When Lou and I think of what we are grateful for this year, this community is top of the list! Taking the time to celebrate Thanksgiving aboard Penelope was such a fun challenge and made us appreciate our tiny kitchen even more. I feel like we need to have more feasts like this in the future!! What are you grateful for this holiday season?! Sending all our love, Dana
Grateful to live on a boat and feel sheltered from the world's events 😀So grateful to discover your channel this year, honestly! You guys are so much joy ❤️
Dana seeing you so full of gratitude is beautiful. You two compliment each other so well. I am older then both of you. Am I am just now (about a year away) from embarking on my dream. I’m selling my home and going to live full time in the road with my 110 pound 🐶 dog! To be as young as yall are and already living your dream is a wonderful thing. Sooo so so many people go their whole lives never doing so. I’m happy for yall. Genuinely happy for yall!! Happy sails! Bless you both and Penelope! ⛵️
Thank you so much for this sweet comment, Kami! And how cool that you are planning to embark on your dream--we wish you so much happiness and contentment, for you and your dog ❤️ happy adventuring!!
@@WildWeRoam and it really works. Couple of blankets or bed quilt and your pot of potatos or some other stuff can be warm for an hour or more. Just remember to cook it slightly less than usual :)
Blind backing a pie crust: fill it with dried beans to keep it from puffing up. Or just poke it repeatedly until it deflates. It's all good in the end :)
It's nice to see a more personal, less technical video (even though those are interesting !), will you make more? Like what about your routine on the boat etc..thanks 😚
Thanks Alice, that is great to know! We are so in deep with learning the technical side of things ourselves so that is why we have been focused on that this year, but it's nice to know you and others enjoy these kinds of videos! Will definitely keep that in mind :) Especially once we are further along with the boat and ready to properly set sail and travel, we will have more of that content. Thank you for watching ❤️
I just want you to know that every time you played audio of your yanmar alt warning horn/buzzer that my cat Sophie got excited that we were going sailing... We both live aboard our S2 9.2c down here in SWFL and she always climbs up to be with me when we are moving. She's very confused right now lol.
of course just like about everyone who watches you, I've been watching you guys grow ever since you were living in NYC, I love your hard work and dedication. I would love to see a video where you guys talk about your relationship and the pros/cons of living around each other 24/7. Thank you so much!!
You guys did such a good job with your Thanksgiving meal in a tiny kitchen! I'm watching this at 11pm and it made me SOOO hungry. Loved the presentation - the bedsheet was a nice touch!😄✨
Hello Dana and Lou, Love your warts and all videos, like the blocked sink. Followed you all over Europe in Ody and enjoyed refitting and sailing with you both in Penelope. Thanks for sharing your adventures. Bye from Tuggeranong, Australia.
It looks great! Very inspiring. If you are loking for a safe sustainable way of cooking, there is also the Ecostoof. In the Ecostoof the food prepares it self. Place your ingredients in the pan, bring to the boil and transfer the pan into the Ecostoof. The Ecostoof is suitable for any type of pan. The insulation ensures that the food stays heated and cooks automatically, without consuming energy and without burning.

Thanks so much for the kind words ❤️ I love the "invisible crew"!! And there's a nice idea with the boat cookbook, will definitely think that over! Thanks ❤️
What a great video. Fascinated to see you both work in that space. Yes it is sooo much better than the van. Thanks for sharing. Great to see you relaxing more into sailing. Let's all hope for better things for 2021, can't wait. From North West England.
When baking the bottom part of the pastry, you always need to put something heavy on it like dry beans or chickpeas with paper (the one made for the kitchen. I'm not English, idk the name of it) between the crust and the beans. Besides that, everything looks amazing! 😁
Yep, alwys important to blind-bake the crust :D I was always curious to see what would happen if I don't. So I feel like this video was very educational for me!
I watched this again and started thinking about you cooking and not have enough space to have everything hot. A griddle would keep a couple pans warm and you could pick one up second hand, you have the space!
You are such an inspiration. Love the courage and freedom of spirit I, but above al the kindness of heart and the peace you cultivated in between the two of you. 🌈
For keeping all the food warm you can put it in a sleepingbag or something else that you can as a haybox... Maybe something for another time...and so you can use more pits for a meal... Your Thanksgivibg meal looks great!
That meal was incredible. Bravo Zulu! Seems pretty warm and a late sunset for Thanksgiving way up there in the northeast. We have spent a few cold nights and even days last week ourselves as we have travelled from South Carolina through Georgia and now into Northern Florida. The Rasmus sure can be a rocky boat, on anchor or just motoring. We try to always at least motorsail if we can not just sail because motoring without a sail to stabilize the roll is often uncomfortable unless there is a dead calm sea. That's the downside of a shallow draft keel. But it sure comes in handy in the Georgia ICW shallow waters. I hope you guys can stay warm this winter.
When you prebake a pie shell, often you put "pie weights" in it so it doesn't puff up. My pie weights are either rice poured over the crust on foil or beans poured over the shell on foil. Great looking meal. Its inspired me to get on with my Thanksgiving meal (its Tuesday b4 Thanksgiving)
Such a beautiful Vegan Thanksgiving meal. (I'm 13 years vegan so I appreciate your recipes, so much!) And a lovely, lovely video. You will remember this very special Thanksgiving meal for the rest of your lives. Thank you for sharing it with us.
