      Not a lift mechanic but I spent many yrs useing just about every make and model out there and I can say with confidence the 2 most reliable ones for me personally we're the Gradalls and JLGs. They were tough and very reliable. Dont get me wrong, they occasionally did break down but it was always an easy and quick fix. A few times even I was able to get it running lol. So i didnt have to call the mechanic. My favorite of the 2 was the Gradalls. Those things are super tough, and they had the smoothest hydralics out of all of them. If you've ever used lifts before you know how important good hydraulics are.

      Funny people hear "old lady" and think little old saint. She obviously had no problem taking her workman to court. For all you know, the guy did a great job for her, priced it just above cost of materials, and she still hasn't paid him because he left the machine there. I've seen that a lot. If he doesn't get paid what he's owed, how is he supposed to pay to have it towed? And even then she still might complain and refuse to pay. I deal with people like that more than you'd think, and a lot of them are little old ladies. They will give our there bank account numbers to scammers on the phone who say their son is arrested and needs bail money, but they will bitch and bitch about an honest job you do for them and refuse to pay unless you take them to court. And even then they don't pay -- you can put a lien but what good is that? For many "old people", it's free credit until they die or get removed to the nursing home. Don't be dense. If this woman was a "nice old granny", you'd see her out there bringing him something to drink, etc.

      Johnny Drinkard One thing if somebody I know came to me and said hey can I store this on my property for a certain amount of time or store it here and I probably would let them store it there until they could find a space for it. But the guy clearly had no permission to store it there set it for a year and let it set an old woman’s yard and I don’t think that’s right I think that if he cared that much about his equipment he would’ve made the effort to come and get it fixed to drive it out of there and he did not

    • @Ellenslife851
      @Ellenslife851 5 років тому

      Johnny Drinkard But technically the guy who owned it Abandoned it and it became property of the old woman and she chose to get rid of it on her own accord because if that guy who originally owned it wanted that piece of equipment bad enough you would’ve been there before a years Time in the head then after it trying to get it back to the shop so he could get it fixed to use obviously he didn’t care that much about it or he would not have a bandit there and she wanted it out of her yard which is only fair because it was after all her yard that it was sitting in and again if you listen closely to the video and the story behind it I had been sitting there for a year and she had even called the cops trying to get it out of there and to no avail

    • @Ellenslife851
      @Ellenslife851 5 років тому +1

      Johnny Drinkard I don’t see where he would be stealing it if the old lady wanted him to take it just because he needs a salvage title one the guy who originally owned it abandoned it himself if he had thought anything about it he would have come to get. The guy who made this video was nice enough to bring it home after trying and attempting to get it running and storing it for this guy to come and get it and he did not have to do that and he was nice enough to help out the old woman in doing so And getting it off her lawn

    • @Ellenslife851
      @Ellenslife851 5 років тому

      Johnny Drinkard Yes I understand that it may have not necessarily seemed like it was his place but the old woman wanted it gone and technically if the old woman wanted to give it to him for free that is her business because again like I said it was on her property for a year and after year I believe that is a fair enough time to say that that guy no longer owns it so the guy that originally a bandit if you no longer owns it and this guy is willing to get it back to and fix it for Him before hand tells me that the guy is just doing a honest deed for an old woman when the other guy who owned it would have never come and claim did anyways and furthermore if the guy that originally owned it never came and cleaned it and this guy never came along to do anything to please probably would’ve eventually came and took it for scrap metal and isn’t that pretty much Considered stealing as well I understand the old woman’s frustration because she never told the guy that he could keep that there.

    So in the basket controls that dial that you were messing with his the speed control and there should be a rabbit and a turtle switch that may go up down may go left right that's also going to be an indicator for your speed and motion Mobility
    Yes you were in Turtle mode and yes that's about the maximum speed that you can get and yes you use the joystick controls to drive it
    That fuel is definitely an issue by the way
    I ran into that kind of issue before and the start-stop emergency switch on the base controls is religiously an issue and there is a hand over switch that also ends up being an issue
    The siren is also not plugged in as it should be going off whenever the vehicle is in motion
    Or when the boom arm goes up and down there are a number of triggers that are going to get really annoying
    That engine system looks extremely like the JLG series lifts you may want to take a look at some of theirs for a reference
    Just for safety sake as well you need to examine the idea of having an emergency descent system in place and do not and I repeat do not go up in that thing without your damn cell phone being stuck up there with no way down and no one knowledgeable enough to work the ground station controls turns into a massive debacle
    If for some reason you were stuck in the air the person on the ground would have to switch the controls from basket to the ground station and then hold a button with one hand and press the individual controls with the others in combination for rotation and ascent and descent and boom Arm Control

    If it has a throttle body with the injectors in the throttle body (90s style GM v6 v8) check for the temp sensor the ecu pulls reading from. I had a very similar problem with a truck i had years ago in which the sensor went bad and was trying to tell the ECU it was -30degC on a 90degC day. That caused the ECU to fire both injectors at %100 duty cycle, essentially killing the engine off with fuel after several seconds. You may notice a difference if you try to start it at the coldest time of the morning when the air is coolest, that is a symptom at least. Also it is definitely a GM engine, if you can take the info from the engine a GM dealer may be able to pull some information for you. That machine maynot have support, but often enough it is just a generic engine which may have support.

They are hard to find schematics, manuals, and parts for because like he said in the vid they are out of business. Hope you figured it out, would like to see a follow up. I would think bypassing the low oil switch may help but definitely clean fresh fuel, good field pressure and power/ground to fuel system would be my top things to dig in. Also verify the LP/Gas switch is turned to gas, or get a propane tank and try to run it on LP mode. Less complicated sometimes on some engines for LP mode but sometimes opens another can of worms

    So why couldn't it be moved from the ladies property? I've hauled these things many times (running and not running) in the past with a roll off truck. Roll the deck off, hook up your winch, pull it on the deck, roll the deck back onto the truck, secure the load and away you go....... and Bob's your uncle! You definitely don't want to use a small roll off truck, go big or stay home... those bucket lifts are damned heavy.

    Hi! Most any of those machines that have the low oil/high temp shut down usually have a button on the panel that you will need to push and hold until the engine is running and oil pressure is present. Otherwise the engine will not start! It may have been the black button on the panel. Try it!

    • @raykomro

      with today's fuel... the 1st thing to do is Drain it all out...1st it's been a year since it was last used.. 2nd after fuel /w ethanol settles over a period it will separate causing the 1st thing pulled into the fuel filter to be 100% Denatured alcohol and most motors wont run on it.. 2nd the octane rating of the fuel dissipates so even draining the ethanol from the fuel won't help.. the only thing that fuel in it is good for is a fire starter but barely that...
      It's a wonder you had it running on the fuel that was left in it.. since it was sucking mostly ethanol... since it feeds from the bottom of the tank
      "As a result the octane can decrease within months for 87 octane fuels, especially when stored under less than ideal conditions. 93 octane fuels are more refined and contain more stable hydrocarbons. These stable hydrocarbons can last 2-3 times longer than 87 octane fuel."
      "Though it naturally degrades and loses combustibility over time due to oxidation (exposure to oxygen) and evaporation of its volatile compounds, gasoline usually lasts three to six months when properly stored in a labeled, tightly sealed plastic container or metal tank"
      With all that said i would Dump all that fuel in it.. the filters should have never been that dark looks more like dirt and algae buildup in it.. replace them all and start with Fresh fuel

      A lie. Different houses.
      Then you go to a stock photo of some twenty something man with a decade old phone.
      Yawn. Not the guy.
      Then you go to another stock photo of a different old woman with a two decade old phone.
      Seriously? Not even the same woman.
      Then to a different stock photo of a different guy on a different phone.
      Lame.
      Joey Salads editor is better at this. Call him. Fire yours.
      A bald spot on the lawn, and some grinding during the turn, doesn't solve your wet *clean* tire rolling off *green* grass.
      No wasp nests, no cobwebs...and anyone can call the sheriff and have it towed in 24 hours by any company with a rotator lift or a fucking snatch block.
      That thing has been there a couple of days, possibly a week at the most, though I doubt it.
      Long enough, maybe, for the short grass to grow up to almost the bottom of the basket, not through it, like it would have in less than a month making it impossible to cut below the floor of the basket, save for around the rim where the trimmer would reach. The level of lawn care to get under the basket and cut the grass would also extend to trim cutting all around the machine just as diligently. Likely, you pulled it onto longer grass and just mowed before the shoot.
      Liar. And lying for no reason at that. Just be real, the manipulation of cognitive bias is fucking shameful. We're not idiots.

    think the eaziest way to get it to run right is to make it run on propane , thats stand alone and works of the manifold vacuum , you can stil do the initial start using the fuel system and then switch to propane /pull the wire
    i dont think its the crankl sensor as that allso regulates the spark if its fully computerized (no disttributor )
    you just need to find out who supplied the engine , its usually general motors or sumting like that and based of a car engine
    GM still sells parts through the usual places

    Hey Rich those oil pressure switches are just an SPDT switch. Feed one terminal to hot or switched source, one to fuel pump, and the other to cranking power ( the extra terminal on most solenoids that will provide 12V during cranking) . It works by powering an electric fuel pump when cranking and then oil pressure makes it contact from hot or switched source to fuel pump when there's a few lbs of oil pressure.

      Actually, if you put the video on .25 speed and start at 14:21, you can just see that the grass was dead at the spot that was at the bottom of the tire just as you reach 14:22. It's only there for a split second before he split-screens the video, but the dead spot is there. The thing that may be confusing you is that because of the very deep treads, the grass was able to grow well right up to the point where a single lug of the tread made contact with the ground.
