So I followed your example and just ordered a pair of 50W work lights from the same company. I was originally hoping to use 118 mm led "bayonet" style halogen bulb replacements, but those halogen housings and sockets weren't made for LEDs which need to keep cool to last any amount of time. Also, cob style bulbs are a poor design in themselves.
Yeah, I'd be interested to see how well those work. I was thinking the wide array layout on the replacement lights would give a broader light than the narrow halogen to led bulbs. I will say that the new lights are still working beautifully and I really like how much smaller and lighter they are.

you could have changed you halogen with led bulbs for $10.00

Thats if you can find a decent brand. So far all the ones I have tried burn out within 6 months.
