Soooo beautiful. Funny how soothing it is to hear the sound of the paddling and look around that just crystal glass water. Soooo jeally. Thank you for sharing, it brings so many smiles.
We LOVE the 360 option. It gives us a great option to explore with you. We are already planning our first fall trip up there, from Cincinnati. My 6 year old loves to watch you two. Thanks for inviting us to watch.
This is my first of your videos. I love it. Thank you for uploading. I’ve been struggling a bit with insomnia recently and this has calmed my thoughts. Still can’t sleep, but at least panic isn’t keeping me awake.
I just got caught up missed last video & this one....I closed my eyes when you skinny dipped.lol..Trip looked like a lot of fun..nice weather too...🛶⛺️🔥....T.Gunz......
Thats great! Thanks for sharing this. I've been thinking about doing VR myself and have a Theta kicking around somewhere. It was good to see how you used it. I've read that shots with movement can cause an upset belly?? Have you found that at all?
I had to replay a few times the section where you stop paddling and coast... I thought it was frozen! Nope. Just a perfectly consistently formed bow wave... and a bow paddler who turns her head very, very, very slowly... like she's a blue heron, lol. (The t-rex will never find Julie.) And the faint drip off the paddle. That still water as you're gliding through... wow. But what happened with the weather before/after? Was this a calm before a storm? :O
So peaceful! We had wind everyday during our week of camping. I am amazed that you have not met other canoes. We were never lonely. The 360 videos are just fantastic!
Quick question Chris. About these digital files. Can you direct me to a link explaining why these files cannot be incorporated within a standard video file. And why you have to upload a separate video file.
That's a great question! I don't have a link at hand, though I think I can (hopefully) explain it. The 360° VR file that I upload to UA-cam is "injected" with meta data that maps the entire image to the inside of a sphere, which your device or browser is at the centre of. It communicates to the end-user what parts of the image need to be projected in front of you when you look in a particular direction with your phone for example... but that meta data isn't yet supported within the confines of UA-cam's 2D content (...though it wouldn't surprise me if they figure out a way to merge the two experiences with annotated links that the user could select at points along the way in a 2D video). I can technically flatten parts of the VR image into a stretched-out equirectangular view and put it into our main trip videos (which is essentially what GoPro's higher resolution "OverCapture" feature does for people who want to compose their VR shots into 2D afterwards), though it requires a much higher resolution to do that without it becoming stretched-out and grainy, because the same total 4K resolution is actually divided between two lenses / sensors in the 360 camera. Hope this help! :)
I'm not quite sure what you mean? This is a video about canoe paddling. And we almost never talk about our relationship... just two people enjoying the outdoors, trying to make high quality content out there :)
Sorry to hear TJ - I hope you're feeling better soon. No worries at all... please know that we care about you; wish I could be there to listen in person. I can't imagine what you're going through, but in difficult times I find it helpful to reach out to close friends and family. Take care :)
I got so peaceful mind, we maybe have never seen this quiet and calm lake in Japanese. Thank you.
Serenity and tranquility at its finest! In the event you do not know, Manitou in Algonquin means "spirit:, Thanks again!
Very cool effect with the 360 camera! I love paddling in calm water like that, so peaceful.
Fantastic! Thanks Chris and Julia!
Its amazing how the water is like glass. Wow!
