(Choir / Stephen Hill) Mountain homecoming
Chorus:
Why don't you lead me to the rock
That is higher than I
Oh lead me to the rock
Yes lead me to the rock
Why don't you lead me to the rock
That is higher than I
Thou has been a shelter for me
Repeat Chorus:
Well if you go down in yonder fold
And search among his sheep

You'll find him there with so I am told
With those he loves to keep

He will be a welcome addition to that heavenly choir. God has and continues to bless him.
would love to hear this sung by stephen hill all the times. Great voice. GOD Bless him
You can see God shining through his people praising Him in this performance. By the way, nice bass guitar sounds throughout!!!!!
Rest In Paradise Thou Good And Faithful Servant, Welcome To Heaven

We will miss u.....BUT NOW U ARE HOME!!!!!!
R.I.P.great singer:(
RIP Stephen Hill :(
RIP Stephen.
Great song-----Grear singer!
I agree, kathymaja. unlike todays vocalist who draw attention to themselves concentrating on technique and delivery, true artists focus on the message and sing from their heart.
I just included the words in the "about this video" section, click on "more"
Thanks!
I'll do that! We did the other Rock (I Go To The Rock) song a few years ago but I wasn't pleased with the recording. The pro's do it best but our congregation just loves anything we do in Southern gospel so it makes it worth while.
Incidentally, there is a more current recording by Stephen on Gaither's DVD "A Campfire Homecoming".
Beautiful arrangement of one of my favorite songs. Stephen Hill, you are the man for the job! Also great bass singers. I love George Younce but it was kinda nice to hear Big John and Rex more loudly than him. George has depth and impeccable flexibility while Rex and Big John have a fuller richer tone.
This is very good! Christian entertainment is almost as good as secular.
Hi, bahamain9
This is from "Mountain homecoming with Bill and Gloria Gaither" released in 1999 I especially enjoy watching the reaction of Larry Gatlin, Guy Penrod and Mark Lowry (2:27) Mr. Hill's vocals remind me of Vince Gill on this one; btw. I added a few links in the description section.
good job
I love Stephen Hill. There is nothing show-offy about him. You can tell he loves to sing for the Lord.
Does anyone know where I can find the words to this song.
Thank you, militarychief
I believe you are correct.
Roy "Pop" Lewis is Sheri Easters Grandfather.
Your welcome, HCFan39
If I find anymore info/ video with Big John I'll be sure to post it.
Btw: I like all your favorites. :)
@mogarcia1861 She's the daughter of Joel and LaBreska Hemphill, related to the Goodmans. Powerful singing genes!

Just love this song and would like my choir to sing it.
Any idea where I could find the sheet music or who the composer is?
SATB or TTBB would be really great! Bought Gaither Homecoming Songbook III but it had a different Lead Me To The Rock!
Thanks!
