I had the same issue with mine, I've done lots of diy so if had to fix lots of boost leaks but if ur not planning on ever removing it unless it brakes or something. I used high heat resistant silicone (and yes you can remove it, its just going to be a pain in the ass and a lot of patience and time) to basically shut it from leaking boost and from blowing off of my intercooler, I'm currently peaking 22 and pushing 20-21 psi on stock turbo so its lots of pressure and its handling like a champ! but honestly I feel you the amount of boost leaks I had to fix due to pipes being blown off was insane, it almost made me want to put in metal pipes and weld everything in place LOL
also I have a twin cooler setup idk if u heard of it but it basically uses the oem plus the upgraded intercooler and I don't exactly have the setup like urs but i do have a coupler adapter tihng and like i said i just have silicone on it and a t-bolt clamp holding it in and its doing wonders
