I tried the cc cream and it looked so horrible not to mention it looked so yellow i looked like a Simpson 😂 The camo matte concealer is awful but I do like the hydrating one. It’s not the best thing ever but for the price it’s good.
Same! I got the concealer based on said recommendations, and it looked nice upon first application, but after a few hours and with every day wear, it was awful! It managed to break me out and make my skin dry and flaky at the same time 😬
The "dirty talk" shade in that lipstick is my personal fav! Now we need to see you do a comparison of the Supergoop unseen sunscreen and the new elf invisible sunscreen! And try the elf sunscreen spray throughout the day over your makeup and let us know how that works out!! ❤❤❤
My favourite too, I was coming here to the comments because I couldn’t believe she was talking about not having a great every day shade from this line when Dirty Talk exists, it’s perfect!
Yes totally keep a makeup bag at work with blotting papers, powder foundation, a cream blush and a few lip options. Oh and a hair brush and toothbrush! 🤣 never can be too prepared!
The elf flawless foundation is so good. I’ve been through a whole bottle in like 4 months which is crazy (Note: the bottle is a lot smaller than a traditional foundations). My favorite way to use it is mixed with Asian style sunscreens to make a tinted sunscreen.
For the O face lipsticks, try Dirty Talk. Too light for my medium yellow-olive skin but would be a lovely everyday lip for you! (No Doubt fits me better)
I wear almost all ELF every day so of course I clicked this video immediately! I totally agreed with you on almost everything! The halo glow liquid filter is my holy grail! It is perfection! Superb video Jessica!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you for doing this! I am a teacher and do my makeup at like 5 am and really need things to last and need little maintenance because who has time to do a ton of touch ups. I don’t keep a little makeup bag but I think I shall start doing that. I have all sorts of other essentials in my classroom like deodorant and such so a small makeup bag should just be just be a natural addition. I appreciate you!!! 💛
Thanks so much for doing this series! I love your content and I wanted to say I love the Elf lipstick in the shade " Dirty Talk" I think it's meant to be a dupe for pillow talk and I love that shade of pink Xoxo
I really like the finish and coverage of the Elf Flawless Satin foundation, but the scent gives me a headache so I can't use it. And I'm not particularly or overly sensitive to scents in products. There is just something in the fragrance that triggers a headache for me. I really enjoy the Hydrating Camo Concealer (I don't have the same issues that you described to be honest), but the CC Cream is horrible (I did experience the same issues as you). The Primer-Infused powders are excellent. The Elf Lash N Roll mascara is the best mascara Elf has ever made. The Halo Glow Liquid Filter is also so good and I agree that it does have some coverage! I really like the new undereye corrector/brightener. I do have the fair shade which is more pink and it definitely brightens! Now I don't have a ton of discoloration under my eyes so I can't speak to how well it truly correct darkness. Elf doesn't really have a brow product that is the right color for me tbh (anything light enough is too warm on me), but thankfully Wet N Wild does (ash brown) and it's super affordable as well. The Putty Bronzers blend away to nothing on my skin and the putty blushes are patchy af.
The Woah Glow sunscreen did for sure cause pimples. I stopped using it for awhile and they stopped, thought I’d try again and it broke me out again. I do not have sensitive skin and hardly ever get breakouts.
If I have a make up bag at work I rarely use it. But I do keep mascara and an eye brow pencil in my car. The brow pencil gets used regularly for touch ups. The mascara is priceless when I somehow forget to put it on 😂
Jessica, I enjoy your videos over so many others! You appeal to such a variety of age groups who love makeup and fashion. Love your adorable sense of humor and I relate as a retired teacher but now realtor- and yes, I keep a makeup bag EVERYWHERE even in my car! You are more beautiful with each video!
I am a teacher, and I do keep a total face of makeup! I just started my 33rd year, and I almost always do my makeup at school because my skincare products need to soak in on my drive in.
You look stunning today, Jess!! Everything is just absolutely working for you, including the blue headband! I had never considered using Elf anything until I started watching UA-cam videos a little over a year ago, around the end of your pregnancy, and I am shocked by how many of their products I actually like, some I even love!! The Holy Hydration moisturizer is my summertime go to. I had always worn high end makeup and was coming off of a several year love affair with It Cosmetics and, dang, but can the drugstore compete! And Elf is right up there! I really enjoy your full face of videos. Actually I enjoy ALL of your videos! I am 62 and you are by far my favorite UA-camr!! Your puff pastry pizza is on my to do list. Thanks for all!!
Thanks Jess! This was super helpful. You didn’t talk about the halo glow powder, but it is one of my ride or die products in the summer…the perfect amount of glow, but does everything a powder is supposed to.
I’m a Disney cast member and I DEFINITELY carry makeup with me to work. Whether I need to touch up because I’m constantly in go mode in this ridiculous Florida weather, or it’s just one of those days where I do some makeup and leave myself the option to add more later depending on how the day goes, I almost never go without at least a lip gloss and some eye pencils😂
The color combo of your hair color, together with the black top and blue headband is soooo beautiful, the thumbnail really caught my eye, you look amazing! ❤
My favorite 2 "everyday" lipsticks come from Maybelline - they are in the line that's supposed to look good on everyone. They are "Pink for Me" and "Mauve for Me". Both very pretty colors.
Jess, Thanks for another super helpful product vid! I actually look for your opinion on products before I buy them, you are always honest and informative! I love Elf and Essence along with other “ drugstore “ product lines, there is really no need to spend A fortune anymore for great quality! ❤
My favorite blushes by e.l.f are the bite size face duos (I have white peach & lychee) & I was honestly surprised that those weren't in this video. Those little blushes pack a punch in the most beautiful way (so tap off the brush before applying...... Learn from my mistake 😂)
I love their blush, I have the more peachy shade and it's been my favorite for a while. It beats out all the others and has survived a few makeup cleanouts. It's a little sheer but buildable which is only a plus for me. I do have their bronzer too but I'm not in the habit of using it.
You look fresh and that headband .. nice . I’ve enjoyed the price and quality of elf for a time now. Thanks for all the work you do to get updates to us for products and your suggestions for other things.
I love the elf ultimate blending brush for many things but I love it the most for applying self tanner or blending my self tanner on my hands and feet.
Fun question for a video idea, when your daughters start wearing makeup what would you buy them for a starter kit and what techniques would you teach them
This is a throwback because this is how I found jambeauty to begin with many many years ago when I used to be younger and go clubbing and wanted make up advice hahahaha elf video brought me here and now we are here lmao
This video was a rollercoaster, I truly, audibly said “Jessica!!” When you said you didn’t like the camo concealer 😂 but strong agree on the camo cc, I was super disappointed
Jess, I so agree with you about the cc cream. I have never had a product that would just sit on top of my skin, never sink in and looking so crusty only an hour after putting it on.
Could you do a tutorial on the sequence of face makeup? SPF, primer, highlighter, foundation, concealer?? This may sound foundational, but I think the sequence is important. I love your postings/tutorials. I get a “clinical pearl” from every one of them.
I have really enjoyed your reviews. I really love the Catrice products. I agree with you that ELF products have evolved and there are now some great products in their line. Some of the earlier ones, not so much. They have learned and evolved and that is great for all of us!
I tried the CC Camo Cream this summer and loved it! I find that it stays all day, but I have to blend it really well so it doesn't look cakey. I appreciate the coverage and the finish. It was heavier than the average tinted moisturizer or CC cream, but I like it very much.
I've been binging your videos and I just love the vibe you give off ❤ Something about choosing the products that works for you and your daily life just makes me feel good. Kind of breaking away from what we see on social media and trying to curate your own routine/system. I'm so bad at getting rid of stuff I know I won't use so seeing you do it is very refreshing 🤣
I couldn’t disagree more about the elf eyeshadow primer! It works amazing and keeps eyeshadow on my oily hooded lids all day without creasing. Even glitter stays on until I scrub it off at the end of the night. But yea the concealers really suck.
I have a small makeup bag at my office and it’s almost all elf! I have the a bite size eyeshadow and a blush highlighter palettes, mascara, elf pressed powder, and I keep a Sephora sample sized foundation and primer. I use it most in the summer for touchups on those crazy hot days.
I just started a full time office job and we do work out classes at lunch and so I’ve started my at work makeup bag! Right now it’s just eyebrow gel and spoolies bc at the very least I do that daily. I want to add some other basics though! So you’re definitely not alone haha
I have had those blending brushes for years. Literally. And the eye brow pencil is GOAT for me, although I don't do much with my brows but I think that's why I like it it's just so easy with no fuss. And the bronzer in tan lines is amazing. Ive used one up in the past before it's just perfect and I miss it. Along those same lines the blush in Bali is one of my all time favorites. Elf is just amazing! 🎉
Years ago at Christmas elf dropped a eye shadow set called 'The little black book' I NEED that limited edition back. It was my all time favorite. Its beeen about 8 years and it's still on my mind.
I agree about the blushes and bronzers. The pot is way too small that I avoided using them (even with the putty blush brush from them -- it's also too small!). Decluttered them and def don't recommend to anyone. It sucks bc the actual product isn't bad at all!
I agree the Elf foundation is a great foundation. The Flawless concealer is also a great product. I am glad you reviewed it. I tried it years ago and recently bought it again (actually 2). I also really like the Halo contour product. It is not too dramatic and blends easily.
I agree! I too hate the camo concealers. Everyone raved about them. I tried the original and then the hydrating and still they look so dry! I don't love the powder foundation for the same reason. I continue to try them but i think I've just come to the conclusion i don't like powder foundations at all. I did not feel like the O lipstick were hydrating. They felt super dry to me so that got thrown in a drawer. Again, so many better lipsticks out there.
I follow you from the time you were teaching and you talked about your make up bag so I fixed one , now I only keep toothpaste, toothbrush and oil absorb tissues . Back to work next Thursday , I’m gonna fix a new one 🎉
I love the sunscreen. It is super glowing but it looks nice under powder. The eyebrow pencil and wowbrow are fantastic. I also like the camo hydro concealer. The glossy lipstain.
I had the same thoughts on the camo CC cream. Blah And because of you, I bought the Catrice tru skin concealer and OMG! Why did I wait so long to purchase! Thank you 😊

Years ago at Christmas elf dropped a eye shadow set called 'The little black book'
I NEED that limited edition back.
I love their crease brush! And, I have a ton of brushes and appreciate this one the most. ❤
I keep a small makeup bag at work. Powder, lipstick, balm, handcream toothbrush, perfume and deodorant.
I agree the Elf foundation is a great foundation. The Flawless concealer is also a great product. I am glad you reviewed it. I tried it years ago and recently bought it again (actually 2). I also really like the Halo contour product. It is not too dramatic and blends easily.
Such a good video. ELF are killing it right now & have some really great products. I'm loving the new primer & the brow lift & tool are sooooo good.
I hate the hydrating concealer I legit threw it in the bin 😅
I follow you from the time you were teaching and you talked about your make up bag so I fixed one , now I only keep toothpaste, toothbrush and oil absorb tissues . Back to work next Thursday , I’m gonna fix a new one 🎉
I love the sunscreen. It is super glowing but it looks nice under powder. The eyebrow pencil and wowbrow are fantastic. I also like the camo hydro concealer. The glossy lipstain.
What shade in the elf foundation do you wear? You are my skin twin 😊
I TOTALLY agree on the Elf concealer!! Omg everyone raves about it but I hated it because it looked cakey and made my fine lines show more 😅
Really enjoyed that! Emma x
I had the same thoughts on the camo CC cream. Blah
And because of you, I bought the Catrice tru skin concealer and OMG! Why did I wait so long to purchase! Thank you 😊
I’m on my second elf eye quad shadow in rose water. It is AMAZING!!!
