I’ve been a longtime fan of Toph’s music. All of it. That said, this record’s release completely slipped by me. I only found out about it some two weeks ago and hadn’t made time to give it a fair listen. Had a holiday this week and my family left before me. I played this record on a ferry, on my way to join them. It was a small boat, not very crowded. But a family with a few todlers and dogs was traveling with me. Sunny day, calm seas, smiles all around… it was a sweet moment and I just took a deep breath and plunged into this record from start to end and replayed it when it was done a few times. Great work… Definitely his best one so far. When more comes our way, we’ll be here! I hope I get to see him perform one day. This interview felt like overhearing a conversation between friends on the next table over. Awesome. 👏🏼
