People if you haven't checked out his Instagram do it. The information there is absolutely 💯 outstanding and easy to follow 👌 gems 💎 in there I tell ya.
I'd actually enjoy that, too. I got a little stoned last night and was pondering the effects of heavy metals and other contaminants on the plant and the consumer, mostly because I use a few ocean based (kelp/phytoplankton/fish poop) fertilizers.
Me too! I let my plants listen to heavy metal too. Metallica seems to be popular. Seriously though I use liquid kelp and have heard it could be an issue.
Great video as always brother. Thank you so much for everything you do. I've been growing for my wife who has stage 4 metastatic breast cancer for 2 years now. A little over a year ago I switched to the BAS products and couldn't be happier. Her quality of life has greatly improved because of the information that you have taught me. Thanks again...🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
I met Brandon Rust in a grow store in OKC, I was star struck! Cool dude with amazing knowledge! I understand he reads books like nobody else! He’s always talking stuff way over my head but once in a while my brain will grasp what he is teaching and BAM! I’m a better gardener! Thanks Brandon! Thanks Chris!
Brandon Rust!!! Is hands down the best at explaining all this. His brain is holding so much knowledge I mean he could have did anything in life he wanted to he so smart!!!
I couldn't help but notice that several individual "Liquid products", made with "around 96% water", like Humic and Fulvic Acids, Silica, and much more, are all available in your New "Stash Blend"! I know this is an older video, but of the many great supplements he goes through, I couldn't help not thinking of "Stash Blend". Something to be proud of!👍💯🙏✌️
Shout out to you Chris, I’ve listened to pretty much every garden talk 2-3 times minimum. Keep up the great interviews. I’ve learned a lot from your platform for sure. I personally think that anyone that smokes in a legal area should grow at least a small plant. I think that would really boost the normalization of weed.
Yeah Chris, I've already added this one to the rewatchable file, LOL lot of information there, good job Chris, I'm definitely going to be checking out more of rust stuff
wow Brandon andJeremy Silvia have got to be my 2 favorite guests so far. this is one of my favorite episides... i hope you can find more organic/no till experts to interview.
Great interview man I always enjoy different perspectives. What I've learned through the years is even if you have some synthetic nutrients leftover or something, try to use them for a specific grow because it's pretty difficult to recycle stuff like that and you don't want it to end up in our waterways or environment. Just food for thought
This was one of the best episodes I've seen good sir. Well done! As I make the move to organic amendments this was the perfect video jumping off point and resource base. 👏
Thank you Chris for bringing back this kind gentleman 🤘😎🤘 I’ve been doing dry amendments for the past 4 years and love to re learn/learn for the sake of the soils. Hats off to you for giving us the content and the experience on this channel ✌️💚🌱growmies.
Great channel bro ! I love listening to these types of topics. Can you please talk with someone who is expert on worms and know how to make best castings there possible can be done by nature ? And how to setup some worm farm step by step? That would be great !
When Brandon first came on, everything he said went over my head. Since then, I have been reading and experimenting and I can know listen to him and understand better. But I do have a couple points to address. 39:15 I'd be scared to use soybean meal. It's one of the most heavily GMO'd things on the market. 42:30 I don't use kelp meal for the NPK. I use it for the PGRs and auxins and I only use it in small amounts. If money is no object and you can afford to import cold pressed quillaja, it IS better.
I have been using my pothos plant water from DWC to my aloe plant and the aloe vera keeps producing more. I heard it has root promoting hormones in it.👍✌️
Thinking I spent quite a bit for a bunch of red wigglers for composting and there's people out there losing them to fish nibbles. 😆 Nightcrawlers for bigger fish as red wigglers are just tiny little guys in comparison. Used to pick nightcrawlers, fun times.
My dad always told me if I take from the land I must give back and nothing goes to waste I use bones from my harvests and fish waste for jadam fish fertilizer
This whole using organics for a plant you have in the soil for only a few months. Beneficial bacteria can form very quickly, but the fungi networks take too long to be part of the equation. The initial colonization takes weeks and the fungi network takes months. The fungi would only be working at the end of the grow.
Great video. Watched this a few times. Only question I have is how much sulfur is toxic? People saying it’s not possible, some say yes. What kind of PPM values on a Mehlick 3 would be toxic in potting soil?
Absolutely amazing episode 👏 would love to hear your or Brandon's thoughts on cinderite, apparently replaces basalt, biochar AND perlite all in one and NEVER breaks down. Somehow differs in mineral content from greensand or basalt, and has higher micronutrient ratios??!? Seems applicable to the next episode😶
Gentlemen I don't want you to think I do not appreciate the effort to educate me about organic soil composition. But my head is already almost full of cannabis science. I'm going to walk away informed but I retained about 7% of that discussion. Dealing with PPFD, PPM, EC, pH, VPD the how much and when of nutrients for growing autos well my plate is full R/N but thanks for trying.
I think I've never seen or heard you guys talk about sips! Especially when growing organic, and when you talk about easy growing, I myself think that's the easiest once dialed in! What's your take?
About the azomite, i think homegrowers rarely have like 5 different trace mineral products. And i dont think they would be interesting in paying for them. I always thought of rock dust/azomite as a way to frontload trace minerals in a soil, if you dont test yor soil. I mean to use those sulphate type trace minerals, you sure would have to test the soil before knowing what and how much to add
This is probably a terrible question that I should know the answer to anyway but I can’t find a definitive answer anywhere. Anyways, can I daisy chain my veg tent light to my flower tent light or do I need to use separate outlets and timers? Thanks for all your content it really is helpful for us new growers. I have the 2023 model szhlux pta4000 lights (400watt)
AC Infinity Controller 69 will operate up to 4 lights on different schedules. Their adapters may control any light and if not, their Control Plug will do it. I use an adapter for a Mars Hydro LED and a Control Plug for another.
Great information as always, thank you for what you do and the knowledge you share with us ✌👊 also I downloaded Jorge Cervantes new free ebook ! What a read:) can never learn enough ! Also I got John berfelo's led lighting book too it's got some great spectrum information and I think he added a led dli chart calculator for free too. Cheers everyone ^_^ 🤟
Thanks for the info! I love Jorge. He was my first guy I learned from about 15 years ago. Sadly I had to take a 13 year break but I’m getting back into it. I couldn’t be more excited!
Really interesting stuff about CEC and microbial metabolism in relation to photosynthesis I'm looking forward for more info on the topic! Also all this info about bug repellant with foliar sprays could use diving into :3
I’ve been researching what Silica product to use and it would be my only non OMRI addition to my grow. I was looking into PowerSi, Impellobio Dune, Montana Grow, diatomaceous earth, and wollastonite. I’m going crazy trying to decide what to use. Any suggestions would be much appreciated as I’m concerned about the powder from DE and Woll. I’ve read that the food grade DE is fine but I’m still skeptical. After this video, it’s time to research Agsil16H. Amazing video! Thanks guys!
De works well for me, I have little or no problems with pests and diseases, and my plants are strong and healthy with stalks like tree branches. Add early, before the planting if possible and topdress again later in veg. Humic and fulvic acids and a healthy mycorrhizae of beneficial bacteria and fungi fed with carbohydrates will all help digest and make it available quickly, even better if you're using live worms in your soil for castings and nutrient conversion. It's the only one of those that's truly naturally occurring and organic.
Thanks to Brandon Rust for coming onto the podcast today!

Right up my alley. This is the content I love. Would love to see an episode dedicated to heavy metals.
Me too as well and ways of testing in home and so on.
Same
I'd actually enjoy that, too.
Yeah same, i use some seakelp, "algenkalk" in german
And im scared of heavy metals in my soil, from water and stonemeals and whatever
Chris and Brandon you guys rock! Brandon is one of the best dudes in the community!! Amazing teacher and humble student of life!
Great video as always brother. Thank you so much for everything you do. I've been growing for my wife who has stage 4 metastatic breast cancer for 2 years now. BAS 💪💪
My prayers for your wife and your family. 🙏
So sorry to hear about your wife's illness. Please google Joe Tippens' cancer protocol and fenbendazole. Good luck.
That’s beautiful and big prayers to your wife and family. 🙏
I find your channel to be the most educational without all the stoner talk. Straight and to the point!
Holy Cow!!! The Video I was waiting for, already existed… I just had to dig deeper to your Channel Chris! Awesome Guest!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Brandon Rust!!! Is hands down the best at explaining all this. His brain is holding so much knowledge I mean he could have did anything in life he wanted to he so smart!!!
This is definitely one to rewatch a few times
Rust is great. Answered all my questions on ig everytime.
Brilliant show Chris! ...... I will need to re-watch this several times ..... a real knowledge overload! Thanks again for all your work Sir!
Brandon is the ROCKSTAR of Cannabis...dudes a smart and driven guy with great teaching abilities. #MajorRespectForThatGuy ✌🏾️💨

This will be one of those episodes i re-watch a bunch of times!!
Doing it now.
Brandon Rust kills it ✨✨
I was watching about electroculture and he said that he used basalt rock because it has a higher ec level than other rocks. That's what I always add 😉
I have heard Brandon before what a wealth of knowledge!! And has a great story about his life from prison to owning his own business
Yeah Chris, I've already added this one to the rewatchable file, LOL lot of information there, good job Chris, I'm definitely going to be checking out more of rust stuff
Brandon is the Man!! Super Smart Guy
wow Brandon andJeremy Silvia have got to be my 2 favorite guests so far. this is one of my favorite episides... i hope you can find more organic/no till experts to interview.
I can’t find kiaja. How do I find that?
Great interview man I always enjoy different perspectives. I love how chis interviews ❤
You're really on a winning streak with these episodes/ guests🎉🎉🎉
You know what we call Brandon, Chris? A Wicked Smaht Kid
Yeah, smahht. 😆
He’s not a kid though 😂 dude is an adult
good conversation i agree maybe bone meal is not the best but its good to use what is already available.
much love brother! yet again another awesome informative episode.
you make my day when you post Chris, keep up the amazing work you're doing!
I appreciate that!
Thank you Chris for bringing back this kind gentleman 🤘😎🤘 I’ve been doing dry amendments for the past 4 years and love to re learn/learn for the sake of the soils. Hats off to you for giving us the content and the experience on this channel ✌️💚🌱growmies.
Yes calcium is a bit slower but it’s my gardens Butler. Takes care of a lot of smaller things but also runs a clean game.
Great channel bro ! I love listening to these types of topics. Can you please talk with someone who is expert on worms and know how to make best castings there possible can be done by nature ? And how to setup some worm farm step by step? That would be great !
That would be an awesome video, I haven't even considered making my own box until reading this :D
Y WOULDN'T I LISTEN TO IT AGAIN GREAT KNOWLEDGE THANKS GUYS
So much great info in this one! I wish Brandon would have made recommendations for where to have your soil and water tested, however.
I have seen leaf infusion feeding when my father in law grew tomatoes big as my head.
When Brandon first came on, everything he said went over my head. Since then, I have been reading and experimenting and I can know listen to him and understand better. But I do have a couple points to address.

BuildASoil Quillaja Saponaria Extract Powder 20. $20/2oz.
I have been using my pothos plant water from DWC to my aloe plant and the aloe vera keeps producing more. I heard it has root promoting hormones in it.👍✌️
True. I clone/root with pothos clone water.
💚👍excellent! Loads of info, more please. Thank you both✌
Smoooth like a summer's breeze...
So you can add all your leave matter back to the soil? I was never sure if I could just put it all in
As they say, "That's a lot to process." ;)
Plants adore kelp!
Thank you for class Brandon and Mr. Grow It 🙌🏽🙏🏽🇹🇭
That funny moment when you go to buy red worms for your plants and they think that your about to go fishing lmao🤣🤣🤣
Haha I usually buy mine from the bait shop
Thinking I spent quite a bit for a bunch of red wigglers for composting and there's people out there losing them to fish nibbles. 😆
Nightcrawlers for bigger fish as red wigglers are just tiny little guys in comparison. Used to pick nightcrawlers, fun times.
Just happened to me here in Michigan last yr. It's reality !! LOL 🤣🤣
I feel like im rescueing them
That moment when your GF pees on my bald head.
Anti kelp meal 👀👀👀🥶
That's gonna be on garden talk clips real fast lol
Can't wait here we go.
Another great one Chris!!
IMHO besides Haber bosch nitrogen which is in everything we eat anyway, EDTA is what I think of when I think of synthetics.
Can we have another video on specifically heavy metals in our fertilizers? Especially kelp products?
Great video but as far as heavy metals in the soil there is a wide variety of plants that can be used to remove the metals
My dad always told me if I take from the land I must give back and nothing goes to waste I use bones from my harvests and fish waste for jadam fish fertilizer
Great show. Good info... thanks guys!
So wish I was in your area. Would love to get a 1 2 1 on medicinal plants. I'm in the uk tho
Super informative. One of your best
I appreciate that!
Thanks for free knowledge

what a spectacular vanacular
Great episode!!! I was going to be adding soluble langmanite next week... Not anymore 🤣🤣🤣

Learning doesn't happen all at once. Rewatch videos and you will get more out of them.
Any thoughts on grounding beds or pots to our earths ground? Will that inprove yields on anything that we grow also?

So Greensand takes about 15 months to break down from my research
Fermented 2 row, sprouted barley.
Great episode
My heads spinning 😊
Haha no shit gonna have to watch that a few times to absorb. And yeah, part three would be sick!

Amazing.
Where can i get Calcium silicate? Does it have a name or brand that makes it?
Thank you
Great info
i wonder if we can make a fruit juice to feed our plants
Interesting idea. 💡
Fpj can be made to feed plants at different stages of life check out some videos on UA-cam
I have a gro ? When is the last time u defoliate. ? It was in flower but I dunno the weeks.

@@brianmorris364great to hear! That’s what I ended up using. Partially because of fungus gnats but regardless, it works. lol
Rice hulls are great as mulch and release silica as they break down.
How do you spell the stuff he was suggesting as a kelp alternative
Quillaja bro

Ionic bond!
DUDE, Where is the microbe + and spores? You are out. I panicked. Lol.
So far 3rd time watching it, so much interesting information 🤔
