A State Department panel urged the Biden administration in December to disqualify multiple Israeli military and police units from receiving U.S. aid over serious human rights abuses, including rape and torture. According to ProPublica, Secretary of State Blinken received the recommendation in December but has still not taken any action. Israeli leaders including Prime Minister Netanyahu and his chief rival who is widely expected to succeed him in office, Benny Gantz, have been "publicly and fiercely lobbying against any proposed sanctions," says ProPublica reporter Brett Murphy. "Gantz said he called Blinken personally and they talked about it. They want him to reverse course."

In this case, it is clearly illegal under US law to be giving arms to Israel, especially in light of the ICJ rulings, and the fact that Israel has been stealing land/homes, killing Palestinians and protestors (of all stripes) and committing systemic rapes for 75 years, ever since the Nakba.
I am not surprised nor shocked by the US Secretary of State Blinkin 's inaction in this situation. Shameful.

It is against United States law to give military aid to apartheid countries. It is also against US law to give military aid to unsanctioned nuclear armed countries. The US has been violating its own laws for years by funding the IDF. Ignoring IDF human rights abuses is just another example.
I've never been more heartbroken, angry, or ashamed of my government. The US is supposed to be better than this. How can we claim to be the best country in the world when condoning such atrocities?!?!

The United States should end military aid to Israel.
1. Military Aid to Israel is unnecessary. Israel is a very prosperous country and more than capable of paying for its own military.
2.Military aid to Israel is a security risk to the United States. Israel has been selling American developed military technology to China for more than a decade. These sales have been instrumental in the modernization of China's military.
3.Military aid to Israel is a diplomatic liability,
4, Military aid to Israel is illegal under American law. Israel's human rights violations disqualifies Israel from receiving military aid under the Leahy law and Israel's refusal to allow inspections of its nuclear sites or sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty makes any aid to Israel illegal under the Symington Amendment.
This shows the government blatant disregard, and disdain ordinary suffering Americans. Time for the population to rise up!

Absolutely. The IDF (ITF) have been committing genocide not just one unit. I think some of that units atrocities were also committed in the Occupied Territories and were so bad their own government censured them and put them in another area then sent them to Gaza.

Not only does israel get to provide this foreign aid to any unit it pleases, but israel is the ONLY country that recieves military aid from the US that is allowed to spend a quarter of that aid on its domestic defense industry. No other nation is allowed to do this and israel is the sole exception.

Question for Democracy Now!: Where in the constitution or founding documents that it states that this country is a Democracy? I can read: REPUBLIC.
