I had an opaque plastic grocery bag wrap around my helmet on a highway in Texas. It's a terrifying experience and forces you to make one of two unpleasant choices... release a handlebar while blind in an attempt to pull it off (good luck if you try this)... or hit the brakes while blind without any idea where you'll end up. Trying to pull the bag off at speed is near impossible as the wind holds it on as if it were under suction -- plus, you now only have one hand on the handlebars, making hitting your brakes infinitely more dangerous. I hit the brakes and fortunately came to a stop almost exactly on top of the center line (as opposed to over it in oncoming traffic). As the bike stopped, the bag (as if by magic) released and floated away.
I remember watching this live on tv, lucky nobody was badly hurt!
