I love how the algorithm got this right and your videos found their way to my home page recommendations. It's incredible how it links like-minded people. Dear Lucinda, thank you for the stunning and valuable videos you are putting out there. Your love for running, nature and taking things slow is what keeps me coming back, thank you so much for sharing your journey with us! (also i love how i can understand the Dutch, i speak Afrikaans and the one word that stood out for me in one of your previous videos was on your wall "sterk" you are a very STRONG woman! So inspiring! Much love from🇿🇦❤❤
Yay for the algorithm! Thank you so much for watching and the kind words Shelly. I sometimes forget that not everything I write down (or on the walls 😂) is in English. My brain mushes the languages I know together at times. But so cool that you can read the Dutch words!
Trauma response lol. Honestly I have to check myself. I totally hear you when you are saying guard rails every where … anything to protect One from burnout. I have been so anti setting mapped out goals and time line targets etc because I’m an irresponsible toddler that doesn’t seem to like the word no or enough lol. but I am in a place with my photography that work is slowly but surely creeping in and I actually now have a back load of editing to do… and the desire to set up a small meaningful photography business which will mean having to spend time advertising it truly getting on social media again and forward thinking and setting some goals and perimeters… the horror of it. Then I also think about the backlog of videos I’ve been shooting for my own UA-cam channel and then my personal health and fitness goals. And then I need to lie down LOL. i’m going to read the slow productivity book. I thought this video was excellent and I really love your approach. I would say my very first goal is to build up some grit to actually sitting down to seeing through projects without procrastination and building up my ability to concentrate once more on the tasks at hand x
Yay for the photography business picking up, so good to hear! Maybe getting it out there in a structured way can also be fun somehow and not just horrifying 😂 I am in the same boat as you with respect to procrastination. Starting today I'm stopping watching UA-cam. I tell myself I watch UA-cam for research and inspiration, but after the 5th video in a row of which I learned nothing, that totally defeats the purpose. I love your thoughtful comments, thank you!
Thank you! I often go on UA-cam strikes for months at a time because I do find it very addictive. I do mostly watch things that help me with photography and videography, but then I do find binge channels like yourself. lol ❤
I couldn’t make it through slow productivity but I did really enjoy Ali Abdall’s Feel Good Productivity Book. I need to do this more often to not get burnt out. It’s hard working two jobs and UA-cam and raising two kids.
I can only imagine how much you have to do in a day. You are super mom and amazing for all you do, don't ever forget that! I need to read Feel Good Productivity, seems like a lot of people like that one.
Its hard for me to plan what I want to do tomorrow honestly but I am thankful for each second I am in. Wow people plan out entire years? I had no idea actually. I learn something new from you each time. I love those animals you have walking around outside. Good on you Lucinda as always great advice, now go learn Japanese you busy girl.
Oh yeah, I used to be a meticulous yearly planner, including spreadsheets to see if I was keeping up with what I wanted to accomplish. It was pretty intense, and I did get A LOT done. It's just time for a different season now. On to learning Japanese I go, thank you for your continued support Michael!
I absolutely love your videos, they’re so inspiring. I’m trying to combine the productivity principles of The 12 Week Year with the philosophical principles 4,000 Weeks so this video is exactly what I needed!
Thank you so much! For me, I only stuck to it the third try. The first two times I tried it I call false starts 😉 But the last 12 weeks really worked out so I'm doing it again. I was less busy and achieved more, no lie.
Thanks for the great content; I have the 12-week year, but I will check out the one on slow productivity, as it sounds interesting. I’m a recovering adult with C-PSTD, and running helps me regulate my nervous system and supports my health in general. I also used to overdo and work all hours and got burned out more than once. After learning the hard way (lol), I realised that, like you, I must include my health no matter what goals I set for myself.
I love how running is truly good for our health and not just a trendy thing to do. Even though it seems to be trend to run nowadays. Thank you for sharing your story Joane. Oh and also a note on Slow Productivity, I found it to be a bit of a dry read but the principles outlined in the book are great
@@LucindaLives I know that suddenly, everyone is talking about running. it's trendy! Lol Thanks for the heads-up about the book. I'll probably get it on Audible.
Thank you for the informative video. I have a similar approach to life. Planning is the key to moving forward. Two books I have found useful are “The Richest Man in Babylon” and “The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel”. P.S. The book names are misleading they are really about a personal tune-up. Again, thank you and best wishes.
I’m learning some things from you. Thank you for sharing this I really enjoyed this video wish it was longer. I will try to some of what you said. Just like you get vacation time from jobs we as entrepreneurs should ourselves 2 weeks of doing nothing productive too. What if you get bored during those weeks though?
I'm a bit on the fence of making the videos longer. I definitely have more to say but when I see that only 20% of people make it to the end i get hesitant to make them longer. I appreciate the feedback tho. As far as if I ever get bored: I never do, I have a massive reading list to get through, I always have my island on animalcrossing on the switch, there's the breach, the park, running. skating, biking, drawing, painting, writing. The main question is not what if I get bored, the main issue is to actually rest!
@@LucindaLives yes I understand being on the fence about that because people attention span is short. My attention span is short too except when it comes to stuff I feel passionate about or I’m trying to learn about. Good point about not getting bored. I guess there’s different types of rest.
"we got this" really made me feel better about my own projects. Thank you for sharing !
so glad to hear that I helped you feel a bit better!
The 12 Week Year changed my life ❤

Inspiring Video. I like setting up the guardrails. That is very important. Thank you for taking the time to create.

I love the book 4000 weeks! So good, reminds us that we only have 1 life to live. Thanks for sharing!
I love how you combining both books and made such an insightful videos 💜 Your editing is so nice as well. Thanks for the video
Thank you for watching and for the kind comment. I love how you applied the 12 week year to work and a side hustle. So good!
@@LucindaLives Thank you so much! ☺

Great take on productivity 😁
Thank you! If you don't rest enough, you can't be creative. I really believe that

Yeah I've seen the title "the psychology of money" in a few UA-cam video titles. i will have to check both out. Thanks for the tip!
Sounds likle a plan great strategies seems like you know what you need to do
Yup, Excited to tackle the next 12 weeks.

Very interesting. Thanks for sharing this information. Question I have ....is that painting dry yet? 🙂
YES!!!! It's finally dry. Follow up vid in the making hahaha 😂😂
