Picked up a book on electronics at a community garage sale a few years ago for 50¢. When reading it I found ten $100 bills tucked in the pages. Best 50¢ I ever spent.
Years ago, an older couple passed away and the kids came in to clean. The old folks had newspapers stacked in basement floor to ceiling in neat stacks. All the way back before Eisenhower was president. Anyway, they decided to start using a moving dolly to move them out to the trash. They did this for trash day for a couple of weeks. Then as they were putting out another stack for the third week, it fell over, and some cash came out of the papers. They quickly realized what mom and dad had done, hiding money in the papers. They ended up going thru all the remaining stacks one paper at a time and pulled more than 20 thousand out. They wondered how much they threw away in the stacks they put out for trash.
@@ronwilgenbusch1961If that was my parents I would have been so pissed. What kind of idiots hide cash in old newspapers. If the house burns down then your savings are gone 😂 this is unbelievably dumb
@@RejectReality97you would be surprised how people that went through the depression hid their money. They never trusted banks after the depression.
@@stevemoore8599 I'm more surprised that anyone trusts any bank, especially today! They're all crooks ..
@@stevemoore8599 If they had any sense at all they would have bought silver or gold instead of what they did. Instead they hid them in newspapers. Legitimately r etarded
It's pretty impressive that you can remember what the parts are used for. Shows that you have many years of experience and knowledge. Plus the bonus cash, win win. That's why I watch your videos.
I worked at Tecumseh for 15 years and was the repair person on the line loved reworking the old engines. Miss all my co workers you made my day thank you.
I have a 15.5 hp tecumseh ohv engine on my 2005 murray and it is the most reliable engine that iv had so far
@@posttopstreetlight1055 I really thought they were great engines but they had sold out a few times and some of the new bosses wanted quantity instead of quality the last few years that we operated.
Yeah the only modification I made to it was mesing with the timing and lengthening the lobes on the cam shaft
You and Slippers would have had a field day at a friends house. He was a service man for Sears. The lawnmower parts he had were a sight to behold. I was given the opportunity to go through his shop and get anything I wanted.
My kind of neighbor
Hey Taryl and the slip dog you guys got A nice little stash there them carbs and muffins might come in handy😂😂🎉 God Bless you and yours family Añd there's your Dinner 🎉😢🎉😂
this video is as exciting as the installing the toilet video ,but yet I can’t stop watching!!!!
You are the nan Taryl!!
Suck🫵 it up, quit crying😭‼️.
Good bunch of old parts. The only bad thing about it is, now when Slippers brings in all his old junk, you're going to be obliged to work on it. lol.
You Def Struck Gold There Taryl...Worked in a small engine shop in the late 80,s I always thought working on the Tecumseh Engines and even look,n up parts for them was a pia...
I just bought a carburetor for a craftsman tecumseh & drive pulley & woodruff key for dana spicer transaxle on rear engine rider. Stuff isn't cheap.
Is this a repeat? I could have sworn I saw a video just like this a few years ago. Deja vu!
KEEP!!!!’ Not garbage! KEEP!!!!!
Those big aluminum vector carbs would make a good heat sink for electronics projects.
Those old Tecumseh parts are like pieces of gold.
Slippers, always full of surprises.
The information you retain in your brain is unreal Taryl , not to mention all the skills you have . Swear man .... .
Takes a special guy to see the value in that box of goodies.
When I see tecumseh coming my way I lock the door and turn off the lights.
Thats because you are full of ignorance. Tecumsehs are easy as can be to work on. If you can't fix a tecumseh you dont belong near an engine of any sort 😂
It was the WORST wasn't it?
Great video. Yep always good to save all that stuff
this really helping alot of people right now. old stoke is on and old guys most wanted list.
because you are right. things fit other things to.
Thank you for sharing.👍
Taryl’s knowledge about those parts is amazing. Definitely a master of his trade.
🤣🤣🤣 Hey Slippers, could you go get me a bottle of water? Well played Taryl! 🤣 That was a gold mine of useful little parts that will probably come in handy in future videos. 👍 Thanks to whoever sent you that.
Nice haul Tarly.
Send Slippers out on more nighttime scavenger hunts.
I like to call these hunts poor man's flea markets.
If it's free why not!!!!😊
Way to go Slippers ON the finds.
SLIPPERS YOU ROCK rock!!!!😊😊😊😊
Think you sir for your video on rebuilding the tuff torque. Automatic the washer thickness part was crucial for me because they look so similar with out that info I might have made the mistake of placing them back in the wrong position but ever thing else went smoothly I live in Tennessee not to far from tuff torque so I went to the warehouse and picked up my rebuild kit I don't know if you have ever heard of this but I had a long time john deere macanic give me some advice run 15-40 big truck oil in the transmission instead and it will last a lot longer I have been running it for a year with no problem and the oil still looks brand new and it also pulls a lot stronger I do let in warm up before using it because of the thicker oil but it is so much smoother and take off is a lot better thank again 👍🏻
I could use that eager one carb! It's been a good mower Taryl
The high altitude parts possibly came from someone who had a small engine shop in a high elevation location and moved to Indiana and brought their parts with them.
Or they could be for engines on flying machines
Taryl definitely got hooked up with All of these Tecumseh parts 😂
Fire it up! Fire it up! Fire it up! DILLY DILLY
@@Blutnase lol 🤣
@@Blutnase Get out off heeere! 😊
That was Great videos 🎥💯 poor Slippers 💰 funny 😂
In the 60's my grandfather bought a Sears 1000 watt generator, it still starts on the fourth pull at least till they started using ethanol gas. It was powered by a Tecumseh engine. Tecumseh's seem to have a longer stroke. Platinum Equity LLC bought Tecumseh engines then they disappeared. To bad I like Tecumseh engines.
Good morning Taryl and gang.
Wow!! That Tecumseh carb needing o-rings is very similar to the one on my JD726 snowblower.. dang!
Dunno if it's a 7hp carb you have, but not a bad score
Tecumseh wasn't really bad engine . i mean the only problem i can recall . IS part's inventory. an the main two problems we had was the Coils and carbs . they were junk. all a bunch of Tecumseh you could adapt ether briggs parts an some Kohler parts to fit them .
Great video Tyrell . Nice find man .cheers man 😂
I've got a wheelbarrow full of obsolete and newer mower, motorcycle, and auto parts. They do come in handy!
I have three Tecumseh engines still in service. Thus far I don't need parts but I will in the future.
Awesome video God Bless you and your family Amen
i got 3 shelves of stuff like this I gotta get to and get cleared out wish Taryl was closer
Great video.
WoW what a find that was on the parts but even better is that huge stack of Bennie’s…👀
I am interested in that last part, you didn't give the part number. It looked like cash.
Nice find do that a few times make a person feel real good
I had an old craftsman that I started with when I was 13 cutting grass and it had that carburetor on it with the round air filter that brought back so many fun memories thank you love your videos.
Hey Taryl Good afternoon nice box of goodies the Slip dog brought over what go do with them with all this electric equipment coming out are you going to take course on how to fix that equipment 😢😢😢😢😂😂 take care my friends and there's your Dinner 😂😂
Lotta good parts there.
AWESOME!
Hey, those are 20 beer cans each In Aluminum easy! . Teh, heyeh heh heh. 🍺 Happy Eclipse day, Sort of excited myself! See if it gets dark a bit @14:00 hrs!
Great video, thumbs upwe all have lots of parts left over, was a good idea at the time 5 years later now outdated
What will we do with all these obsolete parts as more business goes out and more electric comes on??
Potentially, folks will be forced to buy electric as gas-powered stop being made, they'll get frustrated at the poor performance and a market for old gas-powered will open up. All the stuff in Elkskins' yard and such.
Agreed, and all of us always end up with leftover stock each year, still have lots of the old Briggs opposed twin cylinder air filters, old starter springs,
Electric is ok but at least I can finish my yard with a gas model were a battery I have to spend almost 400 more to get that luxury
Poor Slippers got the shaft for sure! Hehehehehe!
I've got an old crapsman eager 1 under my deck that carb would work on
I'll take 3 of those shim washers, and two flywheel nuts...
1,000+ views in less than half an hour!!
WORLD WIDE REACH, YA'LL!!😃
Those little stubby black bolts with washers does also fit the plastic Tecumseh fuel tanks I believe
Quick! Call Mick the Mower Man. He loves Tecumseh.
Hey Taryl enjoying the video and all your other 0nes, My question is do you have other mechanics working for you or are you and one man shop ????
Slippers, Junior, even Elk Skins the Human Shop Rag can help out.
Those Tecumseh nozzle o-rings seemed to be low quality garbage because the ethanol gas in Houston at least melted those things so fast !!
I'm always disappointed when a love note comes out and the dear Taryl love note voice doesn't....
COME ON MAN, you should have put two hundred back in envelope, pulling it out when slippers came back and shared the two hundred.😄
I had the same problem when I had to end my RV repair business.
Bunch of parts basically worthless because they were older and of no use to anyone else.
The best push mower I ever had was a weed eater brand with a Tecumseh engine. It got stolen. That mower rarely ever stalled out from too much grass.
Working on a lawnmower that has the same Vector carburetor got to replace it. It is like 29 years old.
That Red Plastic piece is for boat engine carbs
Taryl has lots of experience. 🥳
To taryl it's like Christmas in April
Funny how it seems like junk but go to buy one of those little bolts or carb parts and it costs an arm and a leg.
I have two of them Victor carburetors the first two you pulled out
I'm with Slippers on this one. 'junk expose'" Thanks for another day!
Taryl. Time to switch to the filter cigarettes!
I got an old Boat Motor Eska has a 9.5 tecumseh motor on it
No big deal but you let a seal escape unnoticed.
Not every seal gets a sound 🦭 😂
Slippers found gold thier some people use old small engine parts for their vintage mowers
Interact with your special guest Slippers more. Makes it more interesting.
New grass rat band THE FLYWHEEL NUTS!
KEEP!
KEEP!
KEEP!
What do you prefer plastic floats or brass floats?
Somebody get Terrell a glass of water geez
Hello Taryl
My 7.5 horsepower Ted Williams 2-stroke outboard takes those little rubber fuel pump diaphragms
you lucky dude wish I had that cash
21:18 Since then, I can't resist saying the same.
Should turn the trailer out back into the old parts house lots of room for stuff that doesn’t move quickly
How many of those * hundreds" will it take to fix a compression switch on a sears riding mower.heh,hey,hey.
Box of gold.
Did find a any oversize tvs 100 piston. Need to buy one
Im A grass rat who needs A Tecumseh diaphragm carburetor with the manual choke. I have A 1958 Jacobson commercial mower that's got A 3 horsepower 4 stroke engine that originally had A diaphragm carburetor with the manual choke. How much do you want for it?
yeah those cheap B&S plastic throttle shafts from the Quantum engines tend to break (I know I broke one)
TARLY SPLITTHE MONEY WITH SLIPPERS!
Great video and score on the parts but...... You know even though you guys planned that whole skit.... You should watch doing stuff like that because a lot of people don't know you and may think badly about what they see😢 and not watch again. Personal image is extremely important for all those trade shows and events you go to and you have to protect your image, even though the money was just a planned skit. 😂 Later! J Poll.
Keep an eye on that tickle Taryl. I had a tickle two weeks ago and it morphed into bacterial pneumonia..🤢😵💫😵
The plastic tote is worth more than all the parts.
#2 I'm watching 😁😁😁😁😁😁
Down in Sebring Florida, a bag lady's house caught fire. This woman would go around town with a shopping cart loaded with clothes. The firemen had a hard time extinguishing the fire because the piles of clothes in the house kept smoldering. So, they threw the clothes outside in huge piles.
One of the firemen noticed some of the clothing had money in them.
After extinguishing the fire they counted up $40,000 stashed in the clothing.
This was 1991 and no one could figure where all that money came from!
A stash of mad money, all in n a days work. Always check the backs of old family pictures and books before you huckem.
My buddy and I were going through his dad’s hvac business surplus parts before they sold the place, he wasn’t much of a hoarder like me so I took two trailer loads of stuff and he took some tools and small things. I cluttered my shop with the stuff I grabbed and it sat for about a year then one day I was sorting through it and found little over three thousand dollars worth of old silver quarters and dimes that were rolled and in a cardboard box, that I thought was bolts because it was heavy. The collector value was probably more. Made his day when I told him to come over that I had a surprise for him , he said he knew his dad had saved up these coins when he and his sister were little but didn’t know what he had done with them. We had planned on going back to look for the other coins but his sister sold the place before we could go back.
come on dude. he brought it to you.
hi
Poor Slippers 🤔
🖖
That stand off bolt looks like a muffler bolt for a chainsaw
Awesome video thanks for sharing
We was able to buy engines when we worked there for like 25. 00 but only a couple a year
so now every shop's employees will be rooting thru the old stock looking for Benjamins.
Yo yo me old mucker
Hey there Mick hope you’re on the mend buddy
@@TarylFixesAll getting there mate.. hope you and the family are well.. must check in on each other soon..
