The world could use a lot more like Martin for sure. The fishing industy in general have always been rocky and most smaller fishermen never get paid what their catch is worth. Been there, done that. Good luck and safe travels.
Fascinating - thank you. As a one time regular visitor to Cadgwith (17 consecutive years with my late wife) I always looked forward to Martin's 'South Australia' on a Friday night!
Best of luck Martin you should take up comedy you remind me of my late and closest friend Jethro you share a lot of mannerisms if you don't mind me saying I hope your new venture really takes off regards Ken Wright.
Save your breath, praying never helped anyone. Your god either doesn’t care about the young lad or is impotent, in which case why bother with your imaginary nonsense.
Looking at this I understand that this is not something you just read some books about and go and do, these boys are highly skilled professionals. One prop in the back, tide, wind, underwater topology, and things changing while you are working. Impressed. Seriously impressed.
Thanks for your comment its appreciated Its sad to think that what Nutty revived is now a multi million thriving industry, and in the process he lost everything.
Martin was certainly a tryer, no one can take that away from him, always jovial and a big grin on his face. I used to see him at newlyn when I worked nights.
It’s unreal how much I, willing this guy on, if I lived in his area,I wuda been on that boat helping him at every opportunity,he’s a good man,and I have my fingers crossed for him that theyres an upturn in his fortune
Mike Evis lived in newlan holaday cottiige and Jonny sicola home some coke was healed up and it sparked the fishing war with Spain no comment old history as for Stevenson fish market his son was a nure in Bristol and dear Martin propped job smugglers in the sordfish great pub cheers 🦎 love I miss Cornwall but no bugger can afford too live there 😂
A. Really lovely guy and family ,but unfortunately he has no business acumen what so ever ,with no for thought or planning involved . The disaster with the pilchards tells you that .He ought to sell the lot and change tack that game is run by the big guys now unfortunately .

Martin you have shown me that amazing side of human endeavour which is so often ignored I wish you a positive and fruitful future
I just got to the bit where he hears about his crewmates son and had to stop and pray for the little fella. God bless him and everyone.

@@jedtrewin7083 my parents both from Newlyn. My heart is there always. He met the hardship with humor and resolve. I'd venture to say he is a hero.
