      Steve it is a great tool, and the next video will show you what it looks like in real use putting all the instructionals together in a practical application using presets, measurements, and zooming to prove a fault . for the price I recommend the master kit unbeatable value and price

    Hi Justin, Thanks for showing me that Hold, zoom, position feature. I have noticed that sometimes it doesn't work. The position won't move around even if the POS is flashing. I'm wondering if there is a buffer limit. Maybe I'm collecting too much data on one screen and then I zoom in too far. I notice if I put less time on the screen that sometimes that allows me to scroll through the patterns on the screen. Does the U-scope have limits on this feature?

    Thanks much Justin I must of missed it just remember you saying you were hooked up to a signal generator and didn't catch the headphone jack portion. Will watch it again. Thanks for the quick reply and will be in touch 👍👍

      Arthur Fricchione I am not using the built in signal generator in the videos I am using s vehicle simulator that I acquired from snap on.

    Hi Justin Can the scrolling be done with the engine off or how does the running engine affect the waveform after going into the zoom mode? Thank you

    • @AESwave
      @AESwave  2 роки тому +1

      To enter the position feature, the scope needs to be put in Hold mode using the A button. While in Hold mode, the scope is no longer accepting input so the car can be off or the lead disconnected with no affect.

    Hi Justin Is it normal for the cursors and the trigger window to be on the screen when turning on the scope, I can't seem to get them to stay off and I don't remember noticing if it was always so? Thank you Justin the videos are helpful

    I'm still patiently waiting for Justin's 4th video that he stated he would do a live case study with the Uscope at 17:05 in this video.

    Great Job Well Done !!!

    Wow,I know this is from while back but it seems that you have to be well versed in the use of Oscilloscope's to be able to find an issue with What ever you might be looking for, You'd almost have to have a career in Electronics to be able to combine Mechanic's and Electronic's to troubleshoot an issue. I know that the scope is very useful tool but to have all the knowledge to set it up and also know the values of what your looking at could be very confusing at least to me, I'm sure that you could know couple things and get the job done by the R and R book but SOFTWARE PROGRAM that could help narrow down some of the technics to keep the time factor from being out of reach . But I like that you can implement this tool to speed up the job once you have all the settings correct!

    Justin first great video. Thank you. Is there a way to generate a signal on the scope to play around with? What are you using to generate the signal? I also have a DSO 3 4 channel scope with a signal generator where I can place a waveform on the screen and play with it on that scope. Just wondering if we could generate a waveform like you have to experiment with or how we could generate a signal without using the vehicle. Just wondering what you are using. Thanks so much. Artie 👍

      there is a built in signal generator on the scope, the headphone jack is the output, and your unit should have come with a little set of micro hooks on headphone cable, just jump that into the scope lead and you can play with a live waveform. I covered it in the first video I believe. settings are in menu>options> siggen duty and freq control. its a simple 5v square wave which is great for practicing with the Uscope

      Can that signal be used to trigger a ignition coil to fire on a 3 or 4 wire coil?

  • @lovetolearn5253
    @lovetolearn5253 3 роки тому

    Does this scope produce signals. I seen in a southmain auto video he produced a wheelspeed signal to the pcm to check the wiring (A signal simulator).

    Justin in my advanced kit I have received nothing with a headphone jack that would plug into that port. Is my kit missing something I should of received. Should I contact AESwave Thanks

    • @AESwave
      @AESwave  6 років тому +1

      Arthur, the signal generator cable should have been in the white box underneath the scope, along with the USB cable. It has an 1/8" jack on one end and a white and black graber test clip on the other side. IF you did not receive the test lead send us an email and we will get a set to you.

    is there an eta for the firmware update on windows 10?

    • @AESwave
      @AESwave  6 років тому +1

      Steven, if you are referring to updating older uScopes on windows 10, no sorry no ETA yet. Newer scopes can be updated with windows 10 as shown in the update instructions. If you do not have access to a Windows 7 PC you can ship it back to us and we will update it for you.

    Is there a way to capture the cam signal and then crank signal then compare them to verify timing?

    • @bav-lab3584
      @bav-lab3584 5 років тому

      mhinz00 using a cam/crank sync technique for checking mechanical timing will require a multi channel scope.

    • @mhinz00
      @mhinz00 5 років тому

      Justin Morgan i assumed that was the case just was curious if maybe there was a way to overlay the cam signal over the crank signal after capturing them both

    • @bav-lab3584
      @bav-lab3584 5 років тому

      mhinz00 unfortunately it would be almost impossible to sync them in real-time post capture.
