    Looks like a really fun track...I'm a Florida guy but am planning a road trip out west next year and may make it one of my stops...

      steve Fowler Go to Bandon Dunes. 4 courses 3 of which are in world top 100

      I live about 3 hours away. Old Mac is really cool. Pacific Dunes and Bandon Dunes are also raved about. Don't play Bandon Trails at all...it's terrible. And while you're at it I highly recommend playing Bandon Crossings. It's away from the resort but considered nicer by many than the resort courses. Feel free to ask me anything around the area. I'm from Oregon.

    Kinda reminds me of Southern Dunes here in Orlando (Haines City)...it's built on sand hills too...check it out if you are ever in O Town and want to chase the little white ball on one of our best tracks.

    BEST OPEN IN YEARS

      James Mattmann You are aware sarcasm is tough to judge via text right? Cause you can’t be sincere with that comment. Chambers Bay Might have been the worst US Open layout in 40yrs and only second to the “Massacre at Winged Foot” in 1974. This isn’t just my opinion either, it’s popular belief

    • @joes4389
      @joes4389 6 років тому

      It’s a popular belief based on ignorance and a resistance to change, not proper judgement. I’ve played it and it was a fantastic venue.

      @jordankoch324 6 років тому

      M.L. Flagg best open course since pebble hosted. Bethpage was also great venue. Course gets a lot of flak but that was the UGSA’s poor course management in the months leading up to it.

    • @MLFlagg
      @MLFlagg 6 років тому

      Jordan Koch so it wasn’t the “best open in years” if the USGA lost the course in the months leading up to it.

  • @drawbias
    @drawbias 9 років тому

    Why do some think the PGA was involved? This is the USGA's baby and although they do work with the PGA to better the game, when it comes to USGA events the PGA stays miles away... Course was goofy but I found it entertaining to watch. Wait two weeks and the players will forget how crazy is was....

  • @jaynigz
    @jaynigz 9 років тому +1

    unless the rough is 4inches deep I doubt the pros will have any troubles in this course.

    • @drawbias

      jaynigz So 10 under to win?

    • @theilluminedone7896

      jaynigz You have no idea if the wind is consistent then -1 wins. If the wind is inconsistent +3 wins.

      jaynigz scoring average of the US Am there was over 79. So yeah the pros will have trouble hahah

    Your gonna pay a lot of money to shoot your worst round ever and be tired as heck afterwards. I rank it as the 4th-5th best links course in this state. I'd tell the list but that's my secret and you guys can play almost a 100 courses in washington and find them yourselves haha. Chambers bay DROP YOUR RATES! and change that course.

    if the wind blows and it's even remotely firm, this could be brutal.

  • @tonyk501

    Good grief...this has to be one of the most meanest, nastiest, toughest looking courses I have ever seen. Especially after checking out some of the 2015 US Open highlights and seeing many PGA golfers getting decapitated by this insane course.

    • @jimbeam1961
      @jimbeam1961 8 років тому +4

    I cant believe that the PGA had much to do with this garbage. This course is a complete joke. I keep waiting to see the windmill hole, that would be this courses only saving grace. Next year are they going to play it at a par three course or just take it to the local PUTT PUTT course. What a total embarrassment this is.

    • @thetexanfan
      @thetexanfan 9 років тому

      Wesley Bomar 80% luck, 20% skill. So many good shots taken away by bad landscaping and terrain. I bet the leaders of today will be struggling to make par again. I can't say this is "fun" when you watch your ball roll 90 degrees into a bunker 50yrds away. It's hard on the eyes and lacks any pleasant sceneries. That building burning was the only thing worth watching, a close second was the trains going by and seeing graffiti on them.

      You are so ignorant it is ridiculous. That is my opinion about the golf course. Sorry but not everyone is going to believe the same as you. Must be tough going through life thinking you are the smartest person and the only one has a correct opinion. Life must be tough for narcissistic wackos like you

    • @mpreiss7780
      @mpreiss7780 8 років тому +2

      yes and your opinion is ridiculous. if you have criticism that makes a little sense then ok but "putt putt course? and wind mill? garbage course?" have you even played it? I don't think im the smartest person but I know something about golf.

      How do you feel about the old course at St Andrew's? Should be dropped for something more your style too?

  • @benmarshall5132

    People need to stop bitching about this course. It actually causes players to THINK about their shots and not just hack and slash like a typical east coast/midwest US Open course.

    "They gave us advice on what to design outside of the ropes, which we subsequently ignored to build one of the least spectator-friendly courses in golf history. Also, we have no idea how to maintain greens."
