      I wouldn't think so as it wasn't steep enough for the bike set up. Plus he hit bigger jumps after he recovered and was back on a bike with some media and sponsorship following as to what he was going to hit next.

    A few more feet and, he would have landed that...he came up a little short on the rear wheel and, it catapulted him over the bars. Bender is a legend and, has big balls for all the drops he's done. That was a big drop with alot of consequences.

      the problem is a bike, old bikes had bad rebound. if he was dropping with new technologies, he kept riding down withot fail, but his bike catapulted him forward

      the problem was the final hit on the street that knocked him out, he shouldn't have attempted it considering the flat ending...

      @GeddyRC 6 місяців тому +1

      @@MatthiasLiutic Agreed, it would have gone far better - but that hit was still insane, he came up short. If he landed as intended ON a modern bike than yeah absolutely, he would have ended up in much better shape.

      Some folks have an insatiable craving for adrenaline. I'm not THIS crazy (probably no one else in the world is as crazy as Bender, at least in this regard) but I've done plenty of things on mountain bikes and dirt bikes that people would call "dumb".
      I think what's dumb is a sliding scale, this jump would have killed 99% of people who tried it. It's not like he went from sitting down typing comments on youtube to "hey let's jump 40 feet off a cliff on a bicycle". Cause that would be pretty, as you put it, "dumb as dirt"

    • @finleykirsch
      @finleykirsch 2 місяці тому

      Or some people want to push limits and do what’s never been done. Bender is the biggest legend in Freeride, he has made the sport what it is today. Not dumber than rocks, he is a pioneer in an era that no one had seen before. You think when base jumping was getting big everyone was just on board? Nah, those dudes were just as “dumb as rocks”. But they started something that will forever be in the history books.
