Outstanding idea. I have a few plates that I have laying around that I have picked up curbside shopping. I think I will use your idea to make a few Christmas gifts for friends and a couple of family members.

I acquired a bunch of old license plate and looked for a project to incorporate them. This is, by far, the coolest idea on the internet. I used my dovetail jig to make it easier for assembly but still have trouble getting the measurements correctly. I probably slept through that geometry class. Anyway, thanks for the idea and keep up the awesome videos.

such a cool basic project. I knew there was a reason I saved the plates of my very first car. Got a box to make. Thanks for sharing.....

I think that is a super idea. I have a pair of old licence plates that I had on my car years ago and will not use them anymore so I think you just gave me a great idea on how to retire them so to speak. Thank you for the idea.

nice project, I found when making boxes like these to put 3 sides together first letting it dry and then sliding the top and bottom then glueing on the last side and then cutting off the top

I always thought liscence plates would make cool drawer fronts in a man cave.
also the wipe on poly usually needs 4 or more coats. you can make your own 75% poly 25% mineral spirits.

Nice job! I love the rustic look. I actually just finished a license plate planter myself. Maybe you can pop by and check it out sometime. Good luck!
