Dana is protecting Jones at all costs. He wants to say that his lil GOAT is undefeated, which technically isn’t true. Any other fighter woulda been stripped of the HW title and any other fighter that had done the things that Jon has done over the years woulda been fired a long time ago. I’m not saying it would be easy, but at this stage of their careers Aspinal beats Jon and definitely Stipe

I love Stipe but there’s absolutely nothing in the universe that can convince me he’s a tougher fight for Jones than Tom is. Jon can make every excuse in the book as to why Stipe is tougher, I ain’t buying it, he’s lying his ass off. He wants easier, more lucrative fight.
I don’t think either Jones or Stipe are afraid of Tom or ‘don’t want the smoke’, but 100% neither of them want the risk. Stipe doesn’t want to risk the lower PPV purse, he wants a guaranteed payout against Jones… and Jones wants the easy ‘legacy’ fight to retire on a high note, and doesn’t want to risk losing to Tom. Jon Jones. Stipe Miocic. Both men paid the price and achieved rare legendary status. Both men are now in their twilight. They've earned the right to fight each other with a title on the line. Are they holding up Tom from being a champion? Yes. Is Tom being champion faster more important than showing these 2 legends the respect they deserve? No. Is it fair to Tom? No. But Tom has 6-8 years ahead of him. Jon and Stipe have 6-12 months. Stipe, Jon and the UFC are playing this right. A Jon / Tom fight is even bigger next year if Jon beats Stipe. It will also be a bigger money fight for both Tom and Jon then.

@Harry-hh1is Werdum, Hunt, Nelson, Overeem, Ngannou, DC twice, JDS. What of it? That was literally all 7-14 years ago... Stipe looked bad in that third DC fight despite winning, and he looked far worse against Ngannou in the rematch. Way too light, hesitant, bad judgement with the takedown, no more of that slick head movement, no killer instinct, no willingness to plant his feet and sit down on his shots to make Ngannou stop headhunting, just none of it. He looked done. He's the 265 GOAT, and has had 20+ years of combat sports. He's empty. It's alright. I wish him a great final payday and retirement win or lose. But let us just stop pretending that he's a competitive 265 top contender right now. He isn't. I'm just happy he's fighting Jon and not Tom or Pavlovich, because those two men DAMAGE people when they take them out, whereas Jon just gently kisses them a bit for a decision win. Casual here 😬 Why can't Jon and Stipe fight, and drop the belt. I didn't hear Stipe talking about the title, it was just about fighting Jon. Let them get it on but in the meantime, let the up-and-comers compete for the belt?
Cause the longer someone has a belt, his fights are more relevant = more money for everyone. Knowing this, the UFC lets him pick the fights he thinks he can win. This case is extreme so its showing the reality. Remember fighting its not only a sport, its also a business.

@@StallionFernando Tom will wear Francis with grappling and he is way faster than him
It's the most shameful thing in the UFC in a long while preventing Tom from fighting for the title, on top of that Jon is holding up the division for more than a year and on top of that the INTERIM champ doesn't get an immediate shot ones Jones is back, it's such big bs it's amazing really.
It's because 2 legends in their own right are battling! Either they will both retire or 1 will retire. We all like Aspinall but us old heads would rather see Stipe vs. Jones 1st then they can open the gates back up after that.
"my opinion of Tom? im really thankful Jones is so scared of him"

@@jonathan2755 why is he avoiding the fight. Aspinall is ranked 1º right now, that answers ur question. But still, If Jones is so confident to win, why not fight the best fighter as soon as possible? Not really. Stipe wants to fight for the real belt as originally planned. Jones is arguably the goat so why would Stipe want to fight Aspinall now as he's not ranked #1 p4p and doesn't have the real belt? Stipes also the most winningest UFC HW of all time so Jones can put that on his record.

The prospect of a win over Tom isn’t worth the risk for him.
All of this would be fine if they weren’t both criminally holding up the division and allowing the UFC to turn into boxing, where it’s all about exhibition.
No fighter is ''scared'' of another, but they are absolutely scared of losing. Jones clearly is.

@Harry-hh1is You sound like Jon Jones desperately trying to justify fighting 42yo who hasn't won a fight in 4 years, because of who Stipe was beating back in 2015-2018. Of course anyone can rattle off all of Dom Cruz's achievements, but if O'Malley was turning down a BW interim-champ (lets say Merab/Umar/Cory) and demanding the fight with BW-Goat Cruz, then everyone would be right to say he was ducking
@Harry-hh1is how many years ago?
@Harry-hh1is Werdum, Hunt, Nelson, Overeem, Ngannou, DC twice, JDS. What of it? That was literally all 7-14 years ago... I was the biggest Stipe fan and hope to GOD that he sends Jon's duckhead into orbit since that'd be the most brutally poetic karma for Jon ducking Tom so hard all we hear is quacks only for Stipe to do to him exactly what Jon knows Tom would, but I just don't see it happening.
Worst case he submits them. Neither causes lasting damage.

Can you name anyone on Jones' LHW run who was an 'up-and-comer' younger than him? There is literally only 1, and it's Dom Reyes, who beat Jones pretty easily. Also the only 'legacy' you get calling out a 42yo who hasn't won a fight in 4+ years (and coming off a brutal KO loss 3.5 years earlier) is the legacy of ducking the HW-champ Aspinall. Do you find it suspicious that Jones is calling out Sitpe/Alex, these 4-1 underdogs, while refusing to even mention the HW-champ, who is a slight-favourite to beat him?
