyesFollies Your formula says 1 cup water, 6 tea bags and 1 cup of sugar.
Shouldn't it say - 2 cups of water?
I noticed in the video you said 6 cups of water but in the written version it says 3 which is it
it is 6 cups water, 3 cups sugar (or to your liking). I have corrected the recipe in the description box.
