I feel her frustration when she is over stimulated or just having a transition issue and unable to communicate it except through showing it . Love how you all push through no matter the issue she is genuinely wanted near it all .

Being an ABA therapist myself it’s amazing to see what it’s like raising a child with autism. I am not an in home ABA therapist. I work for lighthouse autism center, so I only know what a child with autism acts like in the center where we have protocols and plans set in place. It’s AMAZING to be able to see how you guys experience things at home. You guys are doing an AMAZING job, you all should be so proud! Abby is an amazing girl and she is so blessed to have the family she has. ❤️
Looks like lots of fun was had at the Blacklight Partaayyy!!!! Abbie had the best time. Boogied on down with Isaiah. Got a sugar rush from eating, most, of a pumpkin pie. Would love to have seen Isaiah and Cilla's face when Abbie came out with brown hands...😂 What a relief to find out it was, only, pumpkin pie. Abbie can look, so, innocent after getting into mischief. She gives you that cute, irresistible, smile and you can't get mad at her. That was fun! 🎉🎊

I know you hear it all the time but I just wanted to take a second to say that it is so clear that you are both amazing parents. You have cracked the code on the balance between being your kids friend/them feeling safe and comfortable enough to be your friend and confide in you and still raising kids with respect, boundaries, work-ethic and ambition. You have amazing kids and I hope to be half the parent you are to my two.

I have a Special Ed degree (in 1982-gulp!!), but for several reasons, I never taught professionally. In college, we never studied Autism, it just wasn’t on our radar. Four years after graduating, I gave birth to my son who would only as a HS senior be diagnosed with Asperger’s. All those years, we were virtually completely on our own to seek any possible resource for social skills training, appropriate therapies, etc. I experienced, and continue to experience to this day, Chronic Depression and Anxiety about my failures at keeping my aggressive and abrasive young son out of trouble, and later, averting my daughter’s very severe suicidal efforts. If only, if only, if only!!! My kids are now 33 and 31, and relatively successful at “adulting”, and only now, after coming to love the Mauss family through their vlog, do I feel like it’s time that I stop blaming myself for failures as a mom, that I did the best with what I knew *at the time.* Thanks for allowing me to share this with all of you. (Now, where are the extra boxes of tissues??!) S
