I went to school with the brothers. I remember them as personable. The selection is good, prices are fair. The family has been in the business since I can remember, way before this current location. Kenny is very knowledgeable.
Nice!
Appreciate the info!🤜🤛
This place is literally every knife enthusiasts wet dream.
😂😂😎
Thanks for the video I live an hour away in Dallas had no idea it was there will be making the trip very soon.
Nice! I wish I was that close🙂
Thank for taking us along. Beautiful knives
No problem! 🤜🤛
I've got fond memories of this store, bought my first pocket knife from here as a kid, it was a Kershaw Compound.
Nice! Definitely a great place!
I was born at Carswell AFB in 71 this is my home. I have been going to The House of Blades long before this location. I was going when I was jta kid when they was located right before the 199 Lake Worth bridge. The greatest thing about walking in there was the live Puma the guy had in there. He had some other animals in there too but for the life of me I can't remember. It was my mom that introduced me to this great place. The older guy that ran the place was just as cool as they came. I've even got great memories of the location of where the new House of Blades sits. Watching air shows from that empty field right there on 820 riding dirt bikes with my buddy Dennis. Home sweet home
Live Puma! That's awesome!
It's definitely a great place and I'm learning it has a lot of history!
Appreciate you sharing your experience!
Bought CRK UMNUMZAAN from them a few years ago. Great price and shipped to me quickly! Great shop.
Nice! That's great to hear!
I used to live down the street. Wish I went more often. Awesome store and nice people
Nice and I agree!
Amazing
🤜🤛
Thanks for sharing! Enjoyed the tour. For me personally if it can’t be done with Cold Steel, ESEE, or a Terava Skrama bring a chainsaw a shovel or a 12ga.
You should bring those as well anyway.
No problem and great advice! 💯💯
😂😂
Looks like they have restocked, it's been a couple years since I've been in there, the Internet, Amazon and eBay nearly took them down, last time I was there their shelves and knife selection was going downhill. The whole right side use to be full of super high dollar knives and kitchen ware, there WAS NO yeti cups years ago it was All knives. YES,,,they were seriously over priced back in the day, now I believe they will price match Amazon/EBay. It's SO good to see them renewed and in great shape again, I'll have to go back, it had gotten disappointing to go in there it was so bad. I would rather buy at a knife store, pawn shops, flea markets, gun and knife shows, and of course BLADE SHOW TX. than buy off the Internet though ONCE in a while I will, I just like the interaction, the stories of others intrest in knives or whatever I'm buying, yes you can get the same thing on the Internet but you CAN'T get the experience or the memory, think of as an event. NOW, if you're from Texas close to Ft Worth, I'm an hr and a half west of there, try also going GIBSONS in Weatherford, the last one on the planet, it use to be the general store that had everything, hunting, fishing, you name it they had till Walmart came in and shut them down plus MANY more places, SAD. Anyway they have a pretty good knife selection, Benchmades, Kershaw, CRKT, ZT, Cold steel and their new brand TEKTO, Plus Case and others. Here's the deal,,, they're cheaper than you can get them online for the most part. I recently picked up the TEKTO G maskus F3 Charlie for like $98 before taxes. Was in there about 3 weeks ago, checked out the Benchmade Raghorn, $199, normally around $230-240. About three years ago I picked up a ZT 0452, $198 , cheapest online price was $265 at the time. So when you get a chance go show them some love LoL, no it's not a monster selection like the House of Blades but it's good enough for the travel and expect to walk away with something because you can't pass up an amazing deal. And their gun selection and hunting department, lets just say, Walmart doesn't stand a chance. If you want exceptional deals check pawn shops with a good hunting section, they generally have good name brand knives, Spydercos, Benchmades and the like, if you're wanting to expand your collection and not be super picky on a particular knife but staying with a name brand, take some time and try as many different ones as you can and you'll get the feel of which ones will generally have the better selections, for the most part if someone KNOWS their guns they know their knives and will trade, I've picked up Spydercos for $50-$100 LESS and others than new and 99 percent of the time they're unused or next to perfect. I won't buy one that's been thrashed. Example, Spyderco Civilian, used maybe twice and I guess the idiot used it as a throwing knife and about 1/6-1/8 inch was broke off the tip, no big deal really, ESPECIALLY for $80, fixed it , if you didnt know the knife you wouldnt know. Spyderco Szabo picked it up for like $150 after it was discontinued and it was ALREADY a $300 knife. Spyderco Matriarch 2 and a Benchmade Bedlam at a flea market from the same seller on a bundle deal for an INSANE PRICE for $175,,, FOR BOTH. Happy hunting, check the pawn shops often as you can, HAPPY HUNTING. Stay safe and God bless.
I didn't know that about them, glad to hear they didn't go under.
I'll have to check out Gibsons for sure, appreciate you telling me about them!
I've definitely seen some goodies at some shops around me and online is definitely a great place for deals, but like you said, the experience of interaction with other people is what makes it even better.
Appreciate the comment and God bless! 🤜🤛
I have driven by there several times and every time I say, we need to stop. Drove past there a few weeks and did just that. I too live four hours away.
Nice! It's a great place, especially to get some knives in hand!
Seems like I saw a closed house of blades in deep ellem Dallas when I was passing thru few months ago.
🤔
The Curtis Customs F3 is super stiff at first but it breaks in ohhh sooo nice! I could hardly even reverse flick mine when it was new but after a week or so it gets really good and is still one of my top favorites in the collection after a year and a half of ownership
That's good to know, it's definitely on my radar. I'll try and snag one eventually🙂
I'm glad to find another Texan customizer
🤜🤛😎
They have a good variety of knives, but I think their purchase agent only focuses on certain types in certain brands. We are a little pricier than other places. You have to remember it’s very convenient though. I buy a lot of noise from House of blades. When the old man was still around, I thought he had a better eye at purchasing stock
Good to know, appreciate the info!
I drove all the way from Houston to check that place out last year. I also wish I had a store like that in Houston. 😩
Nice, pick anything up?
A knife store in any city is a must!😂😂
@@KnathansKnives I bought a Ultratech tanto from there. I actually just recently sold it on knife swap because I didn’t really carry it at all.
Sweet! No worries, as long as it goes to a good home🙂
I love that place. I live in the area and work very close to that place
Nice! Definitely a great place!
Got 5 olight products, and 2 oknife products. Which, I loiiiiiivvv
Nice! Olight makes great lights!
I bought 3 warncliffe spyderco enduras from them their Black Friday sale 50 bucks each
Nice! That's a steal of a deal!
That's a cool video thanks for sharing my favorite toy store in the Fort Worth area but the one thing you should have focused more on is the staff there that's what makes that store so incredibly special they are such awesome people
Thank you and no problem!
I'll definitely create a better video once I visit that place again🙂
Very nice shop, wish ww had something similar in edmonton alberta.
🤜🤛
Can someone please explain knives to me? I like karambits because I can spin them. I like balisongs because I can flip them. But what's the appeal of spending many hundreds of dollars on knives that just kind of sit there? I dont get it.
It's like collecting anything. It's about enjoying the hunt and anticipation of finding something new you love. Premium modern knives on bearings with good deployments and comfortable lock disengagements are actually very enjoyable to play with. The precision and smoothness is incredibly satisfying. Knives are fashion accessories, fidget toys and tools all in one. They also usually hold their value very well, especially the more limited stuff. I've sold or traded knives for much more than I paid new many many times.
@@jdisdetermined Whoa. Thanks for this answer. Im super figity. My hands are always doing something, so I like the karambits and balisongs, but didn't think other knives could provide the same thing. I think I understand a little better now. Thank you.
Well, for me it's collecting or purchasing to customize. Mainly customizing though🙂
i go there sometimes awesome store
Nice! Definitely love they're selections!🤜🤛
@@KnathansKnives im fellow texan myself and o yea i know whole crew
thaaks for the vid
🤜🤛🙂
Been going here since it was down the road.Go see Kenny. He will fix ya up.
Nice! Appreciate it!
@@KnathansKnives Its right next to the Jacksboro Highway .The old store was right off of it.Very entertaining history of gangsters and millionaires who ran that strip.Lots of Cut-n-Shoots where they swept a bucket of eyeballs up every morning! Lol
AINT IT FUN BEING FROM TEXAS!
😂😂 Appreciate the breakdown 🤜🤛
I just got the giant mouse tribeca titanium pocket knife it is a thing of beauty. Definitely not a cheap one lol.
Nice! I do love that model, need to pick one up myself! 😎
@@KnathansKnives it's such a great knife. Definitely get it.
@@jasonlewis6914 I'll see what I can do 🙂
I have been there several times. The selection of Gränsfors Bruks axes is very good. The selection of Spyderco knives is disappointing. They have a significant amount of gas station knives.
🤜🤛
Brotha, I’m in San Antonio. I just discovered Trapper Jon’s blade shop. It’s San Antonio’s first dedicated knife shop and has only been open 4 weeks. Please visit this shop and help get the name out.
Trapper Jon’s off Blanco and Mission Ridge
What?! I'm in San Antonio too, the only place I know of is Nagels gun store. I got my first Cold Steel there, Mini Recon 1. Way overpriced lol but it's the pre GSM model. I'll definitely check this new store out👍🔪🗡️🇺🇲.
@@adrianfytr35
Yup check him out. Already bought four knives from him. He even had the Benchmade CLA black which has been back ordered for a while now.
Trapper Jon’s. Off of Blanco and Mission ridge intersection his shop address is already on google.
Awesome! I'll have to check them out!
Looks great. I'll have to drive to ft worth 2 check it out. Do yall have new hera 2
Definitely worth it!
I'm not sure if they have it but you can always check their site🙂
House of Blades was always cool looking crap. But looks cool now
🤜🤛
Awesome Store, Bro! :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
It really is! 🤜🤛
I can’t believe you come to Fort Worth and didn’t call me to meet you there
My bad brother, next time! 🤜🤛
Olight flashlights have killed several people. The batteries blew up while holding the flashlight in the mouth if I recall.
That's crazy! I haven't heard about that🤔
Well that's their fault... Not supposed to put them in your mouth in the first place.
Good point🤜🤛
It’s called an ATLAS lock
Appreciate it 🤜🤛
At 16:30 when you close the knife right on your finger is why I do not liner locks. It totally puts the blade in contact with your finger. With a high end edge you will bleed every time you closed it. Handsome blade but no thanks. Not safe IMO
Fair point but it's something you do get used to over time🙂
@@KnathansKnives get into sharpening at a high level and that will break that habit.
@@jeepnwithdog That's understandable.
Definitely expensive place to buy a pocket knife.
Debatable 🙂
HoB went way downhill after the main crew left to run the blade shop at *that* gun store
You should do a do-over when you’re not rushed, bumping into customers, and filming while facing polished glass and bright reflections. The idea of the walk-through was a good one, it just didn’t work out well.
I'll definitely do a better job on the next one, appreciate it! 🤜🤛
Camera spin made me sick
My bad, still learning cinematography.
A question, you are entering this store without any type of blade on you or in your car. When in the store, war I declared, a civil war between the knife folks vs the no knife folks. The owner say, you could bring, for free, one fixed blade and one folder/multitool. Because the store will probably be looted or in a blockade. Which will You choose?
Not sure, I'd have to think about that one🤔
Nice selection, but tons of way overpriced cheap stuff.
🤜🤛
Good Show
Appreciate it!
Next time, slow down, steady that camera.
Add some close ups, and maybe do a two "parter" so that we are able to actually see a few of the knives.
Appreciate the heads up, I'll definitely do that next time! 🤜🤛
Most over priced place I’ve ever been to
You guys are incredibly lucky to have access to options in terms of shopping… I live in Tahiti , here we only have a couple shops selling « real good knives » and let me tell you something, the owners are greedy af , only option for us is internet ( shipping can take up to fkn 3 months) or getting ripped by one of these shops. For example they priced a spyderco pacific salt black blade for over 300$😅
Viva America !🇺🇸
🤔
Definitely blessed, God bless America!
That's unfortunate that they do that where you are, knife laws are strange in some countries😕
@@ThreeLAdventures It seems that all the brick and mortar stores have noticeably higher prices than online retailers with very few exceptions. On the flip side of that, brick and mortar stores are good places to actually handle knives you’re interested in, saving you from having to return knives that just don’t make the cut, so I thank them for that.
@@daviddoucet2220 brick and morter stores generally have more overhead cost then online stores. Depending on what it is I will set a cost difference. Example would be, if the store vs online is only $20 extra, I'll buy it at the store.
