- In this latest episode Bill Panoff takes travelers on an adventure through the US Virgin Islands. We'll try local foods, explore 16th ruins, swim with dolphins, meet local artists and embark on a treasure hunt through St Thomas.
Our adventure kicks off in St Thomas as we walk the famous 99 steps and find ourselves pulled in to a tropical treasure hunt. From there, we cool off with a dolphin swim at one of the largest attractions in St. Thomas and then jump on a quick ferry ride to St. John.
At St. John we soak in the history at Catherineberg ruins. We head over to Wharfside village and meet one of the local jewelry artists living on the island. After a quick stop at one of the most famous beaches in St. John we grab a drink at the BEST bar in town and call it a night.

Thank you for your comment! I'm so glad you enjoyed.
Oh man... I remember that shop. I went there every day for years. They had Sour Sap ice cream. My kid always ordered Johnny cakes and cheese. As far back as 1974. I lived there between 74 and 2008. Nice video. Thanks for the memories ❤️

Enslaved Africans, not African Slaves.
I enjoyed this program and embrace our territory's cultural diversity, but I'm disappointed that no faces of deep melanin were included and that the story was carefully narrated to sell us as a vacation destination rather than a heritage and eco space. And there were no slaves. Individuals were enslaved. "Enslaved" is the appropriate term. Disappointed! #BillPanoff
Hi Chalana, Thank you for watching and for your valuable feedback. The portion of script that uses the word slave is a direct quote from the World Heritage Encyclopedia and therefore was not altered. According to the World Heritage Encyclopedia - “ In 1733 one of the first significant slave rebellions in the New World took place on Saint John when African slaves took over the island for six months. During the revolt, the farm here was the headquarters of the Amina warriors.” It is important for us to have these conversations, so we thank you again for your feedback and will take all accounts into consideration for future programming.
